Liz Stewart and her dog Viggo. We both had a wonderful time @ Graham & Co.

My husband, dog and I stayed for two nights @ The Graham & Co. when we traveled to the Catskills for a wedding. The Graham & Co. offered us excellent accomodations and warm hospitality. The staff and owners are wonderful, genuine humans who were attentive to all our needs. The helped us find the perfect hike! The grounds of The Graham & Co. are really fun for dogs. The owners' dogs hung out with ours. The breakfast, delivered right to our front door, was perfect. The products in the rooms (shampoo, etc.) are top-notch. We definitely want to return and do some more playing, visiting, and hiking! liz stewart, austin, tx

Gorgeous fire pit area where we did an Easter Candy hunt.

We just returned from a long weekend at The Graham & Co the entire family loved it! It was our first visit to the Catskills and The Graham was a cozy retreat that was perfect for everyone and our dog. The staff is more than staff - they are genuinely warm and kind and I felt comfortable asking them for all sorts of help/advice: where to eat, closing times for stores, which trails and which room was best for us. We stayed in the Deluxe Double and it was a great space for us! The overall vibe was rustic, very comfortable, and SO clean! The toiletries are wonderful and for sale at reception, which is so charming...they converted a two car garage into a rustic chic reception area where you can get complimentary fresh coffee, tea, and snacks. There were many more amenities that I anticipated...there was a communal "den" for movies, games, and hanging with larger groups. Also the 2 outdoor fireplaces were so cozy in the chilly mornings and nights. We skipped rocks across the river, hikes the trails, and our dog, as well as other guests' dogs were greatly welcomes everywhere at the Graham and Co. Oh and complimentary breakfast delivered to your door every morning. WOW! We loved everything about this place and wish everyone there has much success and happiness as they can stand. We will be back.

My stay really started 3 months prior as I saw this fantastic motel on a short series called ReMotel, on Discovery+. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to go there for an upcoming birthday getaway. My wife and I booked for a weekend during peak fall foliage in Phoenicia. The place is ultimately a vibe. Industrial rustic decor with a reclaimed modern feel. It's simplistic, this is not a typical motel or lodge- no tv, no fridges, no paved parking, no cell service. There IS great customer service, thoughtful amenities, a peaceful plot of land nestled between 2 mountains with an adjacent raging river, bustling fire pits, breakfast every morning, opportunities to interact with bears, a short walk to downtown Phoenicia, pet friendly, and offers free bud heavies (there's much more, this just what I liked). There is a den that you can reserve for movie night or just a chill tv night when you connect to the WiFi. It is a 5 min drive to the famous Phoenicia Diner, and 7 mins to Woodstock Brewing- both favorites of mine. Hiking is plentiful around the motel too! This place has everything you need to live comfortably yet check out from the entire world if you'd like. I drove from Baltimore to get away for a birthday, and I would 100% do it again!

My husband and I spent Thanksgiving at this cozy lodging and it is everything you'd want in a Catskills experience. Eclectic decor, quiet, outdoor spaces, fire pits, hot coffee in the morning and of course the amazing mountainous landscape. We can't wait to return in the summer to enjoy the pool.

The Graham + Co exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed our stay and everyone was so friendly and kind. The accommodations were well appointed and Catskills appropriate. The Graham is located just a short distance from the center of town where there are cute places to walk into and great spots to eat. We enjoyed the morning drop-off of breakfast and the coffee was always piping hot. This is a dog-friendly establishment and there's a wide expanse of grass for our pups. We came home every night to a fire burning in a fire pit, giving us that wonderful Catskills ambiance. Everything about the Graham is well considered. We can't wait to go back. Martin and Joe were wonderful to talk to.

I wanted to like this place, but it's essentially an Econolodge with a couple elevated touches like Edison bulbs and nice soap. Pretty much exactly like my college dorm room. This place makes me realize that rustic chic actually requires a palpable underlying foundation of luxury, otherwise it doesn't work. But again, if this place was priced more appropriately (under $100/night on weekends), I'd be all in. The photos available through the site and through social feeds are very misleading, at least for the smaller room. Haven't seen the larger one. That said I can see how those photos came to be: this place is highly 'grammable'. It's just that the reality is a far cry from those pics. Makes me reflect on how we use Instagram to begin with: to make our lives seem more aspirational. This hotel plays into that. So it's kind of our own fault in a way.. we're drawn by Edison bulbs and burlap, once we get here, we don't want to show the world that we're suckers and are actually we're staying in a budget motel, so we take photos of this place that mask the flaws and make our stay look , and that's how new guests are suckered in turn. Graham & co is just smart. I don't blame them... Graham & co: low hanging fruit would be to make sure your frames are fixed in every room, patch up any holes around electrical outlets, add some hooks, maybe some air plants in the bathroom, and do something about that mirror that hangs behind the door to the bathroom. It reads DORM. And your curtain system... in a luxury Scandinavian room it would come off how it's currently intended (minimalist chic), but in your current setup it tips the room feel into budget dorm room vibe. Maybe there's a better way to use that fabric (more eyelets and have it run on a wire, or something...I don't know). Your staff is nice.

The hotel owner, Martin actually contacted me regarding this review with sincere apologies and hoping to better understand what he could do better. It was most appreciated and quite a nice gesture. He expressed that his staff would have done as much as possible to make things better such as providing additional light for the room or fans. He acknowledged better noting on the website regarding the lack of a/c and explained his hope to establish an industrial aesthetic which was evidenced in the rug, rubber bathroom floor and Edison lights. Although there might be a difference between establishing a particular aesthetic and still offering comfort in my opinion his concern was genuinely appreciated. Hopefully there will be some changes moving forward. Thank you Martin!

Some hoteliers say they want you to be comfortable, but few go above and beyond like The Graham & Co to ensure all of your needs and desires are met.

Noteworthy is the efforts they've taken refreshing and coordinating the exterior paint colors and garden furniture. A discerning eye will note the efforts to maintain a thematic exterior color coordination across all the units. The grounds are well maintained with a vast array of natural plantings, specimen trees, indiginous plants, which if you are a garden buff, you'll really appreciate the variety, quality and passion that went into these wonderful presentations. The rooms are simple, clean, with a vintage vibe authentic to a Catskills cottage experience. There is a large communal yard with a fire pit, volleyball net, hammocks and seating as well as several new Weber grills and picnic tables. Easy to congregate or just hangout by your cottage or on your porch. The Esopus Creek is a short walk across the property on the other side of the street. Best is the continental breakfast!!!! Fresh baked goodies, fruits, yogurts, coffees, bagels and various snacks. Grab a morning tray and sit out back as the morning greets you, you are transported to a natural relaxing environment. This stay was a great experience, they've really upped the game here while maintaining an authentic feeling of being in your own mountain cottage. We didn't use all the perks that come with a stay, (the pool The Kaleidoscope show, the restaurant or any paid spa services). We did their hot steam sauna, which was as it should be. The sauna entrance is an antique- just lovely. One can make a cup of tea/coffee in the lobby there. Our suite had complimentary slippers, which I wore the whole time I was there, three TVs, which we didn't use, a fridge as well as a little coffee station. The spa had lockers and long bathrobes available. We walked outside quite aways to get to the spa from our suite. But I have a feeling if we'd been unable or asked ahead they would have picked us up with a golf cart. As it is, we rode the loaner bikes they had outside of the lobby on our way back. Note adjust the seat to be higher or lower- it's easy. Our suite was very spacious and part of the Old Lodge. There's a nice creek flowing out back and we sat on our little balcony while we had coffee. We liked the relaxed atmosphere and the relative privacy. Yes the rugs and the countertops/shower/tubs should be upgraded. (I think there's a newer section of the Emerson so ask). As it stands we were pretty happy with our stay. Drove up two hours with family (sister in law had a massage booked) only to have her call minutes before arriving to tell her that the masseuse called in sick and wasn't coming in. We still went anyway because we were right down the road and, upon arriving, were greeted by a very defensive and unaccommodating owner, who we found out happens to be Elizabeth. I get it, people get sick, that isn't even the issue here although it's probably a good idea to have some sort of policy set up with your employees that doesn't allow them to cancel minutes before an appointment. Or, here's a thought, why not have more than one masseuse on staff? But who knows, for all we know, this might've even been a lie because she was giving my wife and sister-in-law such a hard time from the get-go, at the beginning of the reservation process and even when my wife went to buy the gift card. She was rude, didn't even apologize and instead, completely absolved herself from any responsibility for the matter. Just said there was nothing she could do and didn't even offer any kind of complimentary discount after we traveled so far to come to her spa. I've worked in customer service for many years and you always try to work with a customer, no matter the case. The only option she begrudgingly offered up was to text another "potential" employee who could "maybe" come in, but couldn't make any guarantees nor was she happy about having to potentially stay longer to wait around for an answer. If your reason for visiting Copperhood is to "get away from it all" and to detoxify for a week, you can be rest assured that by the end of the week you'll be filled right back up with another kind of toxicity from the owner. Book and stay at your own risk.

Not a big deal, but it still cost $400 a night. There is no bar here, no lobby "scene", and honestly the service isn't great. For $400 a night we got a DVD player, when we asked at 9pm for a DVD, they said they were closed. The next night, we rented DVDs early, but the DVD player wasn't connected, and when we asked, they said they would take care of it "tomorrow". Finally, on our last and third night they fixed it. This honestly is some sort of lifestyle adjustment, fat farm or whatever resort. That's not a pejorative, it just is. You pay a lot of money, and you take nature walks, eat raw foods, and go to bed early. Again, not a bad thing per se, but quite a lot for the money. we didn't do the spa/resort package, we just rented the condo. Every time we had an issue, the proprietor would say "you are not part of the resort, you rented the condo". As if it's a distinction with a difference. Really annoying service, but they are committed to what they want to be, which would explain why there were only 4 cars in the lot during Memorial Day weekend. Beautiful place. Phoenicia is cool. Woodstock is cool. But if you book here, don't ever think you're booking at a normal hotel. It's not. It's a beautiful place with beautiful scenery, but the service is next to zero, and it's basically a rehab facility. If you're looking for a fun time in the Catskills, this ain't it. If you're looking to nature walk and eat raw food and drink vegetable juice, it's all yours for ~$500 a night. The llamas are cool too
