After the debacle with my passport, I knew I had to take new shots. For once, I didn't hate my previous photo, but sadly, I would have to renew it eventually. I had a few photo places narrowed down that did these specific photos and after calling a bunch of them to get their rates/hours, I had narrowed it down to two. Photo Center was more central to what I know, so I finally made the trip over after attempting to do my hair for once. I street parked on Hayworth north of Beverly, a quick walk over. Once I entered, there was only one person in there (Marvin!) behind the counter. First I asked if a photo I had taken myself with the appropriate background would be considered and he said he could take a look. Right away, he said there wasn't enough lighting; that I could try to submit it, but it could be turned down. Since I figured this might happen, I decided to take new photos in the moment. Back in another room is the setup, and Marvin was easy to talk to, considering I despise having my photo taken. He took 3, and I was able to view all of them. All of them looked terrible (it was NOT him; it was all me) but I made a joke that the squiggly lines on the actual passport will probably help my image. As for the shop, it looks like something I would have gone in with my parents way back in the day. It's cool to see all of those old machines, and all the film, a lost art so to speak. It was nice to see a customer purchasing film as well, and as he asked the long-forgotten question of 'glossy or matte' prints, I had to smile. Total was under $20, getting the photos printed took less than five minutes, and now I'm one step closer to getting this new passport that I have been slacking off on. Marvin will also crack a clean joke here and there which is always fun. I wish I had more reasons to come by, but I told him most likely I'll see him in another ten years (unless I lose this passport...) Highly recommended, and glad I chose this place!

The service from The Photo Center was excellent. I had a disposable camera to be developed and scan to digital and they did an excellent job.

Do you take digital passport photos? how much is it for a printout of a 2x2 US passport photo and a digital copy as well?

Currently US Passport photos are $15.95 for two photos.

I have my own digital passport pictures. Do you have the photo printing? How much is for 10 pictures?

Passport photos printed from your digital file are $5.95 for two photos US passport size. Thanks for the inquiry.

Do you repair VHS video cameras? If not, do you know anyone who does?

Currently, we are offering limited services at the door. Please call to verify hours and if what you require can be provided at this time. Thanks.

I have a vintage Canon FD lens that I believe has a broken mount. Can you give me an estimate to what the repair cost would be? Or if that is a repair you can even do? Thanks!

We do repairs to Canon FD lenses, but would need to see the lens before giving an estimate of repair. Please bring in the lens or send it to us for a free estimate. Thanks.

Do they clean cameras and around how much per camera?

We do routine cleaning during repair, and exterior cleaning. Price depends on equipment type and necessary repairs. Free estimates. Bring in the camera. Thanks.

I am looking for a solar photo filter 77mm. Where can i find one in LA? Thanks

We do not carry that filter. I don't know the inventory of other stores in the area. Maybe Samy's Camera or Mel Pierce Camera.

How much does this establishment charge for a standard us passport photo?

I think it was about 15 or 20... but why don't you just pick up the phone and call them? they are very nice.

I've sent countless other photographers and producers here. I and am so disappointed to say that their production quality and customer service has become so poor, I've finally thrown in the towel and will never return. Some of the issues I've encountered in the last two years: Numerous rolls damaged in their processor or scanning workflow, prints lost in the shuffle or never delivered on time, and zero communication from their "customer service representatives". The recent fast employee turnover rate comes to no surprise as no one seems to know what they're doing anymore. The majority of staff are all suddenly under 25 years old and there's a "new technician" or counter clerk every week I go in. Just yesterday a man named "Aaron" called me (claiming to be one of the owners, when I personally know the owner Ramesh and Rathin) and tried to solve a problem we were having with some prints. He was completely incompetent and lied about his position at The Icon. With love and respect, I hope they get it back together one day but if you have any care whatsoever about your film, prints or customer service, save yourself the time and money and go literally anywhere else.
