Lovely lady. Went to visit with my kids in September 2019 and the ranch is closed to the public unfortunately.

Luckily, I was referred on Facebook to Stacy and she's been caring for my dogs and house sitting since. My boys LOVE her so. She brings them treats, spends genuine time with them, walks them, loves on them, and plays with them. When I rescued and fostered a stray puppy a while ago she even bought a super nice toy for the pup. She's a heart of gold and we are so blessed to have the best for our dogs. One time we got stuck out of town and Stacy was able to last minute get over to our house and save the day. I highly highly highly recommend her. Thank you Stacy for being such a wonderful person and genuine animal lover.

Stacy treated my dog as her own (along with also watching my sister's puppy & rabbit at the same time) and sent daily updates with pictures. She made sure my dog got plenty of activity and love while I was gone! My worries were quickly relieved knowing my dog was in good, caring hands. Anytime I've seen Stacy since then, my dog is so excited to see her; the loving relationship she has with the animals she cares for truly shows. It is hard to find a trustworthy and reliable dog sitter, but Stacy goes above & beyond to make sure your animals are well taken care of while you're away. She exceeded all of my expectations and I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a pet sitter!

My usual boarding place was booked up due to the onset of summer and so were the 3 subsequent places I checked. So glad Happy Paws had recommended Blue Ridge. Kaitlin, the owner gave me a tour of the modest but well maintained grounds and explained her philosophy. I was very impressed at the service between her and Rebecca. I forgot to bring my dogfood back and Rebecca was kind enough to drop it off at my house when she was in town. The online reservation system makes things really easy. Near the freeway, it makes drop offs en route to the airport easy.

One of my dogs typically gets so anxious when he is being boarded that he won't eat, but he will eat here. I personally believe it is the higher level of attention he gets here. Rebecca is awesome! In fact last year I went into labor A MONTH EARLY. I contacted them and they made accommodations for us to drop off on the way to the hospital. Rebecca was so helpful during such a stressful time and grabbed the dog from the car nascar pit-stop style. We had our daughter about two hours after making it to the hospital. We love this place and so do the dogs. A true hidden gem!

PEDIGREE REVEALS HISTORY…read more The 1970's in thoroughbred racing were considered to the be Golden Age due to the 3 Triple Crown winners. I don't want to show my age but I went to Kentucky to visit the last two Triple Crown Winners from the 1970's: Seattle Slew and Affirmed. You can say that this past decade, especially the latter half, has been the closest to the Golden Age since there have been 2 Triple Crown winners. What interests me about thoroughbred racing is the history behind the pedigree. In fact you don't have to travel to Kentucky to see the descendants of the 3 Triple Crown Winners you can come to this farm. That's what I did during the week of July 4 when I went to this farm on July 2. I was met by the owner Ellen Jackson from the farm where she showed me around the farm. First she showed me barn where the weanlings are stalled. The next thing place I went to the barn where two-year-olds were kept. She also showed me the hot walker - a device for horses to walk around in circle as they cooled down. In addition I was able to go to fields to interact with some of the horses. I was there mostly to see the stallions. What a horse's pedigree tells you is the story in the its bloodline. The stallion Many Rivers, through his mother, is a grandson of Affirmed. In addition the father of Many Rivers is a grandson of another Triple Crown Winner Secretariat. During Affirmed's Triple Crown campaign his rival was Alydar. The stallion Idiot Proof, through his father, is a grandson of Alydar. The stallion Bold Chieftain, through his father, is a grandson of Seattle Slew. When it comes to petting stallions you have to be careful as they can be highly spirited due to their testosterones. There are other horses you at the farm you can pet. If you want to engage yourself to how a thoroughbred farm operates without going to Kentucky I recommend visiting Victory Rose.

I've continued to work with him using tips I learned from Juniper. After working together for so long, Garnet's trust in me has developed to the point where we frequently get compliments from strangers on his focus and behavior. I can even walk closely next to well behaved dogs now without worry. So many of Juniper's recommendations have been woven into my life with Garnet and changed how I work with him and handle him in many ways. There are some things we still won't do (dog parks, off leash crowded hikes) but Garnet's life is so much richer than I would have envisioned it when we first started training sessions when he was 1.5 years old.

I went into it feeling self-conscious about my lack of knowledge, ashamed at the behaviors that my dog had developed, and not sure that consulting a trainer would make a difference for us. As it turns out, I didn't need to worry about any of that. In addition to being very knowledgeable, Juniper is kind, understanding, patient, encouraging, and always positive. She has given us tons of new resources and is always willing to answer questions. More than anything, our sessions were about training me to be able to read my dog's behavior, and being able to react appropriately and employ the right techniques. Juniper set realistic expectations for our sessions, and I came away from the experience with a whole new set of tools and the ability and confidence to continue working with my dog on my own. We are finally making real progress, and my bond with my dog has greatly improved. I highly recommend Juniper, especially if you are feeling lost and unsure about working with a trainer. She will get you going in the right direction.

Overall, in terms of competition with other big box pet stores, which I usually don't support when…read moreit comes to aquarium pets, this location is by far the best. You can obviously tell that they have a dedicated staff to the aquatic section that actually care about what they're doing and go out of their way to keep everything clean, neat, organized, and for the most part the stock is healthy and there's a great variety. The store gets a high rating when it's compared to other big box companies that are similar to it, but my only grievance and the reason why it didn't get five stars is because they have an in-store policy where they try to tell you that they can't sell any pets or aquatics one hour prior to closing. As somebody who used to work in these kinds of stores, I understand that closing is sometimes hectic when still having to tend to customers and anyone would love to be able to get their closing routines done by closing, but that's not how business works. In a perfect world as a prior employee that would've been awesome to be able to clock out once the doors close but once the store closes, that is when the closing routine and taking care of all the animals for the night is supposed to begin. During operating hours, sales should never stop. So although it can be extremely annoying when customers show up late or close to closing, sometimes that's all people can do depending on their work shift and they're trying to make it to the store before it closes. An average person might think, just come the next day when they're open, but when it comes to first come first serve on certain fish that are already hard to find, you want to be able to get what you can find as soon as possible before someone else comes before you. A pretty long grievance, yes, but I like to be thorough lol

First time the groomer was "sick" and I got rescheduled for like a week later and then the groomer "had to have emergency surgery" meaning I had to get rescheduled again. More recently I had an appointment for grooming and was called the day of and told that the "air conditioning was broken and it was too hot to do appointments". I was rescheduled for today and was called again because this time "the groomer has norovirus". I will not be rescheduling again. The individuals running this grooming department are either the unluckiest and unhealthiest individuals alive, or flat lying and I'd bet on the latter at this point. Don't waste your time trying to schedule here. I also book with any groomer and not a specific individual. 2 stars because when they have been groomed the dogs looked decent.
