I needed more of my business cards in a hurry, but also needed two edits (email address and phone number changes). Keri took all my calls (4 or 5) as I slowly figured out exactly how, when, and what I wanted. She found a person to make the edits quickly and send the proofs for my review. I was recently in the market for a large print order for my business. Phoenix media has come highly recommended by local friends who I've asked about printing services. I contacted them asking for a quote and gave all my specifications in full detail and told someone would return my call promptly. I missed a phone call from a representative letting me know they had a quote ready for me. I called back 3 times in the following days and was unable to reach anyone in time to send them my print order and give them my business. The customer service i received on the phone was great but there is apparently an issue managing clients. I would love if management would like to reach out to me to resolve this issue, as i have more print jobs in the future and would love if my mind could be changed about this local company I've heard so many great things about. read more

I placed an order on March 3rd for envelopes. I approved a proof through their website. After a month, I had not received my order so I checked on the status, it was still asking for an approval. I approved the proof again and then emailed and called them on 4/12 to make sure the order would be filled, I did not hear back. I emailed again on 4/20, asking about the order again, this time I received a reply saying the order was "on track to be finished early next week". I did receive a call from Patrick after this, he said there was some sort of issue and that he was waiting on a finish date for the order but assured me it would be finished early the next week. On 5/4, two weeks later... I called asking about the order , they did not have it finished. I spoke with a woman (who was very nice) she said all of their orders had a three day turn around and had no idea why it would take that long, she said they would get to the bottom of it. I received a call back from Patrick and he said the order would be completed by Friday. I'm guessing it still had not been started. The order was cancelled. There are plenty of other print businesses that have quick turn around good product. read more

I hired Phoenix Media remotely to print and hang 500 flyers around Portland to promote a free computer science class at the Portland Community College. The team at Phoenix did an EXCELLENT job -- ran around to public libraries, specific zip codes, lots of neighborhoods. They went the extra mile to make sure this class was promoted. I needed some printing done for my Yelp Eats! promotion... menus, to be exact, and I needed them done quickly. I of course had 2 options - go to FedEx and pay The Man to print them for me, or stroll on over to the 'local option' and possibly pay a tad more to have them done there. Pretty much a no-brainer. Phoenix did a great job on what was pretty much a simple and quick project. B/W print, one-sided, 70# white stock, 2750 pages, $198. I called my man Eric and had a quote back in my hands pretty quickly. Sent over some PDF's and had the print job back within a day. They obviously printed this one in-house, but from what I understand, they likely outsource bigger, full-color jobs out to some of the larger print-houses (which is what most print brokers do). Beyond the B/W stuff, I had them do a run of color 8x10's on the same stock that ended up costing about $.35/page, which was fine since I was in a rush. Those were done in-house as well. Quality work, as promised, good service, in-house design... I wouldn't hesitate to use them again! read more

Went to Phoenix Media to get my business cards printed. The design I had created wasn't a good resolution, so one of the graphic designers had to redo it for me. He told me that he'd have a proof ready in 2 days. Now, I knew he was really busy (he had already told me, "we've been swamped recently"), so if he had told me that the design would take a week, I wouldn't have had a problem. But after 3 days I hadn't heard anything. Long story short, it took a bit over a week for the design. But the business cards printed out exactly on schedule (5-7 days), and I'm really satisfied with the results. I just wish that I had been given a more realistic timeline for the design (and, failing that, that there had been better communication once the 2-day deadline had passed). In the end, though, I would definitely recommend Phoenix. read more

In both cases Patrick (the guy who helped me) was cordial, laid back, and super-helpful. What an amazing experience. If I could this place would get 10 stars. Heather was patient and helpful and most of all knowledgeable about what she was doing. The poster my husband needed printing had charts and images that would not have looked good at the size he initially wanted. Heather explained everything, suggested a better size, explained what we could do differently the next time, and had a huge smile (non-mocking, at least I hope :) the whole time. Add to that, we had asked for some color copies on standard paper. All the prints and the poster came out great! These guys are available on the web. Over a month after I first contacted Phoenix Media, I got my business cards. They look really nice. After sending the files and getting some design kinks worked out, I had an order officially placed on Friday the 4th right before EOB. I followed up on Monday the 7th and asked about a completion date. I mentioned that there was a function the upcoming weekend and I'd love to have some cards if possible. Heather informed me that turnaround is usually 5-7 business days but she would check production and get back to me. The next time I heard back from Phoenix was Monday the 14th letting me know that my cards were done. The cards are very nice. Don't get me wrong. Fantastic quality. They were also not very cheap. I have no problem paying for quality but these are definitely the most expensive cards I've ever bought and I've bought business cards at least a dozen times. I have a postcard order that I need to run and I'm going to try with another company to see how it goes. I may be back to Phoenix, I may not. I'm finding much better prices elsewhere, we'll just have to see how the quality and customer service are. I just didn't get a warm fuzzy from working with Phoenix. Even if my cards weren't going to be done for the weekend, a call back that was promised would have been nice. At one point I was asked in an email to update my review with something positive and I hadn't even received my cards yet. read more

I went on living my life for another week and half and shot them another email... no response. I stopped by because I needed two posters printed and the man there (Patrick) was very nice and helpful! He told me while they didn't usually do orders like that because the minimum prints were 100, he did it anyways since it was a slow day. I think he took pity on me also because I was really confused on what I wanted and where else to go. I gave him my USB with the photos and he patiently took the time to work his magic. Ten minutes later I walked out with two wonderful prints! He initially charged me only $8 but I only had $3 in cash so that's what I paid. He told me not to worry about it but I wanted to pay him something for being so wonderful!! I highly recommend this place for printing.
