Nothing fancy here, just friendly atmosphere and good cold beer. They had a military event going on, but the manager(?) saw us walking up and invited us in and found a spot at the bar for us. The brewmaster took the time to tell us about the beer making process and made recommendations. I tried the Killeen Me Softly and it was very good. It's great to finally have a micro brewery in Killeen. They've worked out all the kinks from their initial opening last year. Super friendly service and great hand crafted beers. They also offer wine and other beverages. They have guest food trucks, Gringos Locos Tacos was the guest this evening...which is the best in the area. They frequently do fundraisers to support local animal shelters and adoption, trivia nights, etc. there's always something going on. All in all a great asset to our community. We found this place as we were driving to San Antonio. My wife and I wanted to eat someplace where we haven't been before. This is a very small and quaint restaurant with a very large selection of drinks as well as food. I ordered the calzone and thought it was going to be a small dish. That was my mistake. One order of calzone was enough for my wife and I. We also ordered five pretzel sticks, and they were quite large as well. I'm not sure if I have pictures, but the food, service, and ambience were great. You can tell this is a local hang out. Coming from San Diego I was surprised to find Iron Gauntlet in a sea of tasteless wasteland. I mean cmon, this part of Texas is not know for cuisine! But I was pleasantly surprised, I mean, this beer snob was pleasantly surprised to find someone doing some classic European styles with very good taste. I came in seeking my 'go to' West Coast IPA taste profile and was constantly impressed with each taster of these classics. Was out at Rabbit fest and met Curves a bartender with the Phantom warrior brewing company at their booth. She was super cool and had a great personality. She convinced my girlfriend and I to go to their location in Killeen. We did and it was awesome. Not only was there a good selection of craft beer but also video games a couple dart boards shuffle board , pool table and a stage. Everyone there was friendly and welcoming. Above all the place was CLEAN. If you have been to any bars or beer joints in Killeen then you know how hard it is to find a place that's clean. Definitely give this them a try! read more

It was DEAD. This was recommended by a coworker and it was empty. Maybe Saturdays just aren't it. The guy behind the bar didn't really seem to know what was going on. Half the beers were "out" and the beer we did order was filled half way with half the glass topped off with foam. Disappointing. The location seems a bit off.
