We were drenched and decided that some hot coffee on the way out of town would be just the thing. Aquamos Coffee Collaborative to the rescue! It's in downtown Waupaca, so the parking is basically street or street angled parking. My husband was able to find a spot to sit with the car and camper while I ran in and got our coffee. Since it was lunch time and I noticed what sounded like a pretty stellar breakfast sandwich on their menu, I ordered us a couple of those as well. For our coffee we got the caramel roll latte (caramel-y, ever so slightly cinnamon-y deliciousness). They also have alternative milks, if you so desire. The breakfast sandwich was a sesame bagel with chipotle mayo, egg, bacon, and sharp cheddar--it was super flavorful and absolutely delicious. Oh...and I believe they're dog friendly. The espresso as near as I can tell is a medium roast with great flavors, kind of a nutty finish and just a hint of chocolate. The most predominant flavor is coffee, which is my favorite. He said "just give her that one." Then I heard him calling someone in the back to ask where the cake was. As I peer around the corner, I see him getting a cake out of a display cooler that matches a small cake next to it. This cake had cookie-like flowers on the top that were nothing like what I had asked for. My cake topper is not on it. He starts boxing it up and tells me $70. I said, "I know thats not my cake, and I need to get to my hair appt. I will come back and I hope you get this figured out." He says nothing, but the whole time my daughter and I can tell that they didn't have my cake. My hair appt took quite a while, so I directed my husband to take care of it. He went to the bakery (which had finally found my cake topper) and was told that the items they tried to sell me were my order (New York style cheesecake does not have whipcream on it - nor did we ask for it). They said they could wipe the whip cream off , and they told him thats how all of their frosting flowers are made - like cookies that crumble. He mentioned we had shown a picture of what we wanted the cake to look like from their fbook page. He was then told that the picture was of a cake a customer had brought in and that they never made that cake. This blows my mind because why would you have it on your page then - nothing like false advertising. If they couldn't make the cake like what I had shown them when I ordered it - they should have said something at the time! What really happened is they never made my order to begin with and tried to pass off an old display cheesecake and someone else's cake instead and charge me full price - then lied to us about it! I would think twice before ordering anything important from this bakery. I left a comment about the situation on the picture of the cake I had wanted and they deleted my comment and blocked me. Don't believe all of their good reviews - they censor the bad ones.
