I went there on my birthday and it was AMAZING. The food is high quality, authentic Thai, but they also do American Thai favorites. First time here and it has become my favorite Thai restaurant in the area!! So where do I start? It's a small place walking distance from Proctors. The food was delicious and the lady there, was the sweetest person, she makes you feel like you came to eat at her house. I came for Pho and I ended up having the Basil chicken: yummy and spicy!! = Deliciousness!!! We had the fried dumplings, perfectly fried, delicate looking, the bad thing? I HAD TO SHARE THEM!!!! I had the Thai tea too wow soooo creamy, perfection in a glass. The price of the food is good. Also, I noticed couple of "regulars" This is a GREAT sign for me, people are eating there, and are known by their names and talking about their life. In the impersonal world that we lived, I appreciate a restaurant that takes their time to know who is coming in....!!! Now...I MUST come back for the Pho! So Pho Queen is a DATE. Oh one more thing, there is not alcohol served in here. But don't despair, don't do another search for Thai Food in the area... !! The good news is that Pho Queen it is a BYOB restaurant. Only a block away from Proctor's Theater, this little hole-in-the wall Thai / Pho place is amazing! My wife and I were looking for a new place to dine prior to a show. The service was great and the food was excellent (and plentiful). There were SO many things on the menu to choose from! And it's always a good sign when you are in the process of being seated and the folks next to you are leaving and exuberantly thanking the server and commenting on how great their meals were. This is a small to medium size restaurant, with lovely cushy chairs and a great atmosphere. The owner is friendly, funny, and helpful. It may not be ideal for big groups (those more than 4-6) but the owner is super accommodating. Pho Queen serves some of the best Thai food in town. Everything I've tried there has been AMAZING. My go to meal is usually the Drunken Noodles, Vegetable Spring Rolls, and a Thai Iced Tea. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable (especially their lunch specials). I've also enjoyed their pad thai, coconut soup, spicy ped (delicious fried spicy duck), and chicken wings. The only downside is I'm always so full that I never have room for dessert, but they look great too! read more

We ordered the drunken noodles and the wonton noodle soup with pork. Also we got a Thai ice tea and Thai ice bubble tea. The food was great but I only got 3 wontons in my soup and they were not too big. Other then that the food was delicious. The bubble ice tea was good too but the tapioca had a hard interior that means it's not fresh. Also the prices are higher than what the food was worth. POOR MANAGEMENT!!! PROBLEMS WITH MEALEO!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A HASSLE!!! Food is great, we ordered every week! Then, after waiting over two hours for an order we called Mealeo and cancelled. A few minutes later the food arrived. We accepted the food of course since our card had already been charged. Everything was great. Now I go to order tonight and am waiting for over an hour and a half, when suddenly we receive an email that the order was rejected. I called the restaurant and was treated very rudely by the "manager" who told me that she would not deliver to us because we did not pay for the food last time. Let me reiterate that we had been charged for the food at the time of receiving it. And were later that evening refunded by Mealeo. I am very sad as this was a great place that we ordered from frequently and now due to a billing problem with MEALEO and rude service from the management we will not be able to eat there any more. Delightful eating environment, by far the most classy Thai restaurant in Albany I have been to. I would suggest this as a good first date place if you and your date love Thai food. We ordered Chicken Massaman Curry and beef Drunken Noodles, both of the dishes were flavorful. However, I had two complains; First of all the noodles were not soft enough like all other Thai restaurants. Secondly, the curry was too liquidy, felt like it was more like a soup. read more

Went here Valentine's day before a show. We arrived 2 hours before our show started and the food was great. My soup was delicious and full of seafood. The place is kinda small and because if the holiday it filled up fast. The only criticism I have is when we arrived there were only 2 other tables there but our food still took about 45 minutes to arrive. Great food, HORRIBLE service. Its a shame the service wasnt better and I would recommend this restaurant for its good food. The wait staff was very lost and slow. Brought our own wine bottle and they gave us water glasses to drink our wine from. Took forever for food to come and mixed up orders. I adore this restaurant! The staff is friendly and more importantly really good at cooking. When you ask for spicy they make it spicy. When you ask for something to be added or subtracted from a dish it is done correctly. I've never had a bad dish, appetizer, drink from this place. read more

Worst experience! Don't go there! Worst food, worst service, everything is over priced!!! We went there around 8pm, the owner ( the waitress) was so mean, I had to called her many times to get her attention. She served our food and disappeared. We had to go to the kitchen to get someone for extra rice. After she came back, we ordered mango sticky rice for dessert. I asked her how long it's going to take, because it's getting late. She yelled at me saying "why didn't you tell me at the beginning? We need to go home here" Woman listen 1) Your place closed at 9, if 8 is too late to eat it, you can tell us when we walked in. 2) you disappeared the whole time. 3) no one is ordering dessert at the beginning of their dinner... we ordered the pho and curry beef, taste like shit! read more

I have been there twice and the food is excellent. The owner's memory is astonishing. :) I'll return relatively often. Parking can be a challenge due to the location, but after work, unless there is a show at Proctor's, the parking is not a problem. Highly recommend this Thai restaurant. read more

What a fantastic find. My wife and I stayed at the Hilton doubletree a few blocks away and split an order of shrimp summer role and ped spicy (crispy duck breast). After hearing a lot of positive things about this place, we decided on giving it a try. I have to say that every part of our visit was a big disappointment. It took about 10 minutes for our order to be taken, another 20 minutes or so for an appetizer to make its way to the table, and about a half hour later, our dinner came out. There was absolutely no flavor to my dish, and I asked the waitress for hot sauce. She brought it out to me halfway through dinner, and asked for the sauce back so she can bring it to another table. Do they really only have one tray of hot sauce? Finally, we asked for the bill, it came, but the bill was not ours. I mentioned that it was the wrong bill and they brought back the correct one. They however didn't bring a pen, so I gladly got up and went to the counter to borrow a pen to pay. I guess they don't offer you a pen when they bring the check to you? Not sure what happened when they were closed for a month, but unfortunately, we will not be returning. read more

Break out your Aladdin soundtrack because this place is a diamond in the rough. It's in a pretty low foot traffic area so never would have found it unless it was recommended. That recommender is on the Christmas card list now because oh wow. Sweet piles of delicious. The curry duck, mind blowing. The street food - pad Thai and drunken noodles - I would eat it every day. The owners are also adorable, they remembered my wife and I by the second time we were in there, and also gave us solid tips on making sure our food was the perfect level of spicy for us. I went here with my family on a visit to Schenectady NY. We were going to Jasmine Thai when we realized it was closed that day. I immediately consulted yelp for an alternative option. I found Pho Queen, and the rave reviews caught my attention. We drove there and immediately admired the décor when we walked in. There is limited seating but it did have a nice look. The menu was quite long but had quite a variety and had pictures to depict the dishes. First I ordered a Thai Iced Tea. It was delicious and had a great balance of flavor. We got spring rolls for the table. They were delicious but extremely small. I ordered the Pad See Eww, a rice noodle dish that I got with chicken. It was delicious and I enjoyed every bite. The portions were large but my uncle finished my food. For dessert we ordered Fried Ice Cream for the table. It was so good that we fought over it and had to order another one. The waitress/owner was very pleasant and likeable. We found out that she started Jasmine Thai with a friend of her's. Overall the experience was great except for the fact that they play the same piano ballad on repeat the whole time. Being a musician, this was annoying but I got through it. read more
