I started my daughter with the school when she was 7 years old, uncoordinated and the farthest thing from physically inclined. Now, five years later, my daughter had poise, confidence, high self esteem, and had gained a lot of physical attributes including muscular arms and legs, balance, and coordination. Seeing my child succeeding and benefiting from her training gave me a strong desire to join her on her climb through the ranks. I signed up a year after she began, and saw the benefits immediately. Not only did I get a tremendous workout on a daily basis, but was constantly filled with pride in my own achievements throughout my training. Four years later I feel stronger, safer, more confident, more outspoken, more adaptable to change, more accepting of criticism, and more capable in all aspects of my life. Like my daughter I never thought of myself as physically inclined and was never into sports... karate is as much a sport to me as it is an art, a challenge and a lifestyle. We have been going to Fusion for a few months now and could not be more impressed with the facility, all they offer, and Megan's teaching. Our three children (two sons, and daughter) joined Taekwondo, and they LOVE IT! Our youngest son, 7, has had difficult time adapting to remote learning with school, as he's primarily a kinesthetic learner. He's coming out of his shell with Taekwondo, and it's heartwarming. Our daughter, 5, has found new friends, and takes her personal development with Taekwondo extremely seriously. Seeing her become a strong young lady is inspiring! Our oldest, 9, is setting a great example for the younger two! I've personally joined Krav Maga, as it's INCLUDED with our family membership. For no additional cost, I've been able to challenge myself to learn new skills. In a short time, it's made an amazing improvement to my life. I personally have a challenging time with social anxiety, which made me extremely apprehensive about starting. However, every member of the class made me feel welcome, and have helped me feel a sense of belonging. Senior Master Coffrin, Ms. Coffrin, and their entire staff have all made our entire family feel like we're part of something bigger. Their consistency, discipline, and genuine caring is breathtaking. The culture that they've created is astounding, and quite frankly, a much needed antidote to chaos that surrounds us. When we joined, I thought the kids would learn martial arts... ...but the lessons learned from the Coffrin's have been MORE VALUABLE OFF THE MAT. The app they use has hours for the pool but they aren't always correct and the pool heater breaks often. They have a "deep cleaning" every year that members pay for and they shut down the gym for 6 days to do it so not only are you paying for it but you can't go while they do it. Just keep it clean year round. The workers are usually not super helpful or nice.

I was told no exceptions. so I walked away from this so called "family place" and they walked away from over $700.00. Think twice before donating ANY money to this "non-profit". maybe the YMCA doesn't believe in being profitable because they don't have to worry about the bottom line. In addition, the turnover in their childcare area is puzzling. My child's 3 favorite young female employees were let go or quit. Be careful who is watching your children. What a sad, sad place.
