As a seasoned CPT1, I have taken many courses throughout my career. Not only in CA but AZ as well. I can honestly say that I do not understand why this school is not getting higher ratings. I was hesitant to come here at first because of the ratings, but I also heard from word of mouth that it was one of the best. On the day of my registration, I marched in to speak with Maricar and I expressed my concerns and exactly what I wanted. She was extremely nice and answered every question I had. When my evening class started, I was extremely impressed even a bit intimidated lol! My teacher Sean was extremely thorough. He made you think and he really drilled the information into your brain. If you answered a question, you better be prepared to know why, where, what, and when as well! He should be a teacher at a university! His lectures are extremely informative and to be honest, I was embarrassed as a seasoned phlebotomist because I was learning things I never learned in other classes. There were things that I never even knew why I was doing in the field! Now, after this class, I know soooooo much more! I will tell you, if you decide to take this course, you won't be disappointed. Sure some things had to be changed on the syllabus due to small issues, but unless you are a big stickler for things having to go exactly how they are on the syllabus, you shouldn't have any issues. They don't affect anything in class, so it's not even worth mentioning. The point is if you want to come out extremely knowledgeable and confident in your field, go to this school. Is it pricey? A bit. Is it worth it? YES! Are you going to learn a lot? DEFINITELY! I have learned more here than any other school I've ever been to and I will say in my 30 years of schooling from start to finish, Sean is the best teacher I have ever had. He makes learning fun, engages your brain, and sends you away with more confidence and knowledge than you thought you could handle. I can't say enough great things about this place. Also, your tuition includes everything you need to get hired. They prepare you to have everything done to be hired right out of school. You will be CPR certified, background checks completed, drug screenings completed, immunizations completed. They take care of all of that. All you need to do is go and get it done. There IS NOT one single phlebotomy program that I have encountered that has done that for their students. They honestly get you ready to be hired on the spot right after you get your certs. You come out with the skills, knowledge, and even extra perks for your employer, making you a gem. The only thing you'll have to do is apply yourself in class and with job searching. So in conclusion, I absolutely recommend this school. Whether your seasoned or new, you will come out with A LOT more knowledge and skill than you went in with! I recently completed the accelerated online Phlebotomy program with Phlebotomy U, and I cannot recommend it enough! As someone who was transitioning as a licensed Phlebotomist from Washington state to California, I had many questions about the certification process and the state exam. Tiffany, the program coordinator, was absolutely amazing throughout the entire journey. She was incredibly communicative, guiding me through every necessary step of the process and ensuring I felt confident every step of the way. When any questions came up, or I seemed unsure about something, I would email Tiffany and she was quick to clarify things and was super supportive. Tiffany helped me navigate the logistics of transferring my certification and getting everything in order to meet California's specific requirements. She took the time to explain the process in detail, providing clear instructions and answering all my questions with patience and professionalism. Her support made a potentially stressful transition feel smooth and manageable. The online format was flexible and convenient, allowing me to learn at my own pace while still feeling fully supported by the Phlebotomy U team. Take the negative comments with a grain of salt. I completed the program myself and have absolutely no complaints. It may be because I am a little older and wiser but I did thorough research on all phlebotomy schools in my area. I chose FHS for MANY reasons: Been in business for 30 years, reputable internship sites, classes that fit my schedule, quickness of the program, word of mouth from friends and the office staff was patient and knowledgeable. The person that complained about not finding a Phlebotomy job obviously didn't look in the right places or put in the effort. Schools that are irresponsible and guarantee job placement Like Maric College are opening themselves up to lawsuits. Be responsible, look at the job market, do your research, start networking. There is no job market where its easy to become employed and it takes time especially with the economy the way that it is. Take Nursing - Do Nursing schools tell you how difficult it will be to find a job and that you should get your Masters Degree so employers will even look at you!?!?!? Nope, they don't. They are middle of the price range. Some schools are cheaper with a lot of out of pocket expense, some are more expensive with out of pocket expense and they all have longer programs. I am thankful I chose FHS. They walked me through the process step by step all the way up to getting my State License which took 4 months and I found a job :-). Great program! The staff really sets you up for success from start to finish. The first 3 weeks are lecture to prepare you for the national exam. They provide a booklet with all the important lecture info so you don't have to frantically take notes during class. They also provide a ton of practice questions to get you ready for the national exam. The next 2 weeks are when you practice drawing blood - first on fake arms, then on other students when you are ready. The instructors are very encouraging and supportive, and I felt well-prepared when I started my externship at a Scripps outpatient clinic. Once I finished my externship, I received step-by-step, personalized instructions for how to apply for my CA and National License. AND they offer weekly practice sessions so I can continue to practice while I look for a job. I definitely recommend this program! read more

WOW! I recently completed a course in Phlebotomy at Family Health Services (FHS) and all I can say is what a group of professionals! These guys have educated and qualified staff that far exceeds any other school alike. The personal service that they give you is second to none! Unlike other schools, these guys will take the time to walk you through any challenges that you may have. It seems like they really take a vested interest in everyone succeeding. I went to Family Health Services Training Center (FHSTC) or (FHS) to be trained and educated in Food Safety. My boss said that I had to get my San Diego certified food safety card. The training was extremely good. I have been in the food service industry for the past 25 years and have been to practically every food safety school in greater San Diego. I have to say, that this place more than exceeded my expectations! These guys have been in business in San Diego for over 20 years and they know food safety. The food safety instructor was extremely knowledgeable and made the class very interesting. The training was one of the best learning experiences that I have ever had. Stella was an AMAZING teacher and guided me through the whole process of the class. I have never taken any classes towards the medical field before so I was very nervous to join the class; however, after meeting the staff and meeting our instructor, all the nerves went away. Stella always made sure we knew the material before moving on to a new subject, which really helped us understand all the small details. This was extremely helpful as we advanced in the class because we always knew what we were talking about. This is a great school. Everyone is super nice and supportive. Instructors Tammy and Terry are exceptional in teaching phlebotomy. Tammy will critique you in areas that might need might improvement and will walk you through.
