Vietnamese is technically French food through colonialism, right? Bad joke aside, I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this place... after a few days, our tourist tummies were beginning to tire of Beef bourguignon and other heavy classical French foods, and we needed a flavor break. Hanoi was surprisingly flavorful, crisp, bright and gave us what we were looking for.

I was on vacation in Paris , France and was shopping in the 4th district . I got so hungry while shopping and stumbled upon this Vietnamese place . It's was a tiny restaurant in a busy area very close to EatItaly and the Hotel de Ville . The service was excellent and the beef pho dish I ordered was amazing ! They used two types of onions red and greed along with basils and sprouts and a red spice that paired very with the dish. My mouth is watering describing my dish . Ambience is casual and location was close to a metro station!

Pho is one of my favourites and I have it 2-3x a week. This place has nice ambience but other than that... overpriced, service is lousy and the most importantly the pho is mediocre.

Their chicken curry is the best I've ever had. I went here with my mom and she got the chicken curry while I got the beef pho. Both were so so so good. The wait staff was very nice and friendly. It was easy to find and the inside is very cozy.

Absolutely delightful dinner experience. So pretty inside compared to the Vietnamese restaurants I am accustomed to. Like a little jewel box! Perfect for an inexpensive date. Food presentation is equally well thought out and my beef pho was delicious! The server was also super sweet. Gobbled down the complimentary shrimp chips and the fresh mint in the water was a lovely touch. You'll be happy you came!

This is my favorite restaurant in Paris!!!! As a Vietnamese-American, I am so happy to have found this place. The restaurant is so chic and the menu have so many wonderful options. I especially loved the app + entree or app+entree+dessert option. I ordered a fresh coconut and this was the first time I've seen a fresh coconut anywhere in this city. I got the tamarind sour salmon soup (canh chua) and the dry beef noodles (bun bo). Food came out fast and wow!! What a gorgeous presentation, from my complimentary water to the dishes. They put a fresh mint inside a water carafe here and I love oh so fancy little touches like these! They also provide chilli peppers on a little side dish and I can tell that the owners put a lot of thought and effort into their restaurant. The pickled cabbage they put in the bun bo was so delicious I asked for extra! The flavorings is impeccable and I'm satisfied with my meal. I'm so impressed by the quality of service and foods here. This won't be my first and only time here!

I'm Viet and thought this place was just ok. I really liked their presentation, but if I was blindfolded, I would not have known it was Vietnamese food. For example, The fried rice that came with the Bo Luc Loc (steak beef cubes) was red because there was a tomato base that was mixed in the fried rice. This gave it more of a Spanish feel. I think this same paste was used in the steak sauce too. The sauce was sweet instead of savory with a thick texture from the tomato paste. I prefer a savory sauce. The wonton soup broth was bland and so was the banh cuon (Viet ravioli) My hubby had the pork in clay pot. The dish is supposed to be caramelized, but the sauce was runny instead. The cut of pork was also not ideal as it was dry. Overall, the flavors were underwhelming but the quality was good. The service was very nice and attentive.

Beef pho with steak on the side. Not super authentic but it does the job! Definitely recommend.

Service was prompt and food was on point. From San Francisco and gotta say that the food is comparable. It is on the pricier side but it's Paris.. everything's expensive. Good vibe, nice server. Will definitely come back.

    Bo Bun. Very good!!

Perfect for rainy day. We were looking for a good comfort food, glad we found this one. Good Pho Bo soup. Must order the Ban Chuon. And the Bun Cha is amazing!! DIY wrap. We'll come back next time

I think I've had the best thit bo luc lac and canh chua ca here! Everything was really delicious and I loved every bite of it. Their shrimp and chicken salad was really good, too! I'd definitely want to visit again! We started off with the chicken and shrimp salad and it had the right amount of spice to it. Then I had the Canh chua ca and I loved how they cooked the fish first and then put it in the broth (usually people cook the fish in the broth). My husband got the bo luc lac and the meat was perfectly cooked. What I wasn't familiar with was the type of rice they added (an egg fried rice) and the egg sunny side up on the side! It was a perfect addition to the meal. So tasty!

It has good selections of stir fried seafood, meat and vegetables, excellent desserts, and okay sushi. The raw bar is a little questionable to me. Sometimes you just want to get your food, chow down, pay and bounce as quickly as possible. Maybe it's because you've spent the day walking around. Or you're getting home super late from work. The last thing you want is an hour plus long meal experience, but you also don't want fast food. The food is fine here, if a bit random. There's a big ham leg in the middle, some simple sushi, fried items, salads, cheeses. I like the ice cream and fruit selection they have. They also have a grill in the back where they will cook up stuff fresh for you. Go for the mushrooms and steak. However, it's not really clear when your food is ready or if someone will bring it to you. Other than that though, the service is generally good. The staff here seem to be really interested in people's places of origin...they were surprised I was Filipino American and asked me to teach them some Tagalog words. If you're in Paris on vacation, this is far from a destination spot. But if you're just tired as hell, it's a welcome sight.

It was unfortunate that all the servers, except the sommelier, were required to wear name tags. The roasted duck was very good. I found the Dim Sum menu was a bit smaller than I was expecting, but each taste was very good. Having been to Kazakhstan before for a work trip, I first approached the owners, Joe and Laurent, to see if they could make a traditional Kazakh meal, beshbarmak, even though it is not on the restaurant's regular menu. (Beshbarmak is a noodle dish with lamb and a Kazakh horse sausage). They readily agreed, but as it involves extra work, I promised to round up some people. Joe and Laurent were fantastic hosts. They prepared different menus for us because some wanted to try the beshbarmak, while others wanted the regular Russian/Central Asian menu, or a vegetarian option. Ultimately six people tried the beshbarmak, three went with the regular menu, and two chose a vegetarian option (which, by the way, is also on the regular menu). Everyone enjoyed the food, whether they ordered Kazakh or Russian dishes. For the starter, a contingent (including me) had the eggplant, tomato, and garlic appetizer, which was garlicky and delicious. One person enjoyed the restaurant's variation on a Russian favorite --herring under a fur coat--here made with salmon. The most popular choice for our group was the pirozhki (apparently the French transliteration is pirojki), which are beef and onion pastries. They quickly disappeared, along with the enticing potato and vegetable salad that accompanied them. For the main attraction, the beshbarmak eaters were all pleased. Two of us had eaten the dish while in Kazakhstan, and the rest were eager to try it. The chef, Joe, told us that the dish was homemade, including the noodles, and we had to eat everything fast before it became cold. We did! Although the portions are big, we just managed to finish our plates (although some needed a little help from their friends). The people who ordered from the regular menu were also happy with their choices, especially the manti. They looked delicious - juicy beef dumplings covered in red bell peppers. Finally, the vegetarians were also well treated, with hearty, flavorful potato dumplings with mushrooms. (After eating the beshbarmak, I finished my wife's dumplings, as she was full). As a group, we were unfortunately too full to order many desserts, but my wife and I split the napoléon, a mille feuille cake. As Joe and Laurent had learned over the course of the meal that the Kazakh-inspired gathering was also connected with my birthday, they kindly turned our dessert into a mini-birthday cake with a candle and also gave me a box of chocolates from Kazakhstan along with a book of beautiful pictures of the country. I should also say that Joe and Laurent have a fondness for Russian speakers. Fortunately, one of us actually speaks Russian and was able to charm them with a flawlessly recited poem, which Joe also knew by heart. As we had closed down the restaurant, they gave us a shot of vodka, turned on some Russian music, and even sang with us a bit before we left. All in all, everyone in the group had a wonderful evening, and we agreed that we would gladly go again. You should too!
