He spent 12 years in the casino Industry, then in 2014, started his first juice bar/acai bowl business Pure Raw Juice while living in Baltimore in 2014. He started two other restaurants in Delaware called Daily Veg before moving back top CNY and starting Whacko Gringo as a take out only restaurant serving out of a trailer. Whacko Gringo serves Mexican fair with a twist and acai bowls, and now has a full storefront which includes outdoor seating. Wife and I had passed by Whacko Gringo several times when they were in the trailer. We had always wanted to try it, the menu looked interesting and tasty, but it just didn't work out for one reason or another. They eventually got their storefront and we decided one day we were going to get out there and try them. We walked in pretty early on a Saturday, no one else in the restaurant. Just a couple small tables inside and a couple outside. I ordered the chimichurri beef tacos with rice and black beans, and my wife ordered a burrito bowl and a side of fresh pico and chips. Food seemed to take a while to be made, but it seemed like there were only 2 employees there. Employees were fine for the most part, but pretty indifferent to us being there. When we did get it, we were definitely disappointed. The meat in my tacos had good flavor, but other than that, everything was extremely bland, and my wife felt the same about hers. The pickled veggies, rice, beans, pico had no flavor, we mostly loaded them with hot sauce for some flavor. No salt on the chips, just a disappointing meal. We had high hopes and planned to go back to try more offerings, but we'd probably skip a return trip now.

The wings were hot and crispy from a quick fry before serving, they were nice and moist with a nice amount of smokey flavor. My Smoked Turkey sandwich was one of the best I've had.... beautiful smoke flavor, nice amount of meat on the sandwich and very moist. The roll was fresh and I got a little coleslaw for a nice crunch. They have a few beers on tap and sodas and ice tea. Service was very good and I can't wait to go back to try the ribs.

You order at a counter, then can sit at the handful of tables if eating in and it will be brought to you, so we were able to sit immediately, especially since it was right about opening time. We ordered the 2 smoked meats 2 sides platter with pulled pork, sliced brisket, mac & cheese & fried brussels sprouts, but we also added a side of crispy onions, and they also had a special of $1 each smoked wings, so we ordered 10 total - 5 in buffalo sauce, 5 in spicy peach. Food was brought quickly and everything was very good. The pulled pork was good, the brisket was fall apart tender, the fried brussels were crispy and salty in a good way. Fried onions were good, and we really enjoyed the wings, especially the spicy peach. Good smoke flavor on the wings and you definitely tasted the sweetness of the peach in the sauce. The mac and cheese was pretty bland, but that'd be our only complaint about the food. The employees were friendly, and the price was comparable to other BBQ restaurants - we paid $48 for everything, and there was food to bring home. We'll definitely be back for more.

Extremely disappointed…read more After reading an article in our local paper about their food truck, I decided to make the 30 minute drive out for our Friday night dinner during rush hour. The hours said they were open starting at 4:00pm. Got there at 4:45pm and there were a few people waiting outside of the truck. However, the ordering window was closed. I supposed it was because of the cold (only 60 and cloudy). I waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, one of the people in front of me went to the side of the truck and started talking to someone inside. They even mentioned that that was a line forming. I waited. And waited. Finally, after 10+ minutes, I walked back to my car and drove home empty handed. No one ever acknowledged me, said they weren't ready, or even said hello. I am hungry and now have to figure out something else to scrounge up at home for dinner for my family.
