We were greeted by a very friendly waitress when we arrived at this restaurant. I really like the decor inside and there was no wait. We were seated right away at a booth. The iced tea and Thai iced tea were both delicious. We ordered the Curry noodle soup, Drunken noodle with vegetables, and the yellow curry. Everyone was happy with their orders. I definitely recommend this restaurant! Service was quick and constant too. We were checked on often and drinks were refilled without being asked too. Even though they were busy.

After a long day, we decided to stay in and order takeout. I can't speak to the ambiance or the service but the food hit the spot. I ordered the Tom Kha soup and the Pad-See U both delicious. The soup is flavorful and I love the broth. I ordered medium heat but I wish I'd gone with hot. Next time! The Pad-See U was also delicious. Plenty of chicken and veggies mixed in with the wide noodles and sauce. It totally hit the spot! I definitely would return.

I ordered takeout on a Saturday night and for some reason, I couldn't figure out how to use their online ordering platform so I called to place my order. They were super helpful on the phone and when I went to pick it up, it was waiting for me. The dining room was larger than I expected and there were quite a few people dining in so it's nice to know that's an option next time. I ordered the mild red curry with shrimp and the medium drunken noodles with chicken. The heat in the drunken noodles was perfect - not too much. The curry was fantastic too, I just wish there were more shrimp in it. Overall, the food was delicious so I'll definitely be placing another order and I'm looking forward to dining in at some point too. Highly recommend!

Really nothing great. We stopped by on our way to Montreal thinking since this spot had 4.5 stars that it would be bearable. But it wasn't. While the service was good, the food was nothing great. We ordered from the lunch menu a beef green curry, awful the beef was so dry tasted more like jerky beef green curry. The portion was also very small. This lunch dish did come with a soup or salad. I opted for the soup, which was a fish sauce/soy sauce base soup with the tiniest pieces of tofu. It was extremely salty. We also ordered the Thai noodles with glass noodles with tofu. This noodle dish had fresh sprouts, noodles and tofu, that's all. Very bland. Overall nothing to rave about. Highly skip.

Even a "medium spiced" tom yum soup will feel beyond medium

The food at Tamarind is fresh and tasty and nicely presented. The service is friendly. But if you are fussy about spiciness, be very selective here. I was amazed at just how many entrees had the little red pepper next to them. They can, of course adjust the spiciness of just about everything. But specifying medium spiciness for tom yum soup is going to be a lot different than medium spiciness for an entree. We got our tea promptly, but we weren't given water until the waitress saw me react to the first sip of that soup (admittedly, I want tom yum to be initially spicy and something I get used to as I finish it). Now armed with the knowledge of my first experience here, I'm ready to enjoy more.

Very impressed! Driving around Latham, nothing was standing out. So my friend and I popped into Tamarind Thai and we're completely blown away. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the woman running the restaurant was incredibly friendly and efficient. Started with a chicken version of the Summer Roll, the fried dumplings, and then had the Ginger Plate with Chicken. The summer roll was perfect, crunchy, and freshly made, and exactly what I had hoped it would be. The fried dumplings were well done, and pretty yummy. But that ginger dish, sauteed with mushrooms, carrots, and onions, was hands down the star of the show. The sauce it was cooked in was delicious, and I couldn't get enough of it mixed in with my rice. Great experience overall and we can't wait to go back!

Good Thai food. Tried the panang curry and the crazy noodles (Dan Dan noodles), both were above average. The waitress was very friendly and environment nice. Would come back. Only change i would make is making the curry a little thicker, other than that no complaints. And the 4 other people I was with were satisfied as well.

First time trying this place and I'm so glad we did. It's really good and the staff is so friendly! We were surrounded by quite a few others eating in as well as those picking up takeout. Everything looked tempting but I went with the Mango Fried Rice with Chicken and Shrimp. My husband ordered Tom Yum Fried Rice and my son Seafood Tom Kha Soup. We had Siam Spring rolls to start. The vegetarian rolls were deliciously crispy and served with a sweet and sour sauce. My entree was very tasty with sweet and savory flavors mixing with just a little heat which is how I requested it, mild. I would have liked more mango and more shrimp (there were only two) but it was good. My husband enjoyed his as well. Especially the lemongrass and chili flavors. The most interesting of our groups meals was my son's soup. The waitress questioned him on ordering it and I can see why. It's brought out in a large metal tureen with a gas flame in the middle. She brought us all bowls as it's usually shared by the whole table. It had a very intriguing flavor that touched on all the flavor groups. It was a mix of sweet coconut cream, sour tomato, spicy ginger and cilantro and of course seafood. Mussels, squid, white fish, scallops and shrimp. It had an addictive taste and I couldn't stop taking more sips of broth. The wait staff was very attentive frequently refilling our water glasses. I look forward to trying more items soon.

Ben and I recently started watching a showing on east Asian cuisine. The first episode covered Cambodian, Thai, and Korean foods which really gave me a craving for some of the flavors used in Thai cooking. Sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and spicy. I haven't eaten a lot if thai food so I tried to order a few typical dishes. I ordered online through their website which uses mealeo and went to pick it up. There was one family eating inside and some takeout orders while I waited. The dishes served while I waited looked like a big portion and the server was very friendly and polite. I would love to eat in sometime. When I got our food home everything was good but the curry had broken a little because of the steam. Not their fault and I'm not complaining. Takeout is almost never as good as dining in. I ordered everything no onions and green peppers which we don't like and there were no mistakes with the dishes. The beef curry was spicy ane the beef very tender. The papaya salad was crunchy and refreshing with a little bitterness from the thinly sliced lime with rind intact. The lemongrass chicken was made with thighs and had a nice finish on the palate. The pork was good but I made the mistake of eating the beef curry first so I was full and my mouth was burning and I couldn't taste as much. I thought the cost value was good and I appreciated the good customer service I received. I would definitely go back again.

Ever been to Thailand? Well, I have! If you don't feel like flying halfway across the world for…read moresome authentic Thai cuisine, I highly suggest visiting Pad Thai Noodle. Green curry? Check! We ordered mild for the more spice resistant of the two of us (with sides of chili paste and powder for yours truly). Flavors were spot on-served piping hot (temperature) in very generous portions. Drunken noodle? Check! These rice noodles are not as broad as some other local Thai places but again-a very large portion with a perfect balance of savory, salty and sweet (also ordered mild for this first visit). Absolutely delicious....oh how I love the gumminess of a good rice noodle. The summer rolls were also great. We tried them with crab instead of our usual choice of shrimp (avocado was also an option). They're served with a peanut sprinkled hoisin sauce and a second peanut sauce. Again-nice sized portion with super fresh ingredients. Almost forgot-we did try a salmon avocado roll to sample the sushi-it was also great. But we wanted to focus on the Thai options. Not pictured but tasted (bc I dove in and scarfed without pausing for photos!): -Larb salmon: I've only had chicken and vegetarian versions of Larb (sometimes spelled Lahb); the salmon (raw) was one of the best things I've tried in a while. The red onions, scallions, rice powder, vinegar, chilies and fish sauce make this the ultimate umami experience that I can't wait to have again. -mango sticky rice: perfection. Ripe mango cut into cubes with sticky, sweet (and slightly crunchy) rice drenched in coconut milk sauce. I'm drooling as I write this. In case you don't now, the original version of this family owned and run restaurant had a terrible explosion/fire and underwent renovations last year. They took over the space next door and expanded the dining room area. It's light, bright and welcoming. Service was awesome-friendly and super fast. The menu is also extensive. I was initially overwhelmed by the choices so we stuck to the basics. Can't wait to go back and try more!

In the background on the TV was the Food Network. Our waitress was very polite and gave us time to order. I started with the Szechuan dumplings which turned out to be steamed dumplings in a spicy peanut saucy. They were very soft, almost to the point of mushy, and the meatball inside was chewy. I had never heard of them before and really enjoyed them, though I didn't find them spicy. My wife disagreed on that point, and didn't care for them. For my son, we ordered "chicken fingers". They were larger pieces of battered deep fried chicken (think sweet and sour chicken) and cooked so long as to be hard and greasy. He didn't want to eat them, and after one bit I completely agreed. They were terrible. Very little meat, very hard coating, very oily. Yuck. We threw nearly all of it away. My wife ordered sushi, and during the ordering process there was some confusion as to what fish came with it and whether there was an upcharge or not. She ended up with a standard sushi order and didn't enjoy it all that much. It might have been sitting around a bit too long. I ordered the General Tso chicken and was very disappointed. There was lots of chicken and it wasn't fried as hard as the chicken fingers, but I didn't like the sauce. It was loaded with minced ginger, shallots, and garlic which gave it a much different taste than anywhere else I have had this dish. As I looked at it more, it hit me... I have bought this bottled sauce before from the supermarket. I think it is "Iron Kitchen" brand, and I used to have some in my fridge (when I bought it, I discovered it didn't taste good either so it sat in my fridge for ages). Yangs didn't make their sauce from scratch, and it was gloopy and thick. he picture of this dish on the online menu doesn't match what you get. Do they always use this sauce? I dunno, but it was one of the worst versions I have ever eaten. After dropping off our food, the waitress disappeared and was clearly busy with other tables. She never checked on us to see how we were doing, and it took a while for someone else to refill our drinks. They did a tremendous amount of takeout while we were there. All in all, it was a very disappointing meal. We won't be back.

The dine-in area was empty during my visit, but the restaurant was clearly busy with takeout orders--people were regularly coming in to place or pick up food. Having the dining room to myself, I found the staff to be very attentive and quick to take my order. I chose the sashimi lunch special, which came with miso soup, a house salad, and hot tea. I also added an order of edamame. The edamame was freshly steamed and served in the bamboo basket it was cooked in. It was hot, lightly salted, and a perfect way to start the meal. The salad was a simple iceberg mix with dressing. Unfortunately, the dressing didn't have much flavor, so it felt a bit underwhelming. The miso soup was standard--hot, with small pieces of tofu, and just what I expected. The sashimi was nicely sliced, though I found it a bit lacking in flavor on its own. I added soy sauce and wasabi, which helped enhance the experience. I did appreciate the attention to detail with the octopus sashimi--each slice was separated by a thin piece of lemon, which added a subtle citrus note that worked well.

Not only does it have excellent Thai food, it also has one page of their menu offering Korean choices. There are separate lunch and dinner menus. Both menus are easy to navigate and clearly written. Their menus state designated spicy dishes can be modified on a scale of 1 to 5. There are numerous lunch specials offered. They come with miso soup or green salad. I would have preferred a pot of brewed tea and small handleless cups offered at a few other places. We ordered lunch specials: Drunken Noodles with Tofu and Pang Kamee with Chicken. The soup broth was flavorful but could have had more tofu pieces. The Spring Rolls were average. My Pang Kamee was seasoned perfectly. Very tasty, it was seasoned nicely with spices, but not hot. I liked the perfectly cooked wide noodles and thinly sliced carrots. The chicken was moist and tender. The Drunken Noodles was also enjoyed by my daughter. What was exceptional about it was the Tofu!
