This is an update to my previoius review. As it turns out Pho 16 restored vegan meals to their menu. Since the removal of the vegan Pho and my original review, we have ordered vegan meals from Pho 16. I am happy to report that now that the Vegan Pho has returned, it's as fresh and tasty as ever!! I would love to give this place 5 stars but honestly the service was horrible. We came in when it wasn't that busy. No one greeted us when we walked in, but you could hear the staff loudly watching YouTube videos and laughing and carrying on behind the counter. When we were seated, everything we wanted to order "they were out of." I'm starting to doubt they were out and just didn't feel like working? The pho was amazing though! For a Sunday afternoon, this place was pretty busy & the service was nice and quick. After hearing about this place from friends & seeing some pretty positive Yelp reviews my family and I decided to stop by for lunch. The prices were higher than our typical pho places so we had pretty high expectations. We ordered a Special Pho, Bun Bo Hue, & a grilled pork chop rice. The pho broth was okay but a bit too sweet for normal pho & the portion was honestly skimpy. There was a lot less noodle than usual places and barely any meat. The bun bo hue broth tasted pretty good & the noodles were good and chewy. The grilled pork chop was tender but was lacking the traditional pork chop flavor. Overall, although the food was alright, the portions were small for the prices they charge. I'm sure there are better pho places around. read more

I have been going to Pho 16 ever since they opened their doors in West Palm Beach and I can honestly say they're one of the top Vietnamese restaurants in the area. They have a pretty extensive menu from summer rolls to the rice vermicelli bowls and all are pretty wonderful. My favorites and pretty much a regular order for my family and I are the tofu summer rolls, fried spring rolls, any of the pho, rice and pork, bun bo hue, and most of all the short ribs with rice vermicelli. The pho broth is a bit sweeter than usual but I prefer it this way. The portions are more than enough and I'm always satisfied with the amount of meat that comes with all the above. They have great Vietnamese iced coffee and desserts as well. They upgraded and renovated their interior, making it a super modern feel instead of their old decorations. Though I do feel it made the restaurant a bit darker than I prefer. Overall, this place is a regular hit for me and my family! read more

Typed in Pho near me as I was in the Villages in WPB and found this little gem nearby. I usually try new places by basing with the fresh summer rolls and a seafood Pho. Rating the service was easy. It wasn't busy and they were on the ball. The rolls were plump, had a bit of cucumber and shrimp and were pretty good,not great though and a couple mini points off for the peanut sauce which wasn't too peanutee. Also it was served in a small plastic cup requiring me to ask for more. The soup however was great. As good as it gets for seafood with several shrimp, mussels, small scallops, squid just chock full of goodies and lots of noodles in a tasty broth not needing much jazzing up. Menu pictures attached. If you want good tasting Vietnamese food, go here. I eat Vietnamese food a lot and have tried many places in America as well as in Vietnam. Their food tastes the best and has the best quality out of the dozen or so I tried in the South Florida and West Florida areas. Though I have another favorite in Clearwater. Their pho broth is delicious! Good cuts of meat too. The pork spring rolls are the best! The Korean (Kalbi) ribs is another favorite. If you are vegetarian try the tofu pancake. It's good with some hot sauce. A little greasy, but a nice option on their vegetarian list. Customer service is good. Very nice people always there. The restaurant could use a good cleaning...walls are gross and tables are sometimes sticky. Other than that and no alcohol, this is my go to place with anyone I know wanting Vietnamese. I go out of my way to go there weekly as it is the ONLY good one within 30 miles to my house. read more

TLDR version: Pho is good at this location. First impression is the pho smell when you walk in the door. The smell that will soak your clothes and leave you smelling of the heavenly noodle soup for the rest of the day. My friend and I stopped by for an early lunch at 11 during a week day. We were briefly greeted by 2 menus. Their menu is larger than most Vietnamese restaurants around the area. They have authentic Vietnamese bun bo hue, spicy beef and pork noodle soup, and bun mang vit, braised duck noodle soup. I will have to try their special dishes another day because today I am on a mission to have Pho. I didn't want to risk it and get the more involved Pho special. So I went with the basic Pho tai bo vien, steak and meatball. My friend ordered the classic Pho tai. The first plate that came out has bean sprouts, basils, culantro, limes, and pepper. This had my hope up because the past 4 pho places I've been to in florida either have culantro or basil and never both. A side note: the small dipping plates were not provided and we have to ask for it to make our Pho dipping sauce. The 2 bowls of Pho cane out within a few minutes. The first spoon of soup did not disappoint. One key ingredient is cinnamon and it has the perfect balance. If it has too much cinnamon, the "pho" taste would be too strong, if it has too little cinnamon, the "pho" taste is not there. The soup scored 4/5 because it was missing something I couldn't identify, nevertheless it was a great bowl of Pho. Now comes the noodles, thinly sliced steak, and meatball. No restaurants on the east coast has fresh Pho noodles anyway, so can't say much about this generic noodles, let just say you can get the same noodles in the frozen section in an Asian market. The thinly sliced steak is perfectly cut. The meatball is good, but not as great as Pho Saigon West Palm's. The portions were perfect to fill me up for lunch. My friend did manage to clean up the bowl of pho, and I mean he didn't leave anything behind. Overall the Pho is good. I would come back to try other dishes, but my dad told me, if they have "Pho" in their restaurant name, don't get anything else but Pho. Maybe I will live life on the edge and try non-Pho dishes next time. read more

This isn't my first time here but it's the first time since they renovated. The place looks much cleaner and their new setup makes it much more spacious. The food is still good. Their menu stayed the same with a few exceptions I believe. I got the Pho 16, which is basically everything in it. Tasted great. Aroma was there and everything was on point. They gave a good amount of everything in the bowl so you had lots to eat. My cousin got the Bun Bo Cha. The presentation of the bowl was perfect. Looked very nice. The only off thing about this dish is the Bo (meat). They usually grilled it but this time it was marinated in curry, and when you mix that with the sauce that comes with it, it wasn't too great. The spring rolls were nice and fresh. They could've add more noodles in it and a little less lettuce. The staff was alright. Been here many times and they're always busy. Came here on a Sunday night with the cousin and baby cousin. We were able to get a table fairly quick, they've seem to change the menu a bit refining their specialties items. First thing to order: guoi cuon appetizer (summer spring rolls) which are my favorite, you get 2 with order split in half so you can definitely share. The cousin ordered Pho 16: which was their specialty pho- beef broth with noodles. Came in a big bowl with herbs and condiments on the side. It looked and smelled really good I ordered the Bun bo cha gio: vermicelli noodle with beef and egg roll. It was a huge bowl with mixed greens on the bottom topped with noodles and meat. The meat was prepared differently than I remember since this has always been my go to dish. Usually it's grilled with lemongrass, but it tasted like it was marinated with a curry sauce and then sautéed. I couldn't finish it all and there was a lot left. Updating my last review. We've now been to this little gem a handful of times and they've definitely upped their service and cleanliness. The food is very authentic and definitely the best Vietnamese restaurant in south Florida. We go out of our way to enjoy this place, over 35 miles each way! Located in a little plaza off of Military Trail and Community Dr, slightly hidden, Pho 16 would be easy to miss. Inside, the place reminds me of a cafeteria restaurant that you could find off the roads in Vietnam. The menu is simple, full of noodle soups, noodle bowls, and rice platters that those of us in Orlando have become familiar with. For starters, we order the cha gio, or fried spring rolls. Stuffed with pork, wood eared mushrooms, and served with a fish sauce dipping sauce, the cha gio is pretty good and tastes like it was home made. We also ordered the bo la lot, grilled beef wrapped in wild betel leaves. Betel leaves are high in antioxidants and have been used in Asia for medicinal healing, stimulants, and even breath fresheners. In Vietnamese there is a saying that "the betel begins the conversation", referring to the practice of people chewing betel in formal occasions or "to break the ice" in awkward situations. When grilled, the leaves give a peppery, minty flavor to the beef which I thought was quite nice. My order was the bun thit nuong cha gio, rice noodles with grilled pork and egg rolls in one of the largest bowls I've ever had. It was very filling and very satisfying, and overall a great value for the quantity of food. Overall, a very satisfying place to get your Vietnamese fix on while in West Palm Beach. Best Pho Bo in Palm Beach County at least at a restaurant. Broth on par with average pho in Hanoi. Brisket and rare flank my favorites here (Pho Tai Chin). I come here to get my Pho fix at least a couple times a week. Try it, you won't be disappointed, it seems to always be better closer to opening time 10:30am. This place has never been known for its service or cleanliness, but the food has always been good. However, I have noticed the service and cleanliness get worse the past several times I've been there. Today the pho didn't taste the same as it usually does. The last two times I have noticed the sauces that sit on the table have no tops on them, just open ready for Charlie Sheen and friends to swing by. So when leaving today I mentioned it to the girl and she just said "I know" and put it right back where it was when I got there. She was even starting to spray the table with a cleaner...guaranteed that chemical went in the sauce. Obviously they have no regard for people's health. So therefore I have no regard to continue to give them business. There's a new place that I noticed opened up called Pho Saigon on Okeechobee and Haverhill. I'll check that out soon and report back. I stopped by this place because I had time to kill and it had decent reviews on yelp. This place is located conveniently in a shopping center with many parking spots! I got the pho with brisket and raw beef which is a little bit less than $10. In terms of price, this is very expensive for a medium bowl of pho. Overall, the broth was hot and flavorful, but on the sweeter side. For $10, I would have expected more noodles/meat. I easily finished this bowl myself. Service was meh. Our entrees came out very quickly. I had Rice Vermicelli special which came everything; chicken, shrimp, spring rolls, pork. And oh boy it was so divine. Exactly what I've been waiting for. Not bad... In the context of the world, the food here is pretty mediocre but in the context of the Palm Beach area, the food here is pretty delicious so it evens out to 3 stars for me. I tried a bunch of things here - the pork rolls, summer rolls (with shrimp), vermicelli with grilled pork, and pho with rare beef. I thought the pork rolls, which were essentially summer rolls with pork instead of shrimp, were really good. They were flavorful and the portions were generous - actually, the portions were generous with every dish. I thought the vermicelli noodles were odd, not the stringier ones I'm used to, but flavor-wise, it suited my tastes well enough. The pho was really greasy, like it hadn't been skimmed. However, since we'd gotten all of our food to go, we ended up refrigerating it to eat later and voila, the next day there was a layer of solidified fat congealed on top of the soup. After chipping it away and fishing out any other floating fat pieces, I heated it up and it tasted 100 times better. Service was quick - we ordered take out but placed the order when we arrived and it took maybe 5 minutes for them to slap everything together. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing (for the quality of food). The employees were friendly enough, except for the one gruff lady, but Asian women aren't always super smiley nor are they ever the friendliest people in the world - I am one, I should know - so I didn't take it personally. read more

Our friend took us here for lunch. We ordered the deep fried spring rolls, only tasted the vegetables and no meat in it. I had the rare meat and meatballs pho & my husband had the special pho. The noodles were over cooked, hardly had any meat in it and the special didn't have any tripe (even though it was listed on the menu). The broth was cleared and great with flavor! Was intending to go to Art of Boba, but I saw this place and decided I wanted some Pho! We were seated quickly and the servers were quick to take our order: a summer roll and a big bowl of pho (tofu instead of beef). The inside is plain, but there are plenty of people enjoying their bowl so it seemed like it was a good place. The summer rolls are pretty standard, no complaints there, but I didn't love the peanut sauce. It was a bit too...salty for my tastes, and not peanut-y enough, but still edible. The pho came out and although I know tofu isn't normally the choice of protein for this noodle soup, they used fried tofu, which I thought was a bit strange. Fried tofu is generally spongy (and keeps better) and so the texture didn't really match with the rest of the dish. I felt like a nice firm tofu would have been the better choice to use, but it was still good. The broth was good, not particularly mind-blowing, but the portion was good to share between the two of us. tl;dr, this is a good place to pick up a nice bowl of warm noodle soup (for those cold winter SoFlo days). read more

I ordered a pho and it came out within 5 minutes. That pleased me since I was starving. However, the portion was very small. In most pho places, this would be considered kid-sized as it's smaller than most small pho bowls. Not sure if this is a Floridian phenom since this is my first pho stop since moving here. There were 3 small slices of beef and some beef balls. The beef balls and meat were bland. They also skimped on the noodles. The broth was ok. The plate of fixin's lacked an adequate bunch of basil and the bean sprouts were short and broken. It's quality might be lacking or was the bottom of the barrel. There is a sign posted on the door stating grand opening on 2/2/17. They might be working out the kinks but I think it's best to save your appetite and skip this joint. read more

We used to go here quite a bit. The service was hit and miss, but the food was very good. A tip don't ask for a fork, use chop sticks. They will bring you one fork reluctantly even if you ask for the whole table. I don't think they want you to share but not pleasant about it. Now the reason for the 2 stars (if the fork incident was not enough and it wasn't) the last time we went there they were rude to a Minority Family. We were appalled by the way they treated them and that is why we will never go back. There is no reason to be this rude to customers. read more

I had the Pho Tai, and my husband ordered the Pho Tai Chin, but he got the Pho with meatballs, tendon, as well as fatty brisket, brisket, and round steak. He didn't send it back, just picked out the tendons and fatty brisket and ate the . He had been told by a friend never to order meatballs but he actually liked the meatballs, said they tasted a lot like bologna, which he likes. I asked for extra limes and got them. The vegetables were a little wilted. The hot chili oil looked as if it had been on the table since the beginning of time, but the garlic chili sauce was fresh. The pho broth was very flavorful and meaty tasting, could have used a little more star anise for my taste, but still very good. It was clear and hot, and we finished our bowls. The noodles were good.
