Phoenix Scuba is amazing! I 100% recommend this company. I received my PADI open water certification from Phoenix Scuba. I did my online coursework before the class, on April 6th I did pool training, the 7th and 8th I met the team at Lake Pleasant for field training. Phoenix Scuba's facility is extremely clean, their scuba kits were always well maintained, and their instruction is very clear. Kelly helped me by accommodating my busy schedule. Steve was a very patient instructor for my first day. At the lake, Steve, Bobby Joe, and another instructor made me and the other students feel very comfortable. They worked within all of our limits and everyone was able to complete the field training and receive their open water certification. They had everyone work with a dive buddy and provided individual and clear directions for training that made the dive experience feel very secure. At one point one of the classmates was scared, and despite being a group class they were able to work with this student and provide more personalized feedback allowing the student to finish the dives and the training they needed. At the lake they provided a wide variety of wetsuits and dive gear options so that every diver had the equipment that worked best for them. This is a company that really loves scuba and they were able to provide many personal anecdotes that make me extremely excited for my first trip as a scuba diver. My friend and I just got certified for open water dive. This was one of the best experiences we had and we are so glad to get the certification through Phoenix Scuba. The owners; Steve & Kelly along with Matt and team are incredibly amazing. Steve and Kelly have years of experience and highly knowledgeable. Kelly is so passionate about diving and you will see it when she teaches. She is extremely friendly, patient and goes through each and every nuance. I had a hard time trying to find a schedule between myself and my friend. Kelly was flexible to come up with a slot which worked for both of us. The first day was classroom training covering the basics. Unlike other typical classroom training (usually boring), this was completely interactive. Kelly also provides her own real life examples and we can actually see how this applies when doing dives at the pool and lake. The next session is at the pool. Pool being a controlled environment, helped us get to know the various equipment like BCD, Regulators, etc. Kelly also walked us through the various skills like equalizing the ears, buoyancy control, etc. They ensured that we are totally safe when doing our skills and was closely monitoring all the time. The third and the fourth session happened at Lake Pleasant. This was basically a revision of all the skills and techniques that we had learnt prior but in an uncontrolled environment. We knew nothing about diving but were curious. Kelly and Steve made us feel welcome. Kelly took the time to sit with us and explain every detail about diving we asked questions about. She was friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. All questions we could think of were answered and we left well informed and educated. Steve is an excellent instructor. They teach you all the safety you need for diving, they go over all the equipment, and they teach you in a fun structured environment. They answer every question, Steve gives you all these fine examples and teaches you carefully and patiently along the way. His instruction is super easy to follow. We could not have picked better people to train us to scuba. They are patient and super flexible. We are glad we got our training from Steve and Kelly. read more

Thank you Phoenix SCUBA for the most amazing experience! I was really nervous about diving and Steve was so supportive during the entire certification! I could not have finished without these guys :) we also had some crazy schedule issues between my boyfriend and I and Kelly was SO accommodating! I loved that they didn't force us to buy any gear before taking the course because I was hesitant to spend extra money only to find out scuba wasn't for me or I didn't like the way that particular gear worked. During the course I was able to use different kinds of masks so I was able to make an educated decision on what gear I liked best. I want to tell people how great they have been to deal with after the frustration I had had with another Scuba Shop in Phoenix that reneged on my $400 Scuba package purchased after buying out the original company I purchased my package through. The instructors here are great to work with and my fear of diving was turned around into looking forward to getting certified. I have to say that Kelli has been great to deal with and after coming out from my pool class saw a smile on my face for the first time since being skeptical after my previous treatment from the other shop. I love the staff!! I am officially open water certified! I cannot thank the instructors at Phoenix Scuba enough. I began this process because I have always thought it would be fun and I will be vacationing this summer. Come to find out I was absolutely terrified. Kelly and Steve are fun, kind and supportive. I got certified as a PADI advanced open water diver at Phoenix Scuba. Steve let me practice my buoyancy skills in the pool prior to certification. Getting scuba certified at Phoenix Scuba was a phenomenal experience. The entire team was personable, friendly, and knowledgable. I just returned from a 7-day trip to Cozumel, Mexico with Kelly and Steve. Everything was so well organized all we had to think about was organizing our gear and getting to the boat on time. I've taken multiple courses here, all the way up to my Master Scuba cert, and they've been nothing but excellent the whole way. Tried getting my mom certified for a while, and while I wasn't able to talk her into it, Steve and Kelly surely had no problem making it happen (as well as my brother getting certified)! Kelly is the most patient instructor you will ever find and will stick with you until you are comfortable with each step. After certification we went on a trip and again they were so patient and helpful. Kelly was great! My wife was a little anxious about the whole deal. Kelly was so patient and nice. She even gave my wife a mask because the style made her less anxious in the water. Kelly took her time with us and made my wife feel very comfortable. They took all of her fears away. Would highly recommend certifications here.
