I don't know if I've posted a review before, but if I have, it's the same rave review! Staff is friendly, location to freeway and stores is great, beds are comfy, love the separate sitting area (in the king room), clean. I also like that we can order from the continental breakfast the night before and arrange a pick up time. And the teeny tiny hooks on the tops of the hangers crack me up. Now, here's some important info. It's pretty quiet when we've been here (three times now), which we LOVE. Maybe it's the adult store in the next lot over that keeps families with kids away, but I'm honestly here for it. The last thing I want is kids screaming in the hallway, and that has not once been my experience. We've stayed here pre-Covid and during, and it's been great. And really, the beds are soft and comfortable. My only negative comment is that not all of the outlets in the lamp bases on the nightstands work. Oh well, I have a long charging cable and there's still an outlet by the bed where my phone can extend to the nightstand. Great hotel! Rooms are nice and big,beds are comfy! They have cookies which is really the most important thing am I right? the front desk staff has always been great! It's right across the street from a Dennys that serves alcohol and is open 24/7! The only negative is the way the TV is situated in the room is half/half between the bed and the sitting area which means you can't see the tv very well from either. Easy check in that required minimal contact during these weird times. The two ladies that were at the front desk while we were there were very pleasant and helpful! The rooms were an excellent size, the beds were comfy and the location was great. Just two buildings over is the police station so we felt quite safe in the neighborhood. It was right off the highway so there is a little bit of noise through the night but it wasn't so loud that it bothered us. Being off the highway made it very easy to get around. I've been staying in this hotel for many years (right through Covid) when I drive to the Seattle area and the front desk staff are so friendly and helpful. It's always a pleasure to check in and nab a fresh cookie in the afternoon! The rooms have always been very clean, the TV works, the coffee maker in the room works and a basic buffet breakfast is included in the morning. I tried another hotel in the area once early in my travels but came back to the Phoenix Inn. It's a lot of value for the price. I wish I could give it 5 stars but I was really put off by the bathroom this summer. The top of the baseboard was filthy and the glass shower door had dried water spray all over it. It didn't appear to have been cleaned which left me wondering if the shower floor had been cleaned. This was one less-than-great experience out of probably ten stays and I know help has been hard to get since Covid so I'll be seeing them again next time through and hope things are up to their usual excellent standards. read more

Nice staff. 2 queen beds, a pull out in the living room area and a kitchenette. We were placed in an ADA room. Which was fine and very large except the kitchenette was not ADA there is no way a wheel chair could get in this tiny kitchen. Free continental breakfast in morning was typical- lots of pastries, waffles, cereal, eggs and sausage. The accommodations this place offers for people with dogs is amazing! Not only was the room clean and well maintained, they provided us with dog treats and an extra "poo" bag when we checked in. Phoenix Inn Suites is not the place to stay if you have trouble sleeping with Highway 5 traffic noise. Right outside your window if you are in a King suite. I requested a room on the other side of the building when I booked. When I arrived I was told ALL the King Suites face the freeway. I requested a change to any room on the other side of the building no matter room or bed size. I was told no and offered ear plugs. read more

What a suprise to find such a nice hotel out here in the middle of no where lol. I had passed Albany OR. dozens of times and never noticed it. A friend and I were headed back home from Portland and we were getting tired and hungry so decided to find place to stay. I wasnt expecting much, but the second we walked into the beautiful lobby and greeted by a super friendly associate, I started feeling better about stopping here. Our 4th floor room was $116 and looked updated and felt very clean. There was no noise from other room the whole night. It was very large with bar, microwave and fridge. There is a pony wall separating the bed from the living room area making it feel like a studio apt. There are lots of places to eat nearby as well as a Winco and and Costco. This was my third time of staying here. The room was comfortable. It's nice to have a microwave and refrigerator in the room. We were able to enjoy the Jacuzzi this trip after a long drive. my only complaint is the breakfast this time was terrible. Eggs were watery the gravy was cold the biscuit was hard. It was bad enough that I literally couldn't even eat it. Come on people it's common sense if you're going to have something hot make sure the crockpot is turned on. All you guys need to do is spend a little bit of time and just make sure things are turned on. And I'm not quite sure why there was water in The eggs. First the good. All the staff I encountered were friendly. The check in process was painless and quick. The location is convenient and Denny's being close is good. Now the bad. This is not only a pet friendly hotel but, by the looks of things, people all know that and people with animals come here. There were soooo many dogs in and around the hotel it was obnoxious. This was not disclosed to us on the website. So you will have to deal with dogs and if you are allergic or don't like the smell of dogs indoors you should NOT stay here. You will also deal with barking and hear animal running around in rooms around you. The breakfast was terrible. The eggs were square and watery. I was told there was sausage and ham. There was no sausage available and the "ham" was ham squares like you would get at a salad bar - not breakfast ham. The fact they call this a "hot breakfast" is misleading. I've stayed at many hotels and this breakfast was by far the worst of any hotel I've stayed at. Spend an extra $10 and go eat breakfast at Denny's. We won't be staying here again. read more

I had planned on staying in this hotel 1-2 times a week for the next 2 years. I stayed Tuesday and was charged twice for my room. Went to the desk and was assured that the charge would be removed. Thursday I saw I had 3 pending charges 2 for the room and a 3rd charged with incidentals. I called and again was assured the charges would be removed in 5-7 days which I did not like but understood. Friday, I was now actually charged twice for the room and still had 1 charge pending for room and incidentals. So nearly 400.00 for a 111.00 charge. Saturday I call and leave a message to please call me. I got a call late Saturday and I explained above. She insisted there was only 1 charge. I explained again. Asked if I could forward my bank charges to her. She said "No". She said call your bank. She was the "Manager" and did not listen and was quite rude to me. I cancelled all future reservations and will take my business elsewhere. It is a clean hotel with a terrible Breakfast Buffet and the service was just ok until I had an issue. I'd recommend staying elsewhere as they do not care about the next 100 stays I would be booking there. Just my experience. read more

Stayed here recently, and got their last room in the place due to events occurring in nearby Eugene, OR. The last room was one of their "spa" suites, which meant a jacuzzi in the middle of the oddly laid out room. This was nice after an exhausting drive. (+) The room was fairly clean, convienient to the I5, and certainly spacious. (+) They had a room available that was non-smoking, and quiet despite being right by that I5. (+) The bed was very comfortable, which is sadly not as common as I'd like (my poor back). (+) Continental breakfast wasn't too bad. (-) The exercise room had two out of the three cardio machines broken completely, or in such disrepair it couldn't be used at all. The only thing left was a bike, which was lame. (-) The serve-yourself-cheapo-food breakfast room had a tip jar. Seriously? And I burnt my hand pouring coffee, although that was my own damn fault. (-) Slightly spendy considering the location and room. I'd stay here again because my back wasn't screaming when I woke up - comfortable bed is key! I just really hope they fix that exercise equipment. read more

Front desk told me that if i booked through a third party, such as travelocity or hotels.com, and they are full that night, they cannot honor what I requested which was a non-smoking room. 4th floor - BEWARE - Hallway smells like smoke & our room (404) was a smoking room and it reeked! 1st front desk woman told me she was SHOCKED that it smelled like smoke & gave me the crank to open my window. After airing it out for 4 hours, we came back to find it STILL stunk horribly. 2nd front desk woman (later in the evening) said she doesnt know WHY 1st woman told me that, because "Its a smoking room." It smelled TERRIBLE! And then told me about the "can't honor a 3rd party booking" which seems REALLY bogus and crazy. We packed our things and headed down the road to Corvallis & stayed at a non-smoking hotel close to campus & Reser Stadium. Would NOT recommend staying here. Didn't appreciate the front desk attendants and the flippant shrug of how I booked my stay. I asked, "How am I supposed to know your full for the night? I expect the room I booked is the room I get." Not the case & their attitude reflects that they don't care. read more

The beds are comfortable, the rooms are spacious and the coffee is delicious. We had our extended family staying in multiple rooms and the hotel was kind enough to put us all in one wing of one floor! It made our stay so much more fun! We had a funeral complication come up and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate whatever we needed to make things easier for us. Ok price, great breakfast and clean rooms. The power was out, which made our stay a little uncomfortable. No refunds, discounts, or assistance was offered from the power outage. They didn't even evacuate the hotel or let us know what was wrong. I'm giving this a 3 star rating but it would have been 5 if there was just a little better customer service during and after the outage. They did give us a window crank so we could open our window since it was so hot, but the traffic sounds made it hard to sleep. This would be a great hotel on any other night and I would try it again and increase this to a 5 if the power is on next time. read more

I can't say enough good stuff about this hotel and its staff!! We lived in Albany for over 24 years then had to move to Pennsylvania for my husband's job so everytime we came home we stayed here! The staff always treated us like family! It was a second home for us! Unfortunately this year we have lost both our moms and his sister so we have been back home more then normal. The staff here was always so wonderful and kind to us! When we did move back to the area the staff went above and beyond with accommodating us and our pets!! We also booked rooms for our family members for each memorial and our families were all impressed with the hotel! I recently stayed here for about two weeks on business, and found the Phoenix Inn to be a decent place to stay. The rates seemed reasonable, and they offer smoking and non-smoking rooms. I had no trouble getting late check ins or late check outs, and found the staff to be professional, helpful, and friendly. The Phoenix Inn is not really a luxury place, and I've heard that there are nicer places in town or in Corvallis, but it is not a bad place to stay. They do not have a restaurant or room service, but they do offer a decent breakfast (until 10 a.m.) with cereal, yogurt, waffles, biscuits and gravy, McDonalds style processed eggs, sausage, and canned fruit (that will reappear daily until it is gone). They also have juice and bad coffee (for good coffee, run down the street to the Beanery cafe). Some of the rooms get some noise from the highway or from the garbage truck, so be sure to ask for a quiet room. Otherwise, the rooms seem clean and comfortable. I was in a king bed non-smoking room, which comes with a decent sized desk, a small fridge, television, and wireless internet. The motel also offers a quite small workout room (the free weights only go up to 25 pounds) with television, a small swimming pool and hot tub, and a computer for guests to use. You will have to drive to a restaurant unless you walk across the street to Denny's or down the road to the Beanery. The location is also next to an all night adult shop, which shares a parking lot with the State Patrol. The location is just off of the interstate exit. All together, I think the place deserves four stars for its friendly service, comfortable rooms, and for exceeding my expectations for Albany. read more
