When I called to make the appointment, I was on hold for 45 minutes. On the day of the appointment, we arrived 15 minutes early for intake, but were told we had to wait to check in because staff were helping another patient enroll in Medi-Cal. We then waited another 35 minutes just to be checked in -- after already arriving early -- only to continue waiting 20 minutes (again) to be called back. The provider who saw my son explained that he was an ER doctor, it was his first day, and that he was not a pediatrician, so we would need to schedule a follow-up appointment. This was not a same day appointment....this was a scheduled appointment that we waited for and I took off work and pulled him out of school (costing us money we do not have). Why we were seen by someone who couldn't even perform this task, I do not know. We scheduled that follow-up before leaving and they even called to confirm it with me the next day. Today, I left work early (again, costing us money) to bring my son in, only to be told by the front desk that the appointment had been canceled one minute after it was originally entered into the system. If that's true, how was I able to confirm it the following day? At every step, it felt like there was little to no respect for our time. I rarely leave negative reviews (In fact, my only negative review), but this experience was so disorganized and frustrating that I feel others should be aware. Healthcare is already time-consuming and expensive enough without having to deal with this level of miscommunication and lack of professionalism.

About a month later I was told by military medical I just needed my civilian doctor to sign a form confirming it. Sounds easy right? No. This clinic made it HELL. When I called IB health clinic, asking if I could bring in the form or fax it to my doctor to sign off that she just did my exam they said I couldn't fax it and needed an appointment JUST to get the signature that the doctor did it. I expressed how important and urgent it was, but their soonest wasn't for a month out. I was dismissed immediately and just given a "sorry we don't accept fax or email, that's our soonest, nothing we can do for you". So I waited a month, only for it to be canceled the day of with no notice because the doctor called out. I desperately asked if there was anything they could do, allow a fax or email this one time, put me with another doctor, any sort of way they could help. Despite explaining how urgent this was for my military orders and that I only needed a signature for the exam they ALREADY COMPLETED. They refused to help, wouldn't allow another doctor to sign, in a dismissive tone saying I should "schedule an appointment and bring my papers next time when I do". Clearly, that's what I was there for, your useless comment wasn't needed or helpful. Thankfully, I went elsewhere the same day to a clinic I had never been to, had no appointment and was helped IMMEDIATELY. IB health center was a terrible experience, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Had I known they weren't going to be any help at all from the start I would've never come here. They also contact your EMERGENCY contact for non-emergencies. Insane.

I am a mother of two who's husband is a military vet or both Iraq and Afghanistan who recently broke her foot in 3 places which required 4 screws and a bone graph. Well it was feeling really uncomfortable so I make an appointment at this "family medicine" offfice and before he even looked at the area he said I cant just throw prescriptions at everybody and was implying I was fishing for drugs in an extremely condescending manner. After that he looked at the area for a total of about 2 seconds with no more knowledge than I came in with. He just referred me to another doctor. Thank god for that. This place tries to make everyone out to be searching for drugs. They can keep the drugs I just wanted me knee to get better so I can play longer with my daughter. Wouldn't go to this place if it was the last doctor on earth. Google your symptoms you will get more information and probably more help that this awful place can offer and maybe your dignity or integrity won;t be put under question by someone who doesn't know you. They already have the required paperwork for Sweetwater school district but it's best to bring your own to avoid glitches. The physical was only $40, and despite a busy waiting room, we were in and out in just 30 minutes. We arrived on a Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and walked out by 1:30. I have been here at 530 pm and walked out by 6. From entry to paperwork to physical. And I have excellent insurance! SB Urgent Care is opened seven days a week. Cash & card accepted. Opened in the evenings. No appointment necessary. I appreciate they are organized, affordable, and hassle-free. Although I come for the physical other patients were there for medical situations. The only drawback is that you can hear everything. If you have a sensitive situation, whisper or write it down. I am greatly pleased of this medical facility in the community that is accessible by bus, car, or your feet. "When health is accessible, lives are preserved ."

She confined the options with her supervisor and we were happy with the care. My only suggestion is to add a better epoxy to the medical room we were in. It didn't feel very clean. They have an option to make an urgent care appt online beforehand but the website was glitching on me so I did a walk in. I had maybe a 20 min wait and the Dr was with me shortly after. I wasn't rushed, and I felt in good hands. The facility is clean and staff are very welcoming. Bonus- CVS right next door for prescriptions but it was craaazy crowded.

As I mentioned, my mother and father have been going to her for over a decade, and after so much time of a doctor patient relationship you would think there would be some kind of recognition of that fact. I have dealt with my clients from the day they got there kitten or puppy to the day where we sadly have to choose peace over a poor quality of life. And these are pets (which many call there fur babies). Dr. Shachars staff is just very quick to shoo away her human patients of 15 years at the drop of a hat. Lucky for these rude insensitive mouthy employees they can act however they want over the phone. A lot of people don't appreciate the poor treatment of their elderly relatives. My mother has verbally told Dr. Shachar during an appointment how her front staff treated her badly. I do not know if Dr. Shachar does not care or just condones the poor treatment of her patients. I would like to find my mother a new PCP, but like my father, my mother said no, she really likes Dr. Shachar and that's her doctor and not mine. In the past years I have also been treated poorly and spoken down to by these young ladies and have had to refrain from becoming very ghetto. Only for the sake of my parents and Dr. Shachar do I keep my mouth shut. But I can handle myself. My poor deceased father and 80 year old mother cannot. I have just my mama left and Dr. Shachar, C'mon, you have always been there for our family. Please do not allow your front staff girls to be so rude. This in no way reflects my mother's feelings.
