Had the pho with beef, pork with rice, and duck with rice. Flavors were really good. The one downside was the hoisin sauce which has a weird after taste. Service was quick and not too crowded.
12/10 would recommend! FOOD: My sister and I shared the lemongrass chicken and the beef pho. We walked out of the restaurant very happy with full bellies. Both dishes were flavorful, masterfully cooked, and very worth the price. The chicken was juicy and the skin was crispy with a sauce that complimented the flavor perfectly. The pho broth was rich, the noodles were well-cooked, and the beef was tender. The brown sauce served with the pho was a perfect addition to the broth and paired well with a small quirt of chili sauce. We're pretty picky with our Asian food because we've had so many good, authentic dishes; Pho 14 wins for best food! SERVICE: Our server was super attentive and kind, helping us decide on our dishes with good recommendations and making sure we put together our pho in the tastiest way. AMBIANCE: The restaurant was clean, inviting, and comfortable.
On the quest to visit as many VN restaurants as we can while we're in Paris for vacation in January this year 2024 after trying all the escargots, ducks, baguettes, croissants, we came to this restaurant as the last one on the list. It's in district 13 where all the VN restaurants are. It was raining and cold, there's seating outside with plastic sheet covers, but we went inside to sit. It's quite crowded, the seatings are so close together that the waiters had to pull the tables out for the customers to slide inside, the same with when they want to leave. This is a Vietnamese restaurant but none of the people in here can speak VN, so we just ordered with the number on the menu. The food is quite good, even the egg rolls are crispy and tasty with rice papers, not sure who's the cook but they did them well. My family didn't really like the seating arrangement, a little cramped for us but we're hungry and wanted to try some new VN restaurants. The pho was good with meatballs and rare beef. I like the tendons, brisket, but there seem to have none. The broth was excellent, the meats are more chewy than other places, but good. The price is excellent, quite inexpensive, no wonder they're so crowded even in the rainy day like today. The service was fast, and it's just like a fast food restaurants, you come, you eat and you run because the seating arrangement is quite tight, you're practically sitting next to someone you don't know to have your bowl of soup. We will not go back here although the food is good but lack of meat options, the seating is too cramped for us.
Came by for coffee the other day and it was lackluster. Walked up and ordered at the counter and the iced Vietnamese coffee was 4,10 Euro. The indoor dining room has air conditioning and the exterior dining area is covered. The iced Vietnamese coffee wasn't too cold and on the weaker side...bummer. There is a 10 Euro minimum for carte bancaire. They also claim to not accept foreign credit cards.
Like the other pho 14 locations, consistently delicious pho - tender meats, robust soups, and well cooked noodles. The pho veggies are fresh. The apps are delicious too so definitely try one. This location is larger than the Opera one and service is friendly too. Highly recommend!
I'm a pho connoisseur as I eat pho 2-3x a week from the most authentic Pho restaurants in Toronto, Canada where there's a huge Viet population. I can tell you that this place is one of the better ones. Don't come here for the ambience but come for truly good food. Service is friendly and accommodating compared to another one in Paris I've been to (won't name names but will post a review on theirs). Highly recommended! Price is very reasonable too!
Wanted to try how pho was like in Paris and this was one of the most reviewed locations in Paris per Google. Some differences I notice vs. from my experience in the States (particularly in Southern California)-- -They use red chili peppers (instead of jalapeños, which make their broth spicier if you add it in) -they use wider rice noodles -they use lemons vs limes - Sriracha isn't readily available unless you ask for it (maybe it is due to table space or it is just not commonly used?) Found the broth to be sweeter as well. For 10 euros, price wasn't bad for a different experience. You can also add additional meat or noodles for an additional fee. It is cash only. Along with fast service, they are super efficient with utilizing space. You literally have to move tables to squeeze in, but hey the more the merrier! You can also dine outside as well. Our server was able to speak to us in English, which I found to be super impressive just because he also spoke at minimum - Vietnamese and French.
Even at 2:30pm, there was a line for this place. Jump into the cue and scowl at the happy diners and hope that they'll eat fast. Lol Really, not to worry, this place is quick. The line moves fast, orders are taken right away, and food hits the table promptly. You'll be eating a delicious meal in no time. Most of the patrons were eating one of the many pho soups that were available. As for me, it was all about the banh cuon AKA in Paris as "Vietnamese Ravioli." Thin rice noodle sheets are wrapped around a filling of ground pork and wood ear fungus (like a mushroom) topped with green onions and fried shallots. Pour over the bowl of orange hued fish sauce and you're good to go. This meal really fulfilled my Asian food cravings after two weeks away from home. In the 13th arrondissement, it might be a tad out of the way but give it a try and then wander Paris' Little Vietnam for a different sort of Parisian experience and enjoy being transported to Southeast Asia for a few minutes.
In A Nutshell: -Pho Banh Cuon 14 located in District 13 (Choisy, Paris, France) to me was an average pho restaurant. -I was really looking forward to venturing into this part of town, since there seemed to be a consolidation of Vietnamese restaurants. -You can sit inside or outside, but being in Paris, I recommend you sit outside. -The pho was okay. -The broth was good, but I wish they had more pho combo options in addition to more veggies and meat. -The banh cuon (which are Vietnamese rice rolls) were not very good. -If you look at my photo of the banh cuon, you can see why. Overall, I am biased when it comes to Vietnamese food. Not only am I married to a wonderful wife who can cook great Vietnamese food, but I also live in California where heavy competition brings out the best Vietnamese food you can find on the globe!
Five Vietnamese restaurants within a half block of each other, and Pho Banh Cuon is the only one with a queue ("line" in American). At peak times expect to wait a half-hour or so. They pack them in pretty tight here and the food comes out really quickly. The management does not encourage people to stick around and linger. Fantabulous pho, which I would expect in a restaurant in Paris. In case you've forgotten, the French used to run Viet Nam. Very brief menu with perhaps a dozen or so items, mostly around big bowls of steaming pho and some spring rolls. Large or small. There's enough in a large one to share, which is a deal for 7€. I don't really recommend it, as the noodles are quite long and tend to fall back into the soup. I had the beef pho, which had several thin strips of grilled beef with a couple of meatballs. Loads of noodles and vegetables in there, I was tempted to toss in a few of the garnish red peppers until I was warned that they are extremely hot. I also enjoyed my first Vietnamese beer, conveniently named 'Saigon'. Good stuff. Great meal, good service, a short wait. I would absolutely return!
Very tasty pho. I asked for it spicy and got my butt whooped. Writing this review while pouring sweat because I didn't want to stop eating because it was so tasty!
This is the only time I've ever had to wait in a long line for pho and it's also the only time that I've ever seen such a diverse clientele for pho! The broth was really good and they served the northern pho, with the thicker noodles. It came with super spicy peppers that made my eyes water. We also got the Vietnamese pork dumplings with pork slices. And they had my favorite drink at pho places, coconut juice! Score! Love this place especially hit my Asian food craving on my euro tour!
Generous portions for the price and solid for a city compared to other places I've been to. The pho tasted fine - comfortably in the range of yep, that's pho. Service was Asian level, which is expected as this place appears to be in a Chinatown/Asian district. Interior atmosphere also felt like a standard Asian restaurant with a mix of indoor and outdoor seating for small groups. read more

solid pho. big portion and generous with the amount of meat. imo ngoc xuyen saigon is much better but i wanted to try this place out. pho tai chin had a very strong cinnamon smell which was interesting but didn't taste like it so it was good. lots of seating surprisingly and decent ac for paris! server knew english and was nice :) they let me solo dine and journal for a bit which was great but i think it's just because it wasn't super busy. they say they don't take foreign cards but i used my capital one venture x and it worked fine so .. i think travel cards r probably exempt from that. 12.40€ for a ginorm bowl what a good deal. left full and happy read more

You know you are kind of missing some type of Asian food in France so you decide to try this spot off a friend's recommendation. This place was busy when we came here for a late lunch or early dinner. We sat outside on these little tables and chairs. The pho broth was kind of healthy and light. I had the rare beef pho and it is for sure missing the oiliness of how it is in Los Angeles. But it was still pretty alright. I did like the noodles which were more of the northern style noodles. Which is a little bit thicker rice noodles. If you are missing and wanting something Asian this could hit the spot for you. read more

After a couple of days of just baguette, cheese, and meats, we wanted to get some Asian food. We found this place through Yelp and wanted to see how different pho is in Paris. We came right before dinner time so we were seated immediately. We ordered the large classic beef pho. The owner was very nice and noticed that we weren't locals. He asked us about the pho in NY and how it compared to his place. He also asked us to compare the sizing - large in Paris is definitely much smaller than the large in NY, interesting. The food came within minutes and I loved it. The soup base was rich and flavorful. I hate soggy noodles, and they made it perfectly. They also give a generous amount of meat, I couldn't even finish everything! Just under 10 euros, you can be happy in this cold. We ordered a viet coffee to-go. I'm usually not a huge fan of viet coffee, but this one was good! I wish I ordered other things to try and compare. Next time! Cash only! read more
My friend told me to try the pho in Paris. She said it was really good. So I went to this place because of the reviews. And I wasn't disappointed but I wasn't amazed like "omg this is the best pho ever". The pho pricing was weird, for I think about .50 euros more you can get a large. A small cost about 7.10 euros. The noodles were those big ones again (why do different countries do this?! It's suppose to be the thin ones not the Chinese chow fun ones) the meat was really tough. I did not like chewing it. The broth was flavorful but salty. Tastes like they accidentally added fish sauce. I mean it wasn't bad but it's definitely not the best if tried. It's good for Paris. California is were there's really good pho, bigger viet community too! Anyway I also got the green rice jelly dessert drink, good as I remembered. And the eggrolls here is really good! They use white rice paper and it's quite small but very good! Not too shabby for pho in Paris. read more
I go here every time I'm in Paris. Their broth is rich. I've always gotten #1 except for once. The bean sprouts are always of quality. The fried rolls always come out fresh and tongue-burning hot. I always add hot sauce, peppers, bean sprouts and lime juice. My pho needs to be a nice shade of orange/red before consumption. Snag a spot before a queue forms! I tried Bamboo or something else like that, but this has been my staple pho place. One negative is that the place is quite small, so it gets cramped very quickly inside. Also, for some reason they offer more meat than noodles in their pho. Hey, I'm a carnivore. I ain't complaining. read more

This place is super popular and very crowded during meal times and I can understand why. The food is delicious, but because it is so popular, it can be a sort of uncomfortable place to dine. There isn't really much place to sit and you actually have to move the tables around to get to your sit if you're seated against the wall. This is slightly annoying but also sort of endearing. When it comes to the food, it is priced very reasonably and the pho is some of the best I've had. The noodles are thicker than at many other pho places, which I liked. They were cooked perfectly and I liked the slightly chewy consistency. The soup is very hearty and was so nice to have on a cold night. They also provide a very large amount of bean sprouts and herbs for the soup, which I appreciated. We also ordered some che thai for dessert which was really good as well. It wasn't overly sweet and I liked the texture of the jelly and tapioca a lot. This is a fun place for a quick bite but don't expect amazing service or a fine dining experience! read more
Because on every vacation my husband has to look for pho. We found this on yelp and decided to go search for it. We sat outside and the tables are Literally right next to each other. Like elbow to elbow. Lucky we didn't have anyone anyone next to us. We both got the Dac Biet, raw thin beef, meat ball, tripe and some flank. They bring you the veggie tray and the plate of hoisin and lemon. The Hoisin is way different from the US. It's not as deep and rich flavor. I also ordered their cafe su da, which i expected to come strong as well. It was much more mild. Just try their pho. read more

** Warning : cash only !!! Got a classic beef pho and was happy about the amount of beef included. I really like how the onions come on the side in addition to the bean sprouts and fresh lime. This is not the best pho I have had but it is one of the best options in Paris and will definitely satisfy your pho cravings. It is the perfect dish on a rainy Parisian day. Inside, the restaurant is pretty clean and warm, but the seats are not the most comfortable. read more
I got a dish called Banh Cuon Tay Ho in the States... (but it's just banh cuon here) and it is so good at this restaurant. Here, they make it with clear, mung bean (or could be potato) sheets compared to rice sheets (which is what I'm used to). It's more chewier and flavorful because it sucks up all the fish sauce and it's not dripping all over the place like it does wrapped in rice paper. A serving size consists of 5 "dumplings" laid on a bed of beansprouts, paired with 8 slices of cha (ground pork slices), and freshly sprinkled fried onions and cilantro. It's a simple dish but packed with so much saliva-inducing flavor. Lines are always long as it's a well-known restaurant in the area but try to beat the crowd during off-meal times! Also, you gotta physically line up if there's a wait line but it usually moves pretty quickly. read more

This place is actually called Pho 14, so I don't know why it shows up as Pho Banh Cuon 14 on Yelp. We had to take the Metro here for some great pho. The noodles are fresh so a little bit more chewy. 10 euro for a large Dac Biet which is pretty reasonable for Paris as I had to pay 22 for fish and chips by the Eiffel Tower cafe. It comes with three meat balls which is a plus as most stateside Dac Biet doesn't even offer meatballs. A little salty which you will need to lime to sweeten the broth. Great pho. read more

Oh Mon Dieu! Soooooooo good! Officially had my first bowl of Pho (ever!) here, and thanks to everyone on Yelp that we were able to find this!! Went here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, can't remember what time.... but there was definitely a line. However the line moved real fast. We knew that this must be the sh&t, since no other restaurant had a line waiting. We would patiently wait... My friend that I was traveling with is Vietnamese, so she's clearly had a couple bowls of Pho before. And she advised me that good Pho is all about the broth. We ordered some spring rolls (I think they were pork?) that were very lightly deep fried - - they were so good! They came with lettuce leafs to wrap them with, some mint leaves, and a really nice sauce. Plus then we both had Pho. My friend ordered everything actually for us (in Vietnamese). I trust her -- it was so good! She said that it was probably the best she's had. We also had the iced coffees. I'm more of a hot coffee fan, but these were delicious! Make sure that you stir it enough, so that it becomes a lighter color. (That's what my friend had a advised me.) Oh, and BTW this is a tiny, tiny restaurant. They totally pack the customers in. So just be prepared for that. Sooooo good... seriously, sooo good!! read more

Standard Pho here. Their broth is more 5-fived/sweeter infused than what I am accustomed to. The steak pieces were pretty lean not fatty. Noodles were standard. A little more wider than the typical rice noodles served in So Cal. Probably prefer the pho I have had in So Cal. With that being said, the only true good pho I have had was in Vietnam and sadly nothing including this place has come close to the great pho I had over there. I wouldn't highly recommend this place for pho lovers though. Will not be a returning customer here. Much better food options when I'm in Paris, only came here because the father wanted to try it out. read more

I was really excited about this restaurant, seeing as most Vietnamese restaurants in Paris are some mix of Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, etc. When we arrived, there was already a line of 15 people waiting for a table. Luckily we were a party of two and waited only a few minutes before we were seated next to a larger party. This review is a little biased. Since I'm Vietnamese and grew up in an area heavily saturated with Vietnamese immigrants, I've been spoiled with the authenticity of all the Vietnamese food around me. Having since moved to Paris, its just sometimes easier to pop into Tang Freres and make a dish myself instead of being disappointed in a Viet/Thai restaurant. I would have given the restaurant 4 stars, perhaps if I had tried the pho, or maybe even the banh cuon. However, I did the equivalent of going to a steakhouse and ordering a pork chop. We ordered the Bo Bun Cha Gio, which is beef with vermicelli and egg rolls. For some reason, I wasn't really craving a hot soup, probably my mistake. When the dishes came out, the bun/noodles were hot. First off, I don't know about you, but usually when I order bun, its not steaming, having been just boiled. Usually you make a lot of bun and set it aside to cool. This threw the dish off for me since the hot noodles continued to expand soaking up the fish sauce I poured over them. The noodles were also overcooked and would fall apart as we tried to scoop them up with chopsticks. Another thing to note is that the waiter who took our order was French, not Vietnamese. True, his wife is probably Vietnamese and the owner. However, it made it impossible to order in Vietnamese and ask for things that I don't know how to say in French. For example, I wanted to order a Cafe Sua Da, which is a Vietnamese iced coffee. Instead I ordered coffee asking for the one with sweetened condensed milk. We ended up getting hot espressos. I'll have to come back to this place and check out the pho. It seems that most of the other customers were eating pho, and this is perhaps the reason why an uncommon menu item was a bit lack-luster. read more

This place always has a line so come early. The seating is very small so it can pack more people. Everything here is good to eat but for me the chicken pho! Chicken pho is very good here like crack, I always have to have it when I come here. read more

What a well oiled machine. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating, and a lot of it. Which is a change from most restaurants in the city. Their menu is adorable, with a somewhat 3D layout of their food and drink options. We ordered almost everything on the menu and were most pleased with the pork pancakes and, of course, the Pho. But fair warning, the broth is sweet. And if you're picky about your broth, you may be turned off to this. 3 stars because you're somewhat wasting your time here when you should be at Bonjour Vietnam having something a little more authentic. read more
