The laksa here is so good!...and decently priced. There was a line when we were ordering and they had limited seating. Some people had to take their orders to go. I'm probably going to get some hate for this, but the food here is just ok at best. My expectations for Asian food are generally higher than most since I grew up on Southern California where Asian food is abundant across it. Phat Phuc Noodles unfortunately falls within the middle range for me - it's ok at best. Ordered the Chicken Pho and Shrimp Laksa. Chicken Pho in all honesty would be on the lower end when you toss it into the competition of anything in Orange County, CA. The broth lacks a lot of depth and flavor. The only good thing about it is that the chicken is meaty. The Laksa is better than the Pho that I ordered, but it lacked richness. If I had to choose between the two though, I would go with the Laksa. Honestly it's hard to say this, but it might be worth it to just skip out on the Asian food in London when you're visiting from CA. You'll likely better off getting it back at home. read more

Came here on a chilly day for an early dinner and I was very impressed by this place. Coming from the Bay Area in the US, there is an abundance of pho shops--it seems like you can find one on each corner. Here in the UK, it was a bit harder to find a good vietnamese place. I feel lucky to have found Phat Phuc. The atmosphere was fun and extremely unique, as it was an al fresco dining experience. Seating is limited, so I ended up sitting at the bar and made some good conversation with the cooks. Very pleasant experience. I am definitely coming back whenever I need a Vietnamese fix. My wife and I had it for dinner (dine in). We had diarrhea and stomach pain the next whole day. Avoid! Bun: You can literally buy it from any Asian supermarket, heat it in a microwave, and get the same thing. Pho: No flavor whatsoever, and standard fresh basil was replaced with spinach... Laksa: Buy any laksa soup/sauce in an Asian market and put some noodles in, you will get the same thing. read more

I got stir-fry which was amazing!! but my friend got egg noodle Laksa and that was one of the best Vietnamese dishes I have ever tasted! If you like spicy, this one is yummy! It doesn't give a giant kick but you of course can add more hot sauce if you want. The waiter was funny and helpful! A little sarcastic though so sometimes at first you think they're upset at you haha. Love finding these hidden gems! The name is interesting =), but the ambiance reminds me of an Asian street food vendor. You order food at the register and sit under a large tarp to dine. You can ask for the laksa to be not so spicy, but it still has a kick to it. The pho was a good option if you don't want any spice. Coming from California, traveling through Asia, and being surrounded by Asian communities growing up, we know and understand what authentic Asian food is. This was as close as we had it in London. The service was great and had a fun energy about them. Even after you paid, you can get help from the staff as they walked around. If you need to order something later (like sticky rice with mango), you can have them stop at your table and place the order there. When you arrive, you form a line against the wall and the next available table can get seated. It's a good system because the place is so small. Would definitely dine here again! read more

I agree with every word written by Chantee F. Pho is just passable. I had the duck. Meat was cooked well done. Vegetables / greens in the bowl were pretty meager. Flat rice noodles were cooked al dente. Noodles had no flavor. Broth was highly salty. I was jet lagged, tired & starving so every drop was consumed. But I wouldn't walk the 1.5 miles from my rental flat to eat here again. But happily my lovely wife ordered the big duck salad. It was brimming with ingredients, was sparkling fresh and had a medley of flavors that danced, skipped and sang. Tucked away just off King's Road and behind Chelsea Farmers' Market, Phat Phuc Noodle Bar is a fancied up food cart selling simple and traditional Vietnamese favourites such as pho, lassie, and Vietnamese dim sum (not only does it exist, but it is very, very good!) It literally only takes up a small below ground outdoor patio with about 15 outdoor seats, dotted with umbrellas and heat lamps. £18 got us two steaming bowls of pho, an appetizer and two drinks. So while it's not dirt cheap, the fantastic atmosphere and exceptionally slurp-worthy pho makes it a solid 4-star experience in my book. read more

Wow. I've only tried the prawn laksa but that alone deserves 5 stars. The creaminess of the coconut broth contrasts nicely with the lemongrass. And they are generous with the prawns. Served piping hot, this bowl of yummy goodness will warm you up on a cool London day. It sits tucked behind The Kings Road in Chelsea, down a short staircase. It's essentially a street food stand with a dedicated, covered dining area. Soups are accompanied by a condiment basket of Sriracha (yes!), soy sauce and fish sauce. They accept credit cards. Literally a hidden gem in the Chelsea neighborhood of London serving a small menu of Vietnamese and Malay cuisine. Started with the prawn summer rolls which were nice. Then came the laksa which was (no pun intended) holy phuc delicious! Creamy curry broth with noodles, chicken and veggies that exploded with flavor and just the right amount of heat. Duck pho was good as was the prawn stir fry. Prices cheap and service is pretty quick as well. Just be sure to come at the right time because it does pack out quickly and for good reason. Since the last time that I was in London and saw the name of this place, I knew I had to come back and try it! Wasn't disappointed! It's a small noodle bar down stairs under some tents. I did not have the pho because the laksa was intriguing. I ordered prawn laksa and my husband had the beef laksa. Something we've never had before. It was described as a spicy noodle soup with coconut base. I thought it would be like Tom Yum with noodles, but the soup was thicker, more like Thai Curry with Noodles. Not that it was bad! Just not what I was expecting. The price was very affordable and the portions were plentiful. If you're in the area, you should definitely come by! read more

It's a lovely location and atmosphere, but the menu didn't quite cut it for me. I enjoyed it as a getaway when it began to rain during some King's Road shopping, but I expected more menu options for a place that seemed to look so authentic. The staff was really nice though, and despite essentially being a food card in a nice little hideaway courtyard off Sydney street, it offers sufficient covered seating for people who want to dine-in. Pho used to be a hangover's delight after those hardly-working nights back in university, so I've had quite a bit of experience dining in Vietnamese restaurants and usually there are several more pho options other than beef, chicken, and prawns. Maybe I shouldn't expect much since it's really just a food cart, but at the same time they could offer other ingredients that I've seen in pho before, or at least provide more of the ones they have in the menu options they have. Overall it wasn't as filling as I would have liked, but I wouldn't say that I wouldn't come here again. It's location is convenient, and the name is incredibly clever, but I think this is just one of those places that's trapped between being a food card and an actual restaurant. For as large as the seating area is, I would think that the menu had more pho options available. If you've never had Vietnamese before, I would say that this place is worth a try, but if you're a veteran of pho then you'll likely be disappointed. read more

Excellent Vietnamese soup! A must eat when in London. It's located in a courtyard with heat lamps. I would come here everyday if I could. I live in California where Vietnamese food is almost at every corner in the major to midsize cities, and this London restaurant is legit and super good. Not at all what I expected but fine and dandy just the same. It's an outdoor *only* place in a courtyard. Think covered food stall. If you carry your own utensils and napkin, as I do, then this is the place to use them. Not sure what they do in the winter. We had two noodles bowls and a beer that came to £24. Very fast service. Best pho ever. It is super light. Unlike the other pho, contains a oily soup brooth. I also enjoyed their unique atmosphere and outdoor setting. I would suggest people to order the duck pho if you come from North America like me, which is something you won't see it on the menu back there. read more

A very nice discovery nestled in the heart of Chelsea. A street food atmosphere for Vietnamese food super good. The service is fast, friendly and efficient. If you live in this neighbourhood and it's your only source of Vietnamese food then this would probably rate higher. It certainly is a popular spot amongst the apparent locals but for me, I've had better. Whilst the menu has a few different selections of the staples, I was hoping to find more custom Pho bowls as they only had beef, chicken, duck and vegetarian. No beef slices or meatballs, just the thick cuts of brisket which were not very tender. They also add all the toppings for you, rather than let you top and season your own. One size fits all. I found the broth good but not great, lacking a bit of depth that is generally found when it's been sitting for several hours. It was a good meal that warmed me up on a cold winter day, however it didn't satisfy my Pho craving completely and isn't worth another walk in the rain. read more
