Having already had a cancer that required countless trips to Tucson, I was pleased when the oncology surgeon that I had in Tucson recommended Dr. Swarup, in Sierra Vista for treatment. All of the providers at Southwest Cancer Care are topnotch! I was assured by several doctors that Dr Swarup is, and belongs to, a clinic that is equivalent to the very best in Tucson or Phoenix. I went through chemo treatment for my cancer. The expertise and care I was given at Southwest Cancer Care was exceptional. Of course, there are side-effects and other warnings for patients who are going through this treatment. Of course, I managed to experience several side-effects. Dr. Swarup immediately saw me and had an answer for each problem, resolving it. Thanks to my medical care, I am now in follow-up treatment for the cancer. Healthcare providers have a very large burden in taking care of patients. Dr. Swarup and his group are the best, in my option! I highly recommend Dr. Swarup!! Then did another using that rotation type X-ray. I asked again right there... is this covered. I told her my husband just passed and really tight on money. She said yes it was covered. Had she told me the truth, I would have declined that particular X-ray. I have called their office about this thinking they would handle. Well, they did not. I got a bill today threatening collections! Paying under duress. I have to. Can't have them report to my credit. Instead, he was condescending and dismissive, and talked more about his career and his speciality. My wife has severe anxiety triggered by medical appointments due to the substandard medical care here in Arizona. This was exacerbated by how she was cut off by Dr. Weyer each time she had a question or comment. He accused my wife of constantly interrupting, and gave me the impression that he was more concerned on telling my wife what he doesn't treat rather than discussing her dermatology issue. It was to the point of us (particularly my wife) feeling verbally attacked. We left immediately, as it seemed like he was actively instigating and trying to get an outburst from my wife. As we left, even the receptionist came off as rude, yelling after us that we needed to check out as we were exiting the exam area. This experience resulted in my wife having an anxiety attack as soon as we got to the car. My wife was not disruptive in any way. Dr. Weyer would cut her off every time she tried to ask a question or comment about what she discovered when doing her own research on her dermatological condition. Dr. Weyer gave the impression that the information that my wife had was insignificant. He would literally shrug his shoulders and throw up his hands as if there was nothing he could do. He was supportive of my decision to incorporate additional treatments for my lung cancer in addition to chemo and immunotherapy. He does a lot of research on many different types of treatments which tells me he is in search of all things that have proven research and benefits and looks to find truth wherever it may be found.
