    BBQ, campfire area

Such a great quaint lodge. It's run by a family who seem to live on site. If you're looking for a cozy quiet getaway this place is as homey as it gets. So affordable and sweet. They offer water, fresh baked cookies (delicious too), yogurt, starbucks coffee, biscottis, cereal, bagels, muffins, etc. for breakfast in the main office. Free bike rentals, free wifi, great open campfire area, BBQ grills that are free to use. 5 minute drive or 10 minute bike ride to the nearest downtown area (where you can find cute restaurants, convenience stores, liquor, delis, etc.) Incase you forget any condiments or cooking ingredients/utensils - management was quick to offer anything you might need. When I went with my boyfriend for a snowboarding trip to Hunter mountain which is only about a 15 minute drive away. We got rained in one night - bummer, but not! We took walks to the office and rented out free movies with the great selection they had, grabbed some snacks and we were set for the night. As mentioned earlier - we were here for a snowboarding trip in the winter but I would love to visit in the summer for a short and sweet relaxing getaway.

I and my Fiancé desperately had to book a super last minute lodging because of the massive January 2021 Nor'easter impacting our 3 hour drive home. We were basically stuck in the Catskills with massive snowstorm and Phoenicia Lodge saved us!!!!! The owners Jennifer and Maureen accommodated us with such wonderful hospitality! They are one of the best and kindest business owners we've encountered! We booked a room for one overnight stay and was very pleased with our stay! Rustic but very cozy and organized/claen, had everything essential working great. Room was warm, fast and reliable wifi, cable TV available and complimentary grab and go breakfast! They even mailed my jacket back that I left in the room after check out. Highly highly recommended to everyone visiting the Catskills! They have different types of accommodations which look really nice also! We will definitely be back!!!!!

I stayed again this year and it's still top notch. My old review is still on the money.

Drove up two hours with family (sister in law had a massage booked) only to have her call minutes before arriving to tell her that the masseuse called in sick and wasn't coming in. We still went anyway because we were right down the road and, upon arriving, were greeted by a very defensive and unaccommodating owner, who we found out happens to be Elizabeth. I get it, people get sick, that isn't even the issue here although it's probably a good idea to have some sort of policy set up with your employees that doesn't allow them to cancel minutes before an appointment. Or, here's a thought, why not have more than one masseuse on staff? But who knows, for all we know, this might've even been a lie because she was giving my wife and sister-in-law such a hard time from the get-go, at the beginning of the reservation process and even when my wife went to buy the gift card. She was rude, didn't even apologize and instead, completely absolved herself from any responsibility for the matter. Just said there was nothing she could do and didn't even offer any kind of complimentary discount after we traveled so far to come to her spa. I've worked in customer service for many years and you always try to work with a customer, no matter the case. The only option she begrudgingly offered up was to text another "potential" employee who could "maybe" come in, but couldn't make any guarantees nor was she happy about having to potentially stay longer to wait around for an answer. If your reason for visiting Copperhood is to "get away from it all" and to detoxify for a week, you can be rest assured that by the end of the week you'll be filled right back up with another kind of toxicity from the owner. Book and stay at your own risk.

Not a big deal, but it still cost $400 a night. There is no bar here, no lobby "scene", and honestly the service isn't great. For $400 a night we got a DVD player, when we asked at 9pm for a DVD, they said they were closed. The next night, we rented DVDs early, but the DVD player wasn't connected, and when we asked, they said they would take care of it "tomorrow". Finally, on our last and third night they fixed it. This honestly is some sort of lifestyle adjustment, fat farm or whatever resort. That's not a pejorative, it just is. You pay a lot of money, and you take nature walks, eat raw foods, and go to bed early. Again, not a bad thing per se, but quite a lot for the money. we didn't do the spa/resort package, we just rented the condo. Every time we had an issue, the proprietor would say "you are not part of the resort, you rented the condo". As if it's a distinction with a difference. Really annoying service, but they are committed to what they want to be, which would explain why there were only 4 cars in the lot during Memorial Day weekend. Beautiful place. Phoenicia is cool. Woodstock is cool. But if you book here, don't ever think you're booking at a normal hotel. It's not. It's a beautiful place with beautiful scenery, but the service is next to zero, and it's basically a rehab facility. If you're looking for a fun time in the Catskills, this ain't it. If you're looking to nature walk and eat raw food and drink vegetable juice, it's all yours for ~$500 a night. The llamas are cool too

We walked down the street and stumbled upon this cute little lodge that had a sign that read outdoor patio / dining . We asked the nice gentleman Peter if it would be okay, and since there was no one sitting outside he was happy to have us. We ordered an old fashion & a Cosmo- cocktails were okay so we switched to red wine and beer with dinner , I would recommend sticking to a simple drink! The dinner was DELICIOUS! I ordered the potato dumplings -5 stars & the branzino, which I added just a little more lemon too. My boyfriend for the steak, he thought it was okay, could have used more flavor. We met another couple who also had a puppy, that sat with us outside ... they ordered the crab cake appetizer and the duck entree - both were VERY good! For dessert we shared the chocolate cake with ice cream and the oatmeal pistachio rhubarb which were both amazing ... Peter was an amazing host. When it started to rain, he was happy to allow us to sit inside with our pup. Very cute & quaint spot!

Foxfire Mountain House was exactly that for us. We gathered for a winter celebration among our closest friends, holding our special event in the charming antique greenhouse. Decorated with winter greens and soft white string lights, it carried a quiet charm that made everything feel thoughtful and full of meaning. Staying in the Cottage gave us space to unwind with the kind of privacy and warmth that made everything feel personal and intentional. The rooms were spacious, the fireplace inviting, and the pace of the weekend calm and restorative. As for the rooms it's an old house so everything is very loud.. all the time...even at night. I get that it's an old house but some form of noise barrier would be nice. In the middle of the night you can hear ppl in the hallway or in the room next to you, doing...well I'll just leave it as loud adult activities lol... The beds are also not very comfortable. Overall a decent place but questionable if it's worth the price.
