This company quoted my husband 1 price and then when I called to schedule (just a few months later - our piano move was contingent upon a sale of a house) they increased the quote. They claimed they didn't know about the stairs or location when they quoted my husband (there were 5 stairs) and they did, my husband provided that information. We had no idication there would be a price increase in the quote if we waited. My husband made it clear we were not looking for the piano to be moved right away. Be warned, they mentioned their prices fluctuate through out the year. So apparently you have to keep getting quotes regularly in order to get an accurate idea of cost. It's strange to me they would site the price increase because, their "prices flucatuate throughout the year" for the first reason for the change in quote and then tell me it was also becuase of the amount of the stairs and location (even though they had that information to begin with). The communication/customer service I received via text message was extremely poor. When someone is moving a piano and will be working with my parents, customer service is key. I can't afford to gamble with their level of service, especially if my first interatctions were below reasonable standards. A company that can't take accountablity for their quote process and places the blame back on the customer makes no sense to me. read more

3 hour move = $280 with tip, including U-Haul rental. Using 2 men and a truck the cost would have been $405 + tip, assuming they did the move in the same amount of time, which I doubt. Not to mention they showed up at a specific time, not within a window as most moving companies do. These guys were very professional, efficient and fun. These guys are hands down the best movers I've ever hired. Not only are they extremely affordable, they also employ some really great guys. Two younger guys showed up and immediately jumped into action. It was 90 degrees and humid the day we moved but they never complained. I kept their waters full and they were so appreciative. They were more polite than I am!!!!! They didn't hit a single wall or drop a single box. So sweet, did a great job, and went above and beyond on the service! I used Phil and Teds on two separate occasions - one for moving out and a week later to move into our new home. The move out went perfectly. We had 3 guys and it took them 3 hours to load a large DART storage pod. The used every inch of the pod, expertly packing and wrapping our furniture with the packing blankets we provided. The guys moved quickly and were very friendly. I was looking forward to the move in, knowing we had the same crew. Move in day came and things went smoothly, until a loveseat needed to get downstairs. We had no concerns about getting it down there as the previous owners got a large sectional out of there with no issue or damage. Unfortunately we ended up with a 2" x 3" gouge out of our Sheetrock in the stairwell going downstairs. The guys were very apologetic. I understand that knicks, dings, and scrapes happen in the course of a move and I looked past that on the move out and move in, but I thought that a bit excessive and talked to one of the owners - Jordan - about it when paying. He completely dismissed the issue. I sent him a picture so he could see the full damage, then he apologized and asked how he could make it right. I said I would get a quote from a handyman and I would be happy if we could split the expense. He responded that that sounded good and to let him know. I got several quotes and found a person who did handyman work on the side who would do the repair for $100 and it would take him 3 trips to the house to cut out the section, put in a new section of Sheetrock, then mud and sand. He was by far the cheapest bid and so I texted Jordan the price and asked if we were still on to split the cost. No response. Texted again a week later. No response and another week has passed. I clearly should have withheld my full payment for their services since he stiffed me. Bottom line - great movers, but if you have any issues do not trust the owners to do the right thing - you will be left high and dry. read more

I had a great experience with this company. They made my moving day an easy experience. Very professional and hard workers. I hired them for 4 hours and they got the job done quickly and efficiently, and they were very friendly. They were careful with my stuff and treated each box as if was fragile, even if it wasn't. Worth. Every. Penny. It was like having two good friends over to lift all our heavy stuff! Our movers, Kevin & J.J., showed up early, were exceptionally cheerful and TIRELESS! These guys busted tail for their entire alotted time, saying, "Order us around! What's next?" They seemed to have a friendly competition between themselves to see who could transport the most boxes. (Sorry, Kevin, I think J.J. "The Machine" got you this time.) They treated our things (and our walls) better than we do. They sped up our move considerably and saved our backs. Couple of strong guys with no knowledge of packing a truck showed up and muscled about 2/3 of my load in the 2 hours I figured they'd need to complete the job but ran out of truck. After inspecting the load ( I had been in the house taping last minute items) it was any where from 2-3 foot from the roof in my 20 footer and I explained I moving cross country not across town. I opted out of a third hour of chaos and tried to figure out how to unpack and get all my belongings in the truck. After 5 hours of the old man scrounging around I gave up and drove the truck 70 miles to Rochester and the next day we came up with a trailer to pick up the remaining items. My Brother offered me help to unpack and repackage truck easily accommodating all my items with room to spare. These guys pushed furniture through doors with no regard to tearing/soiling items and had no concept of using pads or straps, resulting in 3 gouged tables, soiled love seat and torn leather chair. I basically paid for 2 hours of a clown circus but was not entertained. I mentioned the bad load and nightmare experience but he was only interested in getting paid, period. Called and left three messages for Jordan to make the bad experience right but no return call. Run like the wind from these Jokers. U-haul said they would evaluate their site presence. The movers, Chris & Josh, were great. Friendly, efficient, and professional. The price was the best I could find when I was doing research. (This is a bare bones "you rent the truck" mover.)The only thing that keeps this from a 5 is that one of the movers apologetically told me when he showed up that he was just told to tell me that payment would be cash only. I wasn't informed of this beforehand and their supervisor didn't bother to contact me directly. Fortunately, it was only an inconvenience for me, but that could have been a dealbreaker for someone else. read more

I hired these guys to unload my UHaul last week. The 2 guys were nice and did a decent job - until after I left I realized they left my heavy tv entertainment center in the middle of my basement on top of beautiful hardwood flooring instead of taking it to the large carpeted area. There are HUGE gashes and scratches all over the wood from this and I have called the company repeatedly and emailed and no one will return my phone call or emails. Sounds like a very shady business in my opinion. All they have to do is call and make an effort to fix their damages, but they are causing me to seek out help from the Better Business Bureau and Small Claims Court - so AVOID this company! Other than being 90 minutes late, the movers did the great job. The owner Jordan however, should be ashamed of how he does business. When I told him his mover was late and I was mad, he said and I quote "I don't care about your business, I don't need you to refer me and you should have gone somewhere else." Please be careful with this company. I did call and place a complaint with Jordan but doubt that anything happened. Unfortunately I did not have a complete list of missing items at the time I spoke to him although I knew some things were missing immediately. I wanted to wait to compile a complete list and cannot prove it was these workers. One worker was amazing and worked so hard. Other worker (skinny) worked just as hard at taking breaks, cigarette smokes, talking (a lot) on phone and trying to chat me up to extend the job which meant more money for them. He kept saying "Oh we can stay longer" and "how are you planning to pay for this?". I had gone through Hire A Helper so it was nothing he had to worry about - just seemed suspicious as all payments were done online. We personally had unloaded a 7' POD and a 15' storage unit - much of which was already in the walkout basement but a lot in the garage. They were to empty the 16' POD and move those items into the house and empty the garage by bringing things into the basement. We had a tarp on the floor when you walked into the house. Skinny guy was to move items from garage/unit to tarp. Larger items they both worked together but other items the hard worker would move downstairs. did have to extend the time as only one guy was really working and the skinny guy was often MIA. When they left I saw the skinny guy had moved things behind my car in the garage so he didn't have to bring them in the house. Immediately I noticed things were missing such as a 4' Level in a yellow plastic case, a box I had in the garage of random items I had used during my interim living arrangements between homes. I cannot prove they took anything but I know items were in the garage or POD prior to their arrival and not their afterwards. I hired movers to pack me up (they were not available to unload me) and they packed up a 16' POD, 7' POD and a 10' x 10' moving truck in a little more than 2 hours. These men had to unload a 16' POD and move items from garage to house (2 car garage with one car in the garage) and they did it in 3 hours and not everything had been moved. Comcast guy came as the movers were finishing up. His work was in the living room and bedroom on the main floor. After movers left he told me that the skinny guy was making faces behind my back and how unprofessional he thought this guy was. Jordan did nothing to reimburse me for the wasted time and the fact that I actually only had about 1.5 workers if that. I cannot recommend this company at all, which is unfortunate because the one worker was a great example for this company but the bad worker made it impossible to recommend and Jordan's handling of it sealed the deal that I would NEVER use them or recommend them again. read more

We had JJ and Tony for a move in the middle of winter with less than ideal conditions (icy sidewalk, second story apartment), they were so great about everything and got the job done carefully and efficiently. These guys are experts at loading the uhaul and I would hire them again just to have them pack the truck. We had pretty much every inch of it packed and had very little left over to take by car. We also had no accidents, nothing broken and no scuffs on the wall. Best moving experience I've had! read more

They were awesome!!! I hired them to unload a truck with furniture for a two bedroom place. I got just two guys and they were all done within 90 minutes. And my place didn't even have an elevator and was on the 2nd level. they had to carry stuff up the stairs. They showed up on good time and even put-together my furniture. My wife and I hired these movers to put our belongings on a truck. They showed up a few minutes early and were extremely efficient and professional. We have a heavy armoire that another moving company with 3 movers struggled to move and actually ended up damaging slightly. The two guys from Phil and Ted's moved this item with no trouble at all. They continued moving quickly and were more than happy to move things around the truck when I asked them to. I only wish we could hire them to unload the truck on the other end of our move out of state. Their prices are very reasonable, and while I'm sure you could probably find someone cheaper for just labor, the small amount of money you'd save wouldn't be worth the headaches. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this business after my experience with them. When I made contact to set up the job, they responded with the dates they were available and asked for certain information to confirm. I responded quickly with the information and confirmed the date. They responded again asking for the same thing, so I replied again promptly to ensure they received it. The day of the job comes and I reach out to confirm a third time, only to find out that somehow my multiple previous emails were disregarded and there was no move scheduled. They did their best at this point, which was to send movers the next day after their other jobs. This required that I keep the truck an additional day, rearrange childcare, etc. to make it happen. The movers were polite, prompt, and worked hard, but made an honest mistake--they left behind an important item. It was labeled as needing to be moved, it was in the right place, they just forgot it. Unfortunately, they were never going to tell me this, at the end of the move I saw it wasn't moved and they were already walking away when I inquired about where it was. They replied immediately that they realized they'd forgotten it, weren't sure how since it had been right there, and were sorry. They were clearly going to leave the job without letting me know they knew it wasn't complete. I called the owner to complete payment and let him know about the last item. We agreed I'd see if it would fit in my vehicle and if not, I'd be in touch. When it didn't fit, I reached out. He responded quickly to say he was actually 5 minutes away from the item and could swing by, pick it up, and deliver (it is a 15 minute drive), and that he would do it for $100. I responded quickly to offer $40. I didn't hear back from him that day, so the next day I asked him if he'd gotten my email, as my previous experience was that he is not diligent in monitoring email. He responded quickly to say that he had received my message, but he was "offput" by my negotiating the price and the regular price would be his minimum of $120 plus an additional $50 since he was using his vehicle, for a total of $170. He told me I should then rent my own truck and do it all myself. Given that it was multiple errors on his company's part, and especially after I'd been a patient and understanding customer at this point, it was a shame that this business did not complete the job they were hired to do without trying to demand more money. Their lack of diligence and professionalism cost me time and stress to cover their mistakes, and left me with an incomplete job. read more
