I called Bastrop Providence Funeral Home a few hours before she passed in ICU. There was not even one slight interruption for the process to get underway. From the first phone call, to the day we walked out with my wife's ashes, they were empathetic, understanding and professional in guiding us through this powerful emotional ordeal. They helped us through this incredible challenge making us feel secure in the mourning process. Brandon, the Funeral Director, was involved in helping us from the beginning to the very end. He was incredibly kind, compassionate and caring. He came to our home to explain everything, in part, because I am a disabled military veteran. Emma, part of the aftercare support team, was so good at being there as an emotional pillar of support. Her gentle communication always made me feel like I was never alone in this terribly trying time.

When I ordered the flowers, my girlfriend received a text informing her of the order and that they were running behind. Why would you ever do that!?!!?!? I then received a text saying that she was informed. When I asked if they had notified her of the flower delivery from me, they lied and said they did not. Then, they did not even deliver the flowers until the next afternoon. To top it all off 1/2 the flowers were wilted and dying 2 days later. I do not recommend The Secret Garden. very unsatisfied.

The buffet was catered and is a sample of what might be offered at a service. This small location is behind the HEB in Bastrop. You park in the front and side is where cars may line up if there was a procession. The only negative issue was there there is only 1 mens and 1 women's bathroom and so there can be quite a wait for bathrooms depending on the crowd. there are nice chairs but not a lot of table space.

We also told them it was a rustic country wedding. Unfortunately, a week before the wedding the lady I had been working with passed away suddenly. Despite the personal loss the staff had, they were extremely professional and proactive to ensure we had flowers for our wedding. We felt they went above and beyond given the circumstances.

This cemetery sits on a couple of acres not far from highway 71 in Bastrop near a Buccee's. First…read morething you notice about it, is that it is very well manicured, taken care of, and all the graves are lined up and orderly. One other thing you notice is that almost every grave is adorned with flowers and personal trinkets. This is still an active cemetery with many recent interments with plenty of room left. Quite a number of the headstones have porcelain photographs of the decedents. The majority of the headstones appear to be Hispanic in origin. I did not spot any headstones that went back before 1930. There is no Texas historical sign or informational kiosk at this location. Should you decide to make this your forever home, the photos included might help with your choice.
