I like the place. Lots of parking options esp if you go there around the time we went (Sunday morning before lunch) by the street/behind the store. Nothing fancy about it just homemade comfort food. It's like you're eating in some tito's or tita's house with nice friendly faces around you. Lots of food variety. I was with my toddler and husband and they both enjoyed the buffet that this place usually have every weekend. I finished eating before them so I did some light food shopping within the store. Relax ambiance, people are in and out, and really not too crowded compared to Jersey City/NY areas that we regularly visit. The place was clean and medium size not too little or big to roam around, the service was fine, and right before leaving my husband paid both the buffet and groceries by the door so we left conveniently and happy. We'll surely be back.

This is a secret gem in New Jersey. This place is a Filipino market with a kitchen in the back. You can usually grab a great deal for food for less than $8. On the weekend they do the buffet, which is amazing Filipino food! The buffet is self serve and you get your drink before you come to the dining area. There is limited parking in the back, so in case you have to find street parking.

Great Food! We love the selection of dishes that they make. The only Filipino store that doesn't disappoint.

We also had the Bicol Express, which was spicy and simple. There is plenty of street parking plus extra parking in the back. I also like that they sell small grocery items inside the restaurant. The service is not as friendly as I remember from the Elmwood Park days, but the food still makes up for it. I'll always stay loyal to Mama Fina's. Small fact is I actually met Mama Josefina herself.

It is very casual. - Pork Sisig (5/5): some of the best Sisig I've had. The pork belly is SO crispy even after we were almost done eating! The sauce wasn't too overpowering and heavy. Loved the fresh zing of the red onions. The spicy one is the way to go. - Garlic Fried Rice (4.5/5): I could eat this on its own. So good. The rice was a bit mushy but otherwise great taste - Kare-kare (4/5): a soupier variation of the peanut based sauce I've tried. The oxtail chunks were tender, but all sliced really thin and very few pieces of each. Also lacking a bit in the green beans and okra- flavor was good though. I like the Sisig the best. Only a bit bummed by the high price and small portion sizes

Well, for $11.99 for a combo meal consisting of rice with two dishes and a drink, you can't ask for more better place. The folks that work here reminds me of grandma's cooking in the kitchen. The meals are incredibly delicious. The place is very plane fast food restaurant. It is a Turo-Turo style restaurant. All the main dishes are there to chose from. This place is not a fancy restaurant like Max, but you certainly won't spend $100 for dinner for two. I highly recommend this restaurant. Try next time you're in Jersey City, NJ

Classic dishes include pancit, adobo, sinigang, kare-kare, and lechon. They even include dipping sauces on the side. Dessert is included, however if you want to indulge in halo-halo that comes at a separate charge but worth it. Seating area is large and tables are plentiful. There is no table service, but it's not needed or missed at the self service Sunday buffet. The operators are busy hustling food and answering phones but chat with a smile when asked questions. Such good Filipino food, plentiful and at a great price should be bookmarked in your favorites.

As a Filipino I'm going to be very honest about this place…read more First the food. Food quality was great. I ordered the longsilog which is egg with Filipino longaniza over rice. But, and there is a but. The food quantity for the price is way too little for way too much. $16 for a plate of rice and eggs and 3 pieces of longaniza. That's too expensive for how much you get imo. If I had at least 2 more pieces of longaniza I'd maybe accept that price but damn. I mean business is business but the price for the food quantity could be better. Service is acceptable. We got our order he gave us the order. We paid with card and I'm pretty sure we got a credit card fee he didn't mention but I let it slide. Ambiance. The place looks like someone's living room and a kitchen inside. You can't eat in there and imo the place has a lot of fire hazards. Not a place you can eat in comfortably and it's more of a take out place. What to expect when you go here. Decent food that's overpriced with acceptable service and you cannot eat in since they haven't done much to clean the place. My advice, just order out and if you don't care about crazy delivery fees from your favorite take out app, then you won't care about the price you pay for the food you get.

I really really wished the food was good but unfortunately it missed on the most easiest things to make - topsilog and longanisa. The bacon egg n cheese sandwich on a roll my husband said was really good. Maybe i caught him on the wrong day but topsilog isn't hard. I feel he took leftover tocino and refried it. I hope i am wrong but today wasn't good. Sorry

The Chicken Sisig, Palabok, pork BBQ and sizzling Biko with ice cream are a must-try from the food menu. The appetizers, like the piping hot vegetable lumpia and their humongous portion of Halo-halo as dessert are highly recommended by me and other reviewers. When we dined at this place, the whole staff gave me a feeling as if I was eating at an aunt's house, with the owner and staff providing very welcoming, family-style care. I have been living in NY for more than 30 years, have already eaten in so many low and high-end Filipino restaurants, in terms of food quality and taste, I may say this by far is the best that I have experienced. If given the chance to be in New Jersey again, I will definitely, 100% be back to this place for their delicious and flavorful food. Some of my companions point out that the seating area is relatively small, which can lead to limited availability during peak times, and a few note the interior decor is fairly plain but it did not matter to me because the food that I ordered/tried were great and amazing (properly spiced, cooked very well and soooooooo delicious!! ). Food portions are generous, presentation was appetizing and excellent, staff service was attentive and great ( I noticed that our water glasses were always filled up which is a service very consistent in so many high-priced restaurants that I have been ). Table setting is good, food utensils and plates were very clean ( yes, I checked it! ). I am extremely satisfied with my food experience and the hospitality of the owner and their staff in this Filipino restaurant. HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE!!!

Service wasn't that great and we were the only customers there at the time then other guest staggered in . I'm all for restaurants thriving and always wish them luck but holy cow prices are crazy average appetizers are $16.50 or more and entree dishes are $25 or more for serving sizes and flavors are really lacking in a lot of dishes . Lechon was cut thinner not the usual big chunks and the oil tasted old and was greasy . Sinigang with the Baboy was very underwhelming the Baboy wasn't boiled down enough . The sisig has too much of a soy sauce taste and way too much mayo on top . The chicharron bulaklak was okay could have used a bit more seasoning and seemed to be a popular item that day . The BBQ stick was decent but not for $18 . Being Filipino myself I know everyone has their own way of making certain dishes so people may like it but in my opinion I've had better at a few other spots . Wishing them all the best .

Of all, I can recommend their pork sisig, crispy pata, and fresh lumpia, everything else was bland and lacked the usual ingredients. The tortang talong was mainly scrambled egg could barely taste the eggplant. The palabok only has a few shrimps and veggies, halo-halo is not something you would want from here. By the way, I just wish they would focus on cuisine that should emphasize their own, I believe they represent Filipino food. And I need to mention that their price is on the higher end, I find some to be even more expensive than the Max's restaurant not too far from them, which never disappoint by the way. Service- well, we went on a non-busy time, only one table was occupied actually. Nobody from the staff welcomed us, we had to look for someone working there, one lady who was just sitting asked how many we are without standing her butt off from where she's at and told us to just pick any table we want. Seems not a pleasant lady but there was actually a group that she welcomed when we were about to leave, so I guess they're only nice to people they see often, are we coming back?
