First timer at Phiz...I saw Erin and I love her spunky, no-nonsense personality. First off, the place is very nice and cozy. The spa "table" was like lying on a puff of clouds. I could have easily napped. Erin is knowledgeable in her "craft" and didn't try to upsell services as I was still on the fence about a few treatments that she offers. Wow, I just got off the phone with Erin the owner of this business. My heart is racing, my hands are shaking. I tried to end the call 4/5 times. Holy Wow. I've been around the block, I'm old :-) and I can honestly say I've never had an owner of a business need to be right so badly. She was condescending, disrespectful, combative and downright unpleasant. I'll save you the gory details, but in short I was upset they charged me full price for a service without verbally disclosing they were going to charge me. Erin said they told me on the phone when I made the appointment, which is untrue. She said they emailed about their cancellation policy. I told her I didn't open the confirmation email (because my appointment was the following day). She said you should have read our website .... I said I didn't have time to review their website .... or even thought to read their "cancellation" policy. When I texted the next morning around 6:00 am and said it would be better if I could move my appointment to the following week. I was told no problem at all, that they let the stylist know, and someone would call me back to reschedule when they opened, and they did. Not one mention during those interactions of the fact they were going to charge me full price. I told Erin if I would have known, I would have worked it out so I could have been there. She said, Oh! So you could have made it! And accused me of trying "to take money from her staff." Wow Mind you, this appointment to tint my eyebrows is probably no more than 20 minutes. Today, on the phone, I finally just told her to keep my money because she would not let me talk. At one point I said, just listen to how you are talking to me. After the snotty text messages, and this terrible phone call, there was no way I wasn't going to share my experience in this review. She said don't threaten me; and I said oh heck yeah, this is exactly how customers share a very bad experience. I told her I was doing her a favor when I requested a face to face to discuss my feelings that her policies were not transparent (she couldn't meet face to face, but called me). She could have just said, I'm so sorry you feel you weren't well informed, how can we fix it, we would like to keep you as a new client. But she proceeded to accuse me of trying to "take down a small business" and that "I was trying to get away with getting my money back." Erin needs to learn some conflict resolution skills and business customer service 101, don't scold new clients and sometimes it is okay to acquiesce. (It is very apparent Erin is the type of person who will have to respond and she will share that this encounter was all my fault, I have read some past negative reviews, but it doesn't even matter who was at fault, the way she treated me was unprofessional.) I hope that $50 was worth it. read more

I went here for a facial a few weeks ago and had a great time. It felt very safe given the state of the world right now. The facial space was very peaceful. It was a little weird to get extractions done before any cleansing (but this was not the main focus of the facial) however, the whole process was very relaxing. I had a nice face mask applied and a great hand and feet massage. The use of hot towels with essential oils was great and made for a very soothing experience. Second time here. SO CUTE! Erin is incredibly nice. Very relaxing. I got the $50 deluxe pedicure. Probably would just do the basic or classic next time. If you like a strong massage as a part of your pedicure this probably isn't the place for you, but the quality of work, products used, calming atmosphere, and over-all experience is well worth returning! This is a GREAT place to take friend's and have a girls day socializing and having treatments done together. There is a balcony and seating area that is cozy. Erin plays soothing music, offers you tea or lemon iced water, gives you a hot pack for your neck, and has big cozy recliners to sit back in while you get treated like royalty! I'm certainly a fan. I had my first Brazilian here back in June. Even though I was excited, it's still pretty scary. I was scheduled with Erin since it was my first time. I went with a friend for moral support. Erin was amazing! She was very kind and made sure that I knew exactly what was going on before she did anything. Beside the pain, it was a great experience and I've rescheduled every month since then. Erin also noticed my eyebrows and we decided she would wax them the second time I went in. I went to Phiz Spa for my second visit. When I made my second appointment with them, the cost for the service was advertised as $60.00, same cost as my first visit. I went in, had my treatment, felt very relaxed because it was done well, and then am handed the bill for $85.00. I ask for clarification and why I wasn't notified about the price change before my service. The Aesthetician told me they had discussed changing their prices for 2-3 months and they advertised on social media and in the office. I explained I don't follow their social media nor ever saw any posting about an increased price at their location. I asked why they didn't notify me and why they stated $60 on their website when I made my appointment. If they knew about the price change for months, that should have been advertised verbally to me or on the website. She responded "well, we didn't message each individual person. The best I can do for you is charge you $75." Frustrated and no longer relaxed, I just paid that price. I would have spent that much anyway since I had initially planned to tip her. After this interaction, I went onto their Facebook and Instagram. I could not find anything on either page about their price changes. There are so many things this business could have done to remedy or prevent this situation such as honoring the price or directly informing their clients about the price change. The owner did end up calling me a couple days later, gave a kind apology, and explained the reasons that led to them overlooking the communication of the price change. Be careful! Don't talk or chew too loud at Phiz Spa! After years of loyal patronage, Erin, owner of Phiz Spa, suddenly began attacking me verbally (and in one case, physically by cutting my finger during a manicure). She began making unfounded accusations regarding my "inappropriate behavior" in her salon, including speaking with other clients, all of whom were friends of mine - oh no! Another complaint is that I chew too loudly and asked her to change my service once (in two years) after I arrived at the salon. After I responded to her latest round of insults, she suggested I receive services elsewhere. This is absolutely fine with me, however I have an outstanding $80 gift certificate that she refuses to refund. Sad that she's so strapped for cash that she can't make an exception to her inflexible salon "rules." read more

When I have had deep tissue massages, from other spas, I have had to ask several times throughout the appointment for more pressure. Not with Christina! I got a spray tan from Erin. The appointment was very rushed- felt like I had to frantically undress since she was in a hurry (I showed up 15 min early). The tan turned out pretty well overall, however, my wrists were quite dark and my hands were left completely white- not a great look. I evened it out at home with self tanner. read more

This was my first time going to Phiz Spa and it was great! Carrie did an excellent job with my facial & took into account any concerns I had regarding my very sensitive skin. I didn't have any redness or a rash like I've had with other places that over exfoliated my skin. I loved the mini-massages you get while your masks set. All in all a relaxing, wonderful experience. I'd been going to Phiz Spa for my massages for years. In fact my kids would occasionally give me gift certificates since they knew that's where I went most often. Not to say they were the best I'd ever had, but they were consistent and always nice to deal with. One of my daughters gave me a gift certificate for my birthday in March of 2017. Because of a new job and all the craziness that comes along with it, I wasn't able to use it in 2017. But with a long planned tropical vacation coming in April, I booked a massage once again with Phiz Spa. While talking to individual on the phone I told her that I received the massage last spring as a gift from my daughter, but hadn't been able to use until now, and I was excited to get a deep tissue message due to the stress of the new job. All was fine, she booked me for my appointment on April 11th, told me to print the certificate and bring it with me when I came in, and I was good to go. The following week I arrived for my massage appointment, filled out the paperwork, (which includes birth date), and everything was going fine. The masseuse did a great job but when I went up to the counter to square everything up the manager informed me that my gift certificate had expired on March 11th. I looked at the gift certificate and showed here there was no such language stating an expiration date, she informed me it was on the email in the fine print and I must have missed it. I couldn't believe it. It was exactly a month to the day that it was purchased and after asking her if she could honor it she said no. I told that I didn't think it was right that it could expire as Phiz Spa had been paid in full, there was no loss or impact to them whatsoever. The money my daughter had paid Phiz Spa surely didn't have an expiration date on it. Furthermore why didn't they mention it while I was making the appointment? I looked at the email when I got back home and sure enough it states it in the fine print. I hope it was worth it Phiz Spa. They lost a customer and I won't be recommending them to any of my friends or family in the future. read more

Erin (owner) has given me MICRONEEDLING treatment 2x in the last 3 mos, and the results have *by far* exceeded expectations. I'm 34 and have had hormonal acne all my life. Then, about a year ago, a traumatic event elevated my stress hormones and caused an explosion of cystic acne that scarred my face and killed my confidence. When I first saw Erin, I was really broken out, so she gave me an acne extraction facial before microneedling... Wow! Within 48hrs, my acne was GONE; scars visibly reduced, and my skin was supple and glowing. Totally effective as an all-in-one treatment for wrinkles, scars, and aging/collagen production. Even the zits she had to lance healed up, almost immediately. And it DOESN'T HURT OR MAKE YOU BLEED; slightly uncomfortable in some areas, but nothing like the pics you see by Googling "microneedling"... My face wasn't even that red, and I'm vampire-level pale. After realizing I wouldn't be able to make my early morning appointment due to the snow and ice storm that ended up being projected worse than I expected, I called and left a message I wouldn't be able to make it due to the snow and ice. Mind you I live 40 minutes West of the Spa where we were hit with the storm early morning and driving was NOT safe for me. I was shocked to see they charged me for canceling last minute due to weather conditions (weather conditions I can not change). I was told the staff made it no problem and other clients called days ahead of time to reschedule. Not only was I met with NO understanding but I was compared to others that my actions weren't just. I am now being penalized with a fee for taking my safety first. Up until the time I called and left a message the night before, I was going to be able to make it. I am not going to risk my safety for a Brazilian. I will not be returning. This is NOT the way to treat a customer. read more
