#02. Pho Rare Steak and Eggrolls
    Souzana V.

After a long day of work and hungry, met up with my parents and sister for dinner. I haven't been back to this place in a long time. My dad says it used to be called Pho 79 but now it is Pho 99. I can't remember. The place looked the same, casual, and clean. The service was good and our appetizers and pho came out in good timing. Didn't wait too long. We just ordered 2 plates of plain eggrolls only, which was 8 pieces. The eggrolls were ok. I've had better, but decent. The eggroll sauce is on point. Our pho orders came out hot the way it should be. I had a medium rare steak. The amount of pho and rare steak was good for a medium bowl serving. Not too little pho or meat. The broth was good. Overall, I would come back to this place if ever in the area again.

A decent spot for Vietnamese food. For appetizers, we had pork and shrimp spring rolls with no noodles. The peanut hoisin dipping sauce with added Sriracha was perfect with the dish. The imperial rolls were delicious but I wished it was served with more than 1 romaine lettuce leaf. The pho without any condiments was okay. However, with the added onion oil, hoisin and Sriracha, the broth was much more flavorful! Tip: order your steak on the side if you like medium rare. We ordered the rice plate replacing the rice with veggies. The proteins, imperial rolls and over-easy egg were great. Again, I wished they would served it with a little more greens. Lastly, we had the bun Bo hue. There was plenty of protein and the flavor was there.

As a big Pho lover from Houston, Texas where has the most Vietnamese community in the US. If I may pretend I know Pho noodles, a lot, this store broth was bit intense tasting too much addition rather than a real original Pho beef broth. General service, friendly people and dining room was clean organized overall. Good news that the portion is very friendly big even a small size bowl.

Hi this place is amazing. I've come here a lot with my bf, it's nice to hear "welcome back." "See you next time!" Pho is good, the fries are good, boba is good! Even the water It's a friendly good environment.

This review is regarding the to-go delivery from Uber Eats. This is my 3rd or 4th time ordering from Pho 99. The portion size is decent and tasty;however, they are extremely stingy on the broth. Every single time, the broth is only 2/3 full and today was no exception. Whether you order a small or a large, you get the same amount of broth. Even if you order a small size, the broth is not enough and it is all soaked up in the noodles. They have an option to get another 32 ounces of broth for $4.95 which is a rip off! Now, every time I order 3 small size phos instead of 2 large phos so we have an extra soup to use and it is the most economical way. See picture below. This is a small sized pho with 1 and 1/2 container of broth that I used to make it look like the presentation you get at the restaurant. Please fill up the broth for your customers!

When I lived in Littleton, I would frequently eat at Pho 99. I came back to Denver for a weekend, and took my ultimate frisbee team to eat pho in Aurora. This was my first time at Pho 99 in Aurora. Upon reaching the parking lot, I saw the restaurant didn't look aesthetically appealing, and I knew the food was gonna be good! Sure enough, the food quality didn't disappoint. Broth was seasoned well and tasty. Rare steak was tender. I talked to the owner, and she said she used to own the Pho 99 in Littleton, but quality at that location may have lessened. If you're in Aurora and craving for some Pho, then swing by Pho 99!

Takeout during the pandemic? Pho 99 has it covered! The Best broth in Denver by far! Love, love, love Pho 99. The staff rocks, the restaurant is spotless, repainted and updated. The plastic bowl fits all of the broth/condiments nicely and they give you hoisin and sriracha too. I love eating there and cannot wait to eat in person once this Pandemic is over!!

Seeking out a new pho place to try in Aurora - I made my way to Pho 99 for lunch a couple weeks back. Only to discover I had been here yeeears before! Here's the highlights from my most recent visit: ++ Portions are what I've come to expect from any pho restaurant - LARGE! ++ Broth is flavorful and tasty! ++ The lunch special (medium pho, spring roll, and a soda) for $9.95 is a killer deal! ++ Service is super fast; even when they're packed full of hungry patrons! Pho 99 is def an solid place to get your pho fix in the Aurora area. I'm sure I'll be back!

My vietnamese blood cannot be picky about thìs place. We live 10 min from Asia central in federal and food here hands down beat most of our favorites. We ordered 1) clay pot fish (bone in). Huge portion. Worth it. And the flavor is authentic. 2) shaken beef. Tender. 3) to go salad combo. Even good the next day 4) bun Bo vermicelli. My hub said the best in Denver he had and he had a few 5) lotus wonton. My picky toddler liked it. 6) lemonade lychee. When you think of Vietnamese, Americans tend to think of Pho, noodle bowls and lemongrass chicken but we need more places the focuses in home cooking and dishes that locals eat. Ingredients are fresh and dishes pack a powerful flavor bomb...I mean wow! The use of shrimp paste and other traditional ingredients really elevate flavors that many Americans are not used to, but you have to try it to understand. Their claypots are a must order and with a side of rice....you'll be eating for days! The star of the night was the pork and calamari claypot which is cooked in shrimp paste and your favorite Vietnamese spices and herbs. You'll finish bowls of rice with this dish, it packs so much flavor that you'll be wanting more. It's a great mix of salty, sweet and umami from the fermented shrimp paste. The Vietnamese curry was thick and packed with succulent shrimp. The veggies at a very nice brightness to balance out the coconut milk. The last dish we had was a shrimp lemon grass in the clay pot and that was also a hit with everyone! Service is amazing and they definitely know how to recommend dishes to match your taste buds. They went out of the way to help everyone and it shows. If you need a new spot, check Dan Da!

The broth was on the lighter side and lacked depth, and the chicken itself was dry and a bit tough to chew. The vegetable egg rolls were disappointing, they were mushy on the inside and tasted like they were straight from the freezer. The Thai tea was the highlight. Not overly sweet, which I appreciated. Service was a bit hit or miss. It was busy when I came in, which is understandable, but when I went up to pay, I was ignored while the woman at the counter continued talking with her family. The first thing she commented on was how delicious the broth is. It's golden, warm, and savory like a big hug for your insides. I'm picky with my pho broth and this place is on point. The ube latte was perfectly sweet with a strong ube flavor. The crème brûlée cruffin had a top that was so crispy from the toasted sugar that I couldn't cut into it, and the bottom was just stuffed full of cream. It was super messy to eat and impossible to share- next time I am getting my own. We also had the pandan coconut cupcake, which was good but not as exciting as the cruffin. The pandan and coconut were both equally strong flavors- I liked it better than my husband did. The Thai tea cake in a cup was also excellent, but outshone by the cruffin. They were out of a few other things we wanted to try by 11am on a Saturday, so get there early if you want something specific. The gentleman running the counter was very friendly and efficient, even when they were busy. Seriously, get the crème brûlée cruffin. I know I will be back for it.

Similar fixing to banh mi, it tasted fine but the pork was rough and tasted ok. They have gorgeous pastries and Vietnamese coffee drinks, I would come back for one of those. We split a cup of cakes (cute!), Boston Thai Tea. Flavor was spot on and appreciated that it wasn't too sweet.
