@thegoodgirlgigi and i waiting for my parents to get their dual citizenship
    Cheryle L.

came along with my parents to get their business and stuff done for their dual citizenship. The Philippine consulate general is in a pretty cool building in Koreatown. The elevators are very modern and I didn't know how to work it at first lol. But it's super easy! ADA accessible and they are not pet friendly here, but I did have my service dog which isn't considered a pet. of course by law, they allowed me to have my dog with me. The staff is pretty friendly; I didn't really communicate much with them, but they seemed friendly. depending on how many people there are you might have to wait a few hours. Parking was generally easy to find. I walked around and ate at a restaurant while I waited.

Making appointments for consular services is discouraging. It is pointless at times and frustrating. I made an appointment for notary services. I arrived 15minutes early for the said appointment, checked in and received my number. The employee at the notary window passed my number and I went to her, she said I have to go get another number instead of helping me out. I started to talk to her but she dismissed me rudely. Fast forward to receiving my notarized document. My last name was misspelled so I have to go back again. This time it was another employee, nicer and accommodating. I told her the problem and she made sure to get it right. I was told to wait for a couple of hours but I was able to get back my document within an hour. Which is good for me because I don't have to worry about my parking.

Tried my luck by walking in since booking an appointment was so difficult. Kaso bawal daw walk in pag dual citizenship. Kuya in the front desk was very nice and helpful. 12pm-1pm lunch time nila. We parked in their building. Came in the parking lot at 11:55am, left at 12:57pm. Paid $16

My mom's appointment was at 1:20pm. She was here on time. The receptionist told her to scan a QR code and have a seat in the waiting area. The Notary person will call her name when it's her turn. 2 hours later, my mom is still in the waiting room. When she checked with the cashier window, the person there said "why didn't you go up to the Notary window and speak to the person?" My mom told her she what she was instructed. The Notary person was called to her window from somewhere in the back (there was a lot of noise and laughter from back there). The Notary person went over all the details that my mom had to do and said they close in 30 minutes. What happened during the 2 hours we waited? The lobby had a handful of people waiting and the service windows had one person working. It wasn't until 3:00pm that they had 3 workers out on the window to clear the lobby. Someone else here on Yelp said it best, this place gives the Philippines a bad name. The word TAMAD comes to mind.

Last night, during winter, I turned on the heat in our room and waited 35-40 minutes for it to come on. Nothing. I called the front desk and was told that the entire hotel is switched to air during the day, then placed on a "hiatus," and that heat is not available until around 10:00-10:30 PM. I had to repeat this back to the staff member because I could not believe what I was hearing -- I was told that guests cannot control the heat in their own rooms and must wait until the hotel decides to turn it on for everyone. The answer was yes. I called again around 10:30 PM because we still had no heat. The person I spoke to said she had just come on duty and would check. The heat finally came on around 11:15-11:20 PM, only to shut back off at approximately 2:00 AM. When I called the front desk again, no one answered. My husband and I were forced to sleep under covers wearing our coats and clothes, freezing the rest of the night. I am now sick, likely from being cold all night. I contacted Expedia and was told the hotel has a strict no-refund policy, so now I have to wait for the hotel to decide whether they will "allow" a refund of the $220 room charge, while my $150 incidental deposit will take 5-7 business days to be returned. Even the travel insurance I purchased (which I buy every time) does not cover this situation. Expedia attempted to contact the hotel and could not reach them, so now I am stuck going back and forth hoping someone eventually responds. This hotel has five floors. We were in Room 468. Are guests seriously expected to accept that they cannot use heat or air in their own rooms until the hotel "pushes a button" for the entire building? No matter how cold or hot it is, you wait. What makes this even more concerning is that when we checked in, the hotel was full of older guests (60s, 70s, even 80s) preparing for a cruise. I sincerely hope everyone was okay overnight, because if we were freezing, I can't imagine how they felt. Do not book this hotel. The lack of temperature control, accountability, and basic guest comfort is unacceptable. This experience was beyond ridiculous.

Let's cover the pros and cons: Pro #1: It's a pet-friendly hotel. It's not free to bring pets, and it's not cheap to bring your cat or dog, but it's not as bad as other places. Con #1: You have to pay $28 per day for self-parking in the lot underneath the hotel. I hate paying for parking at a hotel. Pro #2: They have complimentary breakfast and it's better than your typical continental breakfast at a hotel. There's an omelet station, scrambled eggs, bacon, pork sausage, pancakes or French toast (depending on the day), bread (bagels, English muffins, and toast), fruit, cereal, various pastries, yogurt, juice, tea, coffee, and more. Pretty solid. Con #2: There's a lot of noise as the hotel is located on a popular street in Glendale and it's close to the highway. At least my room was noisy. I had to wear earplugs each night (I'm a light sleeper). Pro #3: The rooms are suites so they're more spacious than your typical hotel room. There's a bedroom with a door and a nice living room area with a mini fridge and a microwave. Con #3: Some service snafus. I checked in digitally and I was supposed to have a virtual key card. It didn't work as there was an issue with the app. I requested some towels and they said they would bring them up to my room. They never did. I had to call back and they brought them up this time (though they brought a different number of towels than what I requested. Pro #4: They have a complimentary happy hour from 5:30-7:00 p.m. where each guest can get two alcoholic beverages (wells, beer, and wine). They also have some light bites such as chips and salsa/guac, pita bread and hummus, snack mix, or crostini (depending on the day). Con #4: The rooms are pretty clean and comfy, but they could be nicer. Case in point: an old hand towel was in between my mattress and the mattress box. All in all, a slightly above average experience. Without the expensive parking fees and lower pet fees, that would make a positive difference.

With AI technology quickly becoming more prevalent many government agencies are not allowing walk ins except for certain cases. You will be required to make an appointment. We found this to be true with the Consulate here. In the state of California there are only 2 locations. The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea can be found in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The San Francisco office also consuls over Colorado, Utah and Wyoming while the Los Angeles office includes Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico. We needed to renew a Korean passport. After visiting the website we found the steps fairly easy to follow. For any other office it is best to check their own respective websites. The steps are not standard and can be entirely different. We made an online appointment through the 365 Overseas Korean Portal. The appointment was 1.5 weeks away. I thought it would be much further out but thankful for the shorter time. You then need to fill out their form and submit that. It's basic information and what it is you're trying to do. Simple. With that set we went through the steps again to make sure we had the proper documents needed. In this case your Korean passport a valid U.S. passport/Green Card/Visa. You also need your Driver's License and work permits. They wanted photo copies. Luckily they have a copy machine there for 25cents a copy. Not bad just remember to bring quarters. You will also need a passport size photo taken by a professional. This part use to erq me. If you don't have that, this consulate has a photo booth on the premises for you to take that photo. And it's free of charge. When you sit in the booth it tells you what to do. Tilt your head up, turn to the left, etc. It was great. This office only accepts cash, and had to be the exact amount. Found that strange. Not sure if that's true for all the others and is best to check those websites. The good thing is this office has a change machine. It's best to figure what fees you need to pay, and what the total is so you know what the exact amount is. We brought this with us and extra cash in case there would be something surprisingly we would have to pay for. That didn't happen. It also adivses to bring a self addressed express mail envelope for them to mail your passport . In our case, however, that option was not available.. How that was going to be handled would have to wait till the appointment. Right next to the consulate is a parking lot. It is not free unless you have an appointment with the consulate and you get your ticket validated. Fulfill those 2 requirements and your parking is free. If not be prepared to pop some twenties. Not sure if they give change. It is also important to note this office closes at noon to break for lunch. So, plan your visits accordingly or you could be waiting longer than you like. Our appointment was at 11:00 to 11:30. We got there at 11:11 on a Wednesday. Once you're in there you need to make the copies you need. We did. Get your photo. We did and it was actually fun. Then, you can take a number to be qued. There were 4 people before us not all were renewing passports. And only 2 tellers. The reviews talk badly about teller #2. She was not there. And they talked sweetly of number 7. He was not there either. When our number was called I was surprised we waited only 26 minutes. We presented our documents and stated what my wife needed. The agent started going through the paper work, clattering away filling in digital forms and documents and glancing at other references to ensure she was doing everything correctly. And in 9 minutes it was done. She said everything was good and needed to return on a specific date to pick up the passport. If we cannot pick it up that day, we could pick it up any other day they are open. We would not need to stand in line just go to the front teller to request it and it would be there. I guess the brown bag of food was not needed. This whole process may seem confusing and frustrating but in taking the time to review it was easier than expected. The steps\instructions were very clear. The copy machine, change machine and photo booth were big pluses. The agents were nice and pleasant. Why can't they all be like this?

If you need a american version for your document go to thr website and print it out and they will notarize it for you. It's a hassle trust me. Be prepared if you dnt want to do multiple trips. I stayed here for a two-night stay because my parents are elderly and thought it would be convenient. Unfortunately, the elevators were not functional. At one point, only one elevator worked, and all the guests knew about the issue. Despite a sign stating, "Our elevators prefer 6 or less people," guests were aggressively trying to get in, even when the hotel was at full capacity. When we were trying to catch our flight, everyone was packed in the elevators, and I tried to ask a group of people if they could allow my parents to get in. They refused, saying they were all filled up. I insisted and pushed my parents in, which got very aggressive and uncomfortable. If you're staying here, pack your patience and get a room on the ground floor to avoid dealing with the elevator issue. Another downside was the beds. They were a bit too soft, and even the hide-a-bed was worn out and didn't provide any firmness. This caused back pain the next day. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet was decent, and the coffee was better than I expected. The staff in the kitchen were also kind and accommodating.

I was literally was just in the other hotel the night before, and this place pales in quality. Only things going for this place are the nice employees, the quick turnaround with changing sheets and towels, and location in arcadia. I do come back, because of proximity to places i often revisit, but the broken and no effort to fix elevators made me write a review that would have been 3 stars at least before.

Do better, Frank - you know nothing about me and your "joke" wasn't funny in the least bit. Front desk staff was never friendly and only slightly helpful here, not the service you'd expect from somewhere so close to Disney and in vacation central. Rude!!

Not anybody friendly. Poorly operated. Stay away!!! First problem was the bathtub. Who puts a razor sharp edged in the shower? The bathtub was awkwardly connected to a stone seat ... that was designed for a shower. It looked like the tiles on the edge of the seat came straight out of the tile cutter, with perfectly sharp edges, that can cut fruits! Who sign off this? Where was the hotel manager? My son slipped and hit the edge on the back of his head, thought the hair, and we had to make a late night visit to an emergency room. The cut was so bad that the doctor had to staple it. Secondly, the A/C was pointed directly at the bed, causing extremely strong wind. At the same time the thermostat was in another room. The bedroom was oscillating between freezing wind and overheating. It was almost impossible to sleep at night. This ruined my whole trip to LA. Lastly the window in the bedroom did not open. The night was cool. I would be ok with just ventilating the room. This is really sad because I have been pretty frequent customer at Hilton last year. I even stay this exact chain (Embassy Suites) recently and the hotel did not have any of these issues. It is possible that this particular location is just poorly operated and the manager should be fired. I'm not going to give Hilton another chance. Going back to staying at Marriott. Never had safety issues with Marriott. Stay away until serious changes are made. Reconsider loyalty to Hilton brand.

Small fitness center with treadmill, eliptical, bicycle and weights. Sad selection of evening reception food. Chatted with customer service at 230 pm prior to arrival and received a pushback of hotel room digital key. I am a loyal Hilton member, what's the point of being a Gold member if the customer service as lowsy as motels and had to wait in line for checking in. Ordered extra bed, $20 a night, waited for two and half hour and still not delivered. Clogged shower with water pooling. Annoying Hilton employee walking around hotel lobby during evening reception soliciting to buy Grand Vacations making relaxing, reading my book impossible. Ordered burger and took 30 min for food to come out and my son was the only one ordering. Next day we went for breakfast, long line for made to order breakfast. Yogurt left out in a bowl with no cover. It was okay. Fitness and pools are empty since it is morning. So thats a plus. Hopefully finally it turns to be a better stay today.

The interior of the hotel looks kept but the bedroom was musky and outdated. The phones worked upon arrival and I had requested for extra blankets and towels. They offered maintenance to come but it was already 10pm and everyone was already asleeped. We were so tired from a long drive from the bay area that we barely paid attention to the room on our first night. Next morning, I find my pajamas dirty with melted chocolate and later found M&Ms scattered around the edges the room. No one had brought candy on this trip by the way. Breakfast was okay. Incredibly long line and wait for the omelette station. I appreciated the app and the contact less check in and out process.

Be sure…read moreto finish your application online and wait until they approve it to come in or you'll be coming for nothing! Once your number is called, the process is very simple and fast. The wait for picking up your passport is much faster than the wait for dropping off your passport. Parking is metered and there's lots of great restaurants all around!

Regarding getting a Visa to travel to China: After applying…read moreonline beforehand, you need to wait until your application has the green checkmarks then says you can submit your passport(s) to go to the Chinese Consulate. Then you need to print out that page with the barcode since you'll need that to enter the building and they scan and take it and wrap it in a rubber band around your submitted passport. Then you show up - there is street parking (no structure) and you can pay for up to 2 hours OR you can park farther away where the street parking is free (just watch signs for street cleaning) and walk a bit. Then you show up and take the elevator to the 3rd floor. When you get out of the elevator the line to the left is to submit your passport and the line to the right is to pickup your passport/visa. Then you show the security guards your printed screenshot with the checkmarks and barcode (I had to adjust my printing to like 87% to get it all on one page) and then they'll hand you a number. The B numbers are from dropping off your passport and the Y numbers are for picking up your passport. They also have G and A and C numbers but I'm not sure what those are for. If you are submitting more than 3 passports (like I was for my family of 4) then you need to get 2 number slips. Then you go in and sit and wait. To drop off my passport on a Tuesday when I arrived around 9:30am it took 1 hour. To Pickup my passport(s) the following Thursday also around 9:30am it took 1 hour 50 minutes. I asked the security guard and he said the least busy time was 1pm but I thought that was too risky since the consulate closes at 2pm and I was driving up from Orange County. The drive to get up to the Consulate from Orange County took me 1 hour 45 minutes leaving central OC around 7:45am. The worst traffic was on the 110 freeway heading north. Overall, the experience was smooth and very organized. I would recommend bringing a mask though since there were tons of people (like 100) cramped in the waiting room like sardines and about 15% of them were sick and coughing and sneezing while I was there which was gross and I'm too busy to get sick so I just wore a mask (like others also did)
