Wish I could leave a negative numbers of stars. Have a Chalazion and scheduled an appointment to have it looked at and was very clear when scheduling that this was the only thing I needed as I have an eye doctor. They told me that I needed to do all of the normal eye exam tests before the doctor would see me. I refused since I already had an eye exam back in August with my regular eye doctor. They refused to let the doctor see me for the chalazion unless I did all the tests. I argued that the tests were not necessary since 1. I already had them this year and 2 I was there for the chalazion only and would not be returning for any other treatments. I'm guessing they just wanted to perform unnecessary tests so they could charge me or my insurance more money. Their office manager or head woman in charge was very rude with me and would not budge on asking the doctor if he would just see the chalazion. Everyone from the ladies at the front desk that checked me in, all the way to the lady that discharged me, were very compassionate, and eager to provide anything I may have needed. Doctor Labor saw me on a Sunday during COVID quarantine just to make sure the floaters I was experiencing were not a detached retina. Thank God it was just some fluid under the retina and not a detachment. Who comes on Sunday for ONE patient? That type of passion for one's profession is nearly impossible to find nowadays. The lower rated reviews for this place are over 5 years old and if they ever were true about insurance, appointment, and call issues, they are certainly not now. ECT has been one of the best offices I've ever worked with. I was originally referred to them for a double vision due to a head injury, they got me in quickly and diagnosed my condition, then worked with my insurance to find me a Neuro-opthamologist office that would take my network. When that office had issues getting a chart, the team at ECT once again took care of everything, finding me a new referral, working with my insurance and PCP, and getting me set up with a new office who saw my promptly. While I was being treated for the accident, they identified that the vision issues I'd been having for years were due to cataracts, and were able to set up a treatment with my neuro to get them removed before the end of the year, to keep my out of pocket cost as low as possible. Not only is their service incredible, Dr. Labor is a skilled surgeon, both my surgeries went off perfectly, and the staff there are increible, caring, and willing to work with me, and help cut through the insurance red tape. Had I not gone with them, I'd likely still be trying to get treatment lined up, and at thousands more after the deductible reset. I cannot say enough how incredible this office was to work with. Their service is amazing. Their staff are skilled at their jobs and amazing people to work with, and that includes everyone, Dr. Labor and Dr. Tran, every tech that I worked with, the nursing staff that prepped me for surgery, the office staff that helped me with scheduling both my appointments there and the ones out of office and got me through the referral process, they are all amazing. Dr. Labor and his team were fantastic from start to finish during my complicated cataract lens replacement. We used the new rxSight lenses designed for people like me who had RK earlier in our lives. Dr. Labor invested two hours over three meetings before selecting this lens. He helped me understand all aspects of the surgery: benefits, potential outcomes, and risks. I would not have chosen this procedure without the time he shared with me. His staff was fabulous, too. I will miss my time with Dr. Tran, Jasmine, Randi, Carley, Ally, Meghan, Andrea, and rxSight's representative, Renee. They were highly competent, empathetic, and truly cared about my results. My new vision is beyond expectation. My left eye is 20/15, and my right eye is 20/25 for distance vision, and it is improving. My near vision is tremendous as well, especially my right eye. I was a patient last year, after having been referred by my GP. The service was great and I was pleased with the clinical staff. I called recently to make a new appointment and had a minor problem with the service on the phone. Fortunately I received a call from a representative of the firm the same day. Excellent surgeon with a well coordinated and very efficient surgical team,,,BUT,,, you have to get passed the front desk to get to that point and the front desk is not at all desirable...just cancelled an appointment for next week because of the front desk....Robin and Maggie have turned me against this office.... Had my eyes examined due to a very brief episode of double vision. The talented assistant performed several tests & procedures including the evaluation (which is better, 1 or 2?) to determine glasses prescription. I do need a new pair of glasses. Dr Patel examined my inner eye. I received a thorough follow-up exam to confirm the initial findings & Dr Labor explained the results & his judgement of what to expect. I'd highly recommend Dr Labor & his team, especially Jennifer!!! She is a treasure as a customer liaison. read more

Dr. Labor performed cataract removal surgery on both eyes. Two weeks after the surgery on my second eye (they only do one at a time) my vision is almost perfect. I chose the Trulign IOL and I won't lie, they're expensive, but completely worth being free of glasses, contacts and readers. The administrative staff was mostly friendly and professional. The outpatient surgery care was phenomenal. They are concerned about your comfort and care. Dr. Labor called me after each procedure to check in with me. My follow up care has been great. I highly recommend Dr. Labor. read more

I have worn glasses for years and have been to the eye doctor many times. This was the most horrible experience I have ever had. Dr. Rebecca Hannah wrote my prescription. I ordered 3 pairs of glasses. They came back and they were bad wrong (they wrote down a 1.00 but I've been at a 2.25 for a decade). I called multiple times and left message He's but they would not respond). I went to their office about 4:20, explained the issue to Dr. Hanna and she took the prescription, changed the numbers randomly and handed it back to me. I asked to have my eyes rechecked and she was upset and barked orders to staff to hurry up and get me processed. She never apologized for the gross error, inconvenience or problem created. She kept saying I was too young to need a stronger lense. When leaving she rudely said, in the future come in earlier (I had to squeeze in time to make the long trip back to have HER error fixed. The optical store has a question about another's possible error and have called multiple times and they will not call back. Also, on my first visit, they made me wait forever in the room so a Dr could come in to sell me a lense implant....never came. My personal experience there was unprofessional and incompetent. read more

Had crystal lens put in by Dr. Labor, the worst mistake of my life. The right eye was first Len to be but in. Not really a problem. The second was the surgery from hell. Woke from the surgery, Was in so much pain. He was told of my pain, had the nurse to give a pain pill ,and he would get back to me after all his other surgeries . I was so sick to my stomach with giving a pain pill. I just left and went home,spent time in the bathroom ,sick as hell. He later called me had me come in on a Saturday morning , not his reg hours. Then told me he had to do the surgery again, he left an air hole in left eye . Of course, scar tissue and for paying out close to 10,000 for crystal lens. Cannot take photos, cannot drive without glasses. This Dr. Labor was going to take good care of me. He is the worst mistake for a Dr, in my heart feel this man was about making money off of crystal lens. He as well told me I needed laser surgery, I asks how much that was going to cost , he said nothing. I had a 9 a.m. appointment for an evaluation for Lasik to correct a Crystalens procedure with unsatisfactory results, for which I was privileged to be paying them an additional $550. I sat there for an hour and a half, after which time I spoke up and asked whether I was still in the queue, and the apologetic staff member assured me that it would only be a few more minutes. However, she could not tell me whether the anticipated three hours for the appointment would begin once I was seen (and did not offer to check for me). After another half hour of waiting (and watching patient after patient be called back), I left, and will never go back. read more

Front desk staff is horribly rude. Davis Vision referred me to this office and the reception desk yelled saying they do not take vision insurance, sorry I do not worry for an insurance carrier, I'm doing what I was advised to do. I arrived at 1:55pm for a 2:30pm appointment. There are 10 other people in the waiting room and it is currently 2:20pm. I doubt that I will get in on time. Heed the other reviews, if you can go elsewhere do so. Overly entitled staff, no respect for what are obviously CUSTOMERS not patients. My wife and I attended the inaugural Red Circle Foundation (RSF) charity fundraiser last year in San Diego and we were fortunate enough to bid on a Lasik Surgery package provided by Dr. Labor. Dr. Labor donated an amazing package to support RSF so they in turn could raise funds in direct support of the families of fallen special operators. The package included a round trip flight from San Diego to Dallas, a 4 night stay at the Hilton and Laser Eye Surgery. Jan Little, Dr Labor's right hand, was so professional, organized and detailed oriented when it came to planning out our entire trip. We were blown away! They sent me to one of the top Eye Surgery Centers in San Diego for all my Pre-Ops. Jan was in constant contact with us from start to finish. I can't express enough about how wonderful our whole experience was from the planning, organization and attention to detail. Not to mention that once we arrived to our hotel, we were welcomed with a bottle of wine and cheese plate, compliments of the Eye Consultants of Texas. When we walked into the center for my pre-op and dilation we immediately felt at home. We were welcomed with warm smiles and hugs. Everyone was very professional and accommodating! Dr. Labor is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I was a little nervous about my surgery but he made me feel right at ease!! He explained the entire procedure to me before my surgery so I knew exactly what to expect. Then he talked me through each step, again, during my surgery! The surgery went spectacular and they were very diligent about checking in on me while I was recovering. My vision is now better than 20/20! I highly, highly recommend the Eye Consultants of Texas. If you value your time you will want to pass on Eye Consultants of Texas. I don't often complain. However my eye check took over 2 1/2 hours. I was left in a cold room with my eyes dilated for, no kidding, 50 mins before the doctor came in. She apologized saying they were running behind. Two days later my wife had a very similar experience. Her appointment took just 2 hrs. I'm now back in the waiting room with a crowd of folks. I had a 130p appointment. It's 210p. And the nurse just informed everyone that she is terribly sorry but they are running over an hour late. Oh yes, why am I back you may ask. They got my prescription wrong. The glasses are wrong for my left eye. One last thing. Be prepared to be told you have dry eyes. I was along with my wife. I have never had dry eyes. We were given a sample and a script for very expensive eye drops. I passed on filling it. Sitting here I hear that a good number of the people waiting are here for "dry eyes."No doubt the doctors are getting kickbacks from the eye drop makers! On the upside the waiting room is nice - coffee and snacks. It's now an hour after my appt and I am still in the waiting room. If you value your time steer well clear of this place. read more

My optometrist said I was beginning to develop cataracts and recommended I contact an ophthalmologist. Eye Consultants recommended cataract surgery though they would not tell me if this needed to be done now, or if it could wait a couple years. I went ahead and scheduled my first eye to be done and then had to listen to their hard sell about upgrading my lens. The day before my surgery I received a call saying that the surgical facility was out of network and that I would be responsible for a payment of $1,100. Since surgery had been scheduled for 6 weeks I don't know why they waited until the last minute to inform me. I said I wanted to cancel my appointment. The office contacted me again and said they would do it for $250 which they said was my insurance company's co-pay for this procedure. I called my insurer and was told that since I had met my out of pocket for the year there should not be any charge. I will find an ophthalmologist shows as much concern for their patients as they do for their profitability. read more

I just returned from my one year check-up with Dr. Rebecca Hanna, now Miller! I had cataracts removed from both eyes and had nano flex implants. My vision is 20/20 in one eye and 20/15 in the other. The whole experience was amazing. The staff & Doctors were so great to work with and I would reccommend this procedue be done as soon as you know there are cataracts. Dr. Labor is a very good surgeon. However, the office staff leaves a lot to be desired... Expect to spend1 to 2 hours waiting to see the Dr. (after a scheduled appt time). Overall experience for office visits is very bad. Multiple issues with staff, scheduling, and even Dr. Labor. I asked him a question regarding my eyedrops and got no response... as he started to leave the exam room, I told him I expected an answer and he got very defensive and condescending. I have an autoimmune disease that causes eye gland to swell. The receptionist would not let me see him. I have to see the optometrist first. I told her that I do not need glasses or contacts but she said that I have to see her optometrist first and then if they say that I do need to see Dr. Labor, then I can make an appointment. My primary care and rheumatologist sent referrals but still no appointment. She says he only does LASIK. Does he only see patients that would make him money and not patients that need continuing care? I WOULD NEVER go to him just to be treated poorly by the receptionist. read more

The service provided by Dr. Labor and his team couldn't be more interesting and was a great learning experience! For example, my scheduled appointment was the morning of Monday December 5th. Dr. Labor never showed up but I put the time to good use familiarizing myself with all the road construction and diversions near his office (114 is a real mess). And they were great enough to reschedule my appointment for the 7th in the middle of the day! Which gave me lots of time to catch-up on sports since the drive from my office west of Fort Worth is an hour or so each way. I finally was able to see Dr. Labor on December 7th and discovered how terrifically efficient the office works! They asked me to pay the moment I arrived and the whole process probably took no more than 60 seconds. I still don't have a Statement of Services Rendered but it has only been a week and I have only asked for it twice. Great job! I hope to be able to file for reimbursement this year. It is Christmas! Boy is Dr. Labor busy but they can be very accommodating when they need to be - and if money is involved. On the 7th after oh...40 minutes?...of exams a Staff Optometrist told me I definitely needed surgery on both eyes. Not what I wanted to hear but it is what it is. I did ask her if I was actually going to see Dr. Booth (after his no show on the 5th I wasn't so sure). But she said I would see him and I did! Those few minutes went pretty fast but he did affirm the OD's decision on surgery. Unfortunately, when he left his staff told me they schedule me in 2012, which was unfortunate as we have a couple of thousand dollars on our Flexible Spending Account that we need to use or lose by year end. So, the bad news on not being able to have Dr. Labor perform surgery by year end was offset by the no-interest financing they would give me! This is clearly a great financial opportunity for me - lose FSA money but get a no interest loan for the lenses! Thank you Dr. Labor! Because Dr. Labor couldn't do my surgery this year, as he is clearly so busy (I feel sorry for him because that waiting room is jammed all the time), I was able to find a surgeon who could squeeze me in this year - Dr. Slusher teaches at UT Southwestern and was the Head of Ophthalmology at Baylor Medical Center. I asked Eye Consultants of Texas for my Medical Records on December 9th as I have a pre-op appointment with Dr. Slusher on the 14th and surgery a week or so after that. And, wouldn't you know it! As soon as I scheduled another surgeon, Dr. Labor 'suddenly' had an opening in 2012! Who knew???? I still haven't got my medical records from Dr. Labor. I have only made 3 requests including a letter which I personally delivered. His customer-oriented team told me they have the right to take up to 15 days to give me the records...which of course doesn't help my pre-op or surgery at all. The good news is Dr. Labor's staff keeps confirming how busy he is, that my records are on his desk, and he will review them as soon as he gets a chance! Terrible experiences with each of the last 3 visits over 4 years. You can tell when an office cares about its patients by how much they also value your needs and your time. These people could care less about you. They never, never return calls as they say they will. If you have an appointment expect to wait over 2.5 hours for the 15 mins you have with very rushed doctors. Go elsewhere. I am for my future eye care. read more

Dr. Labor was a fantastic doctor and surgeon. The problem is that you have to deal with his staff which dropped the ball on me on several occasions: 1) On my first visit I was quoted one price and charged another. 2) On my day of surgery, they called me and told me to come early for my surgery since they were running ahead of schedule. I ended up in pre-op for at least 2 hours before my surgery. My back hurt so bad from laying on their hard bed that I had to have pain medication when I went into the operating room. 3) A few days after surgery, I went to my pharmacist to get prescriptions filled, but the office failed to call in my prescriptions. I had to get prescriptions from my regular ophthalmologist. Then I had to wait 4 days over the weekend to get my medication since the pharmacist didn't have it in stock. All which could have been prevented if they had done their job and called the prescription in to the pharmacy when they were supposed to! 4) Wait times for appointments are absolutely ridiculous. Each time I was there at least 15-20 people were waiting to see the doctors. And then they take you around and drop you off from station to station and wait even longer to see the next technician or the doctor. 5) On the day of a minor follow up surgery, the surgery center called me 1 HOUR prior to my scheduled surgery to tell me how much I money I needed to pay. I told them that I had already fulfilled my deductible and out of pocket costs for the year. Of course with only an hour, I had no chance to talk to the insurance company to get the costs straightened out. I cancelled my surgery and told them I would take my business elsewhere. 6) Then to top it off, after having spent around $12,000 for surgeries, they told me it would cost me $20 and 15 business days to get my records.
