I have to say that when I first started thinking about doing a boudoir shoot(after I saw Rayleigh's booth at the Oregon bridal show in March) for my husband as his wedding gift, I felt a little weird about it. What was it going to be like? Is it going to be awkward and uncomfortable? Would taking someone with me make it more comfortable? How much am a going to be willing to show in front of a stranger? I looked into a few different places, as you always should. But there was just something about all of her information, reviews, and obviously the photos that really put me at ease. She doesn't just use the 'best' photos she has taken, because all of them are AMAZING! I love that she puts up the before and after photos as a preview on her Facebook, after she ask's you if its ok of course:) The shoot itself was really fun. The makeup artist was awesome as well. The shoot was relaxed and very comfortable. She ask's you if you are comfortable with poses before asking you to ever do them. The hardest part about the whole thing is, what do I do with my hands lol, hands are awkward, but she knows what she is doing. I am originally from Oregon, I live in WA, but our wedding was in OR. So scheduling was going to be really hard I thought, since I wasn't going to be there more then a week before the wedding and needed to hide the whole thing from mmy situation to her she made it all work. After it was all said and done, I choose the 5x7 image box, and ended up buying two additional photos because I just could NOT narrow down to 10. They were just so awesome! I've seen a few people complain on here about the price. I am a firm believer in 'you get what you pay for', and I definitely got my money's worth with this. So if you don't want to pay the price and get something that you will LOVE forever, than go somewhere cheap and get some trashy pictures. I took a bunch of stuff with me, more then I needed really. But some of the things I took were, an NFL jersey, a shirt of his, my wedding boots, an NFL sweater, heels, a few pieces of lingerie, some really cute bras and matching undies. Im not very good at pairing outfits of this nature together, but she has some stuff too. She helped me decided what looked good together and pretty much told me what to wear after I told her I had no idea what I was doing lol. One of the many great things about my pictures are they are not trashy. They are very tasteful and beautiful. I showed a bunch of people and had no shame because they are that good. My step mom was evening looking at them while I was out of the room, my dad walked in and said "Oh MY GOD! is that my daughter?!" haha, so she picked out a couple that were appropriate to show him. I had been looking to do a Boudoir shoot for a while, I checked out a few places on my own and then started seeing deals on Living Social and Groupon. So when they would come up I would check out their websites, Rayleigh was the first one I saw that I like and had pictures similar to what I was looking for so I bought the living social deal that I saw. First off I am a very self-conscious person, always have been but I felt completely comfortable while I was there. I never felt like I wanted to grab the closest thing to me to cover up. When I got there the hair and make-up girl was all set to go. She did an amazing job! I loved my make-up and hair. I even got to relax with a glass of wine :). When it was time for the shoot we just got right into it. I didn't have to do any thinking about posing or what I thought would be sexy. She moves you through poses and facial expressions and even though you might feel silly, she knows what she's doing. That was perfect for me, I'm great at following suggestions. I did find the prices a bit high but when I got my pictures back and saw how amazing they were I can't really put a price on what I'm getting. These pictures are mine forever. and when I'm 80 I get to look back at them and say "Hell yeah, I was HOT!" I can't say enough about how much I love my pictures. I have told all my friends how much I loved the whole experience and even though the price seems steep you get to freeze yourself in time looking amazing. OH and there was a comment above that gave a low rating and talked about professionalism. The studio is in her house yes, but it is in a separate area her whole upstairs is turned into a studio, I felt completely comfortable. Rayleigh is good at what she does she knows her stuff, so who cares if she saw something she loved and wanted to give it a shot for an amazing photo. She is continuing to improve herself and her profession. He demeanor is also professional, but relaxed which make you feel relaxed unless you want someone uptight taking pictures of you less than fully clothes, which I do not. GO WITH RAYLEIGH! When planning our wedding last year, my husband and I really wanted a videographer, but also wanted to stay under $1000. We looked at other options before going with Rayleigh, and although they did an incredible job, the cost was beyond our budget, (somewhere in the $3000 range!) A family friend referred us to Rayleigh, and to tell you the truth, we went with Rayleigh because she was the most affordable. THIS IS WHY I LOVED OUR VIDEO: ~I balled my eyes out just at the opening scene. She captured the absolute best and most memorable parts of our wedding. It seemed like she really knew us based on the video because she got what was most important to us: prayer, family, tasteful couples dancing, funny couples dancing, first dance, mother/father dance, picture taking of wedding party and just the 2 of us, toasts, and cake cutting. ~She made us look so beautiful/handsome by slowing some parts down and focusing in on sentimental moments. The camera style was modern with different motions, which I liked a lot. ~She coordinated our personal music selection just perfectly with each scene without any input from us. I was so impressed by that because the songs really matched well with the emotions of the moment. ~By far she is the most affordable person out there who does QUALITY work, (as good as the others in the $3000 range with maybe less content). The only thing I forgot to ask her was when the video would be approximately finished. It took 6 months to get, and it honestly was worth the wait because it was something to look forward to. She did express that she was very busy during that time with a promo she did in the winter, so that delayed her getting our video to us sooner. But here's what impressed me: she was honest about it and communicated the progress in those 6 months via email. She stuck right to her anticipated timeline. I'm a fan and would refer any one of my friends getting married to her. I may use her in the future for her boudoir photos too. read more

Price: BEST PRICE you will find in the Portland area. Let me save you some wheeling and dealing time. I looked into 5 different studios and Rayleigh's prices were the most fair and honest. There were no hidden fees. I had a good idea of what I would spend before I locked in the appointment. She did not make me feel uncomfortable or pressure me into spending more. Value: The initial photoshoot session was $195 and included a professional hair stylist and makeup artist! Now that is a deal in itself... so have something fun planned for afterwards because that is a smokin' deal! Rayleigh was incredible! Very professional yet makes you feel very comfortable. I was very nervous about having such intimate pictures taken by a complete stranger but she made the experience fun and much less scary than I thought it would be. Her studio is the entire upstairs of her home and really a neat set up. Once I got there (early because I was so nervous) she sat and talked with me and I had a chance to get to know her. I think that really helped me feel even more comfortable. I was doing these pictures for my fiancé for a wedding gift and wanted to do something that he would be able to keep forever. The make up and hair artist was awesome. She did a smoky eye and made my hair look beautiful. I was in a time crunch and Rayleigh bent over backwards to fit me in and get my pictures back quickly. As far as the pictures go I was amazed. Hard to look at myself all done up but I am so thankful I did this. At 42 years old I have body issues and being a single mom of 2 boys am usually in sweats and no make-up. The pictures turned out so nice. They looked like the best version of me and I adore them and I know my soon to be husband will love them also. I loved working with Rayleigh. She was relaxed and easy going, and I didn't feel rushed at all, even though my session was a brief one because of my tight budget--it seemed like we had lots of time. I liked that she didn't pressure me to go any certain way with my hair or makeup, or even what clothes I should put on or take off. She was supportive of my leanings, and offered suggestions when I asked for them. Her studio is in her home in King City, and it was new, warm and welcoming feeling--very professional in spite of it being her personal space. I liked the way my photos turned out, with a few being more intimate and silly, and some just like a regular photo shoot, where I could display the photos in my home or give them as gifts to family. She had a lot of classy props and effects, and her make-up and hair gal was really good. I recommend Rayeigh for family and children's photos too--my friend has a toddler that Rayleigh worked wonders with! Rayleigh will work with your budget and goals. I went in wanting only a few photos, and she accommodated that without pressuring me to upgrade. Another thing about photographers that I've noticed is that when they've been doing it too long, they lose interest--Rayleigh is still very fresh, energetic and creative. If you've ever considered having a boudoir photo shoot done, Rayleigh is the photographer you should chose! For most people having their picture taken is nerve wracking enough, let alone having your picture taken while you're half naked, but my jitters fell by the wayside almost immediately. Rayleigh made me feel very comfortable and was great about asking right away what I was comfortable with, any poses I had in mind, what body parts I wanted to play up or hide, etc...She really put me at ease, which is reflected in my pictures. She's a professional but was so fun and friendly my shoot ended up feeling like I was just hanging out with a girlfriend having fun as opposed to having naked pictures taken by a stranger :) The thing that sold me on Rayleigh was her diverse clientele (everything from grandmas to brides to be, plus size gals to skinny little things) and how she made EVERYONE, even those women who don't fit society's idea of beauty, look fantastic. She went out of her way to work around my inflexible schedule which I greatly appreciated. Once my pictures were done there was no pressure to buy a more expensive package or any add ons, which I also liked. This is my husband and my 40th wedding anniversary year and I wanted to commemorate it with professional photos. I spent a lot of time on the internet looking at websites of photographers that I thought would work well with us "oldsters". When I found Rayleigh I felt a connection with her work for couples. Rayleigh made us feel comfortable, an amazing feat with my husband who is happiest on his tractor in flannel shirt and dirty jeans. Rayleigh was able to capture us in a range of moods and poses: from fun, to cuddly, to elegant. I always blink when a camera goes off, but Rayleigh only shoots in natural light so there were no flashes to trigger my blinking. I would highly recommend opting for the hair and makeup option - I felt like a queen for a day! We were so pleased with Rayleigh's photographs of us that we treated our daughter and new son-in-law to a photo shoot at her studio to commemorate their marriage (they were married in a simple ceremony at the county courthouse earlier). We then commissioned Rayleigh to photograph our daughter and son-in-law's wedding reception in the evening in a majestic barn where she had to contend with low light and colored disco lights from the DJ. I turned 30 in January and decided to give myself a gift of pictures of ME. I'd thought about this for a while and finally decided to go for it. I actually had purchased a Groupon for another company and then was appalled to discover that the deal was not as good as promised. So I was searching and discovered Rayleigh! Just reading her website I felt a good vibe. When the day came she was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable. I was on a budget and so went with the shorter session but hair and makeup was included and I didn't feel rushed at all. Hair and makeup were great and Danielle (I think that was her name!) made me look super glamorous! I had never had professional photos taken let alone boudoir so I was a little nervous/not sure what to do. Rayleigh was really great helping me pick what to wear from all the stuff I brought and gave great directions as to poses. A friend has used Rayleigh and I loved how her photos turned out. Contacted her via email to inquire about pricing and she offered several different options. Budget was a concern, but she offers a mini-session that was just what I was looking for (a mix of boudoir and professional looking photos). This was a gift for my husband (and to myself for losing almost 100lbs) and I was nervous about doing boudoir shots. Her studio is in her home and she had a make up artist come in to do my hair and makeup. The make up artist asked me questions about what look I wanted (more natural or more glamor, etc.) and really seemed to listen to what I wanted. I felt like I still looked like myself after wards but just better. Rayleigh was very pleasant (and so was the make up artist). The session was very relaxed and comfortable. I was very nervous and anxious about how the photos would turn out. I was blown away...I still can't believe that it's me in the photos. I loved my photo shoot with Rayleigh!!! I did a family session with my husband and our 8-month-old baby, and I also sneaked in a couple boudoir pictures, which i'm saving as a surprise for my husband for St. Valentine! I was impressed by how precisely Rayleigh and her make-up and hair professional captured the style of the session that i wanted. I wanted a family and baby photo shoot, but more on the glam side. This was my second formal session with Rayleigh, and I had also done an impromptu sitting at her Grand Re-Opening after her studio remodel. I still can't say enough about the quality of her work. This time, I chose a Grace Kelly meets Audrey Hepburn old Hollywood glamour, pin-up sort of theme, and I think we pulled it off very successfully. We planned ahead using Pinterest as a tool for brainstorming. I'm still not always comfortable having my picture taken (always worried about having my eyes closed, etc.), but Rayleigh 's style inspires trust, puts you completely at ease, and brings out your inner beauty, your personality, and your best features. Mom and I loved the results so much that we sprung for the largest package with 30 images!! I have gotten so many compliments from the head shots I've shown or posted on Facebook. It was a confidence-inspiring, empowering experience as well, because my initial session about 5 years ago was taken during a difficult time. This artist knows her stuff and was able to put me at ease during not one, but two separate occasions (this is not an easy task). I am also simultaneously picky AND idealistic about how I want my body to look, how much of my face is in the shot, and making me look thin at all times, lol, so you can bet that was a real cup of tea:) She was gracious, funny, and listened to what I asked for without getting exasperated. Moreover she came through on everything I asked for. She really knows how to direct your body to it's most flattering pose so definitely trust her to direct the shoot. Also very adept with moving from one place to the next--pose after pose--no time is wasted for how many photos she can fit into an hour. (or more). The quality is absolutely beautiful. Crisp, detailed images minus all the flaws that come with it. If you have pink blotchy skin that never tans and never looks milky like some light skin does, expect nothing short of a miracle. I was blessed with the opportunity to have Rayleigh do a pinup-theme photo shoot for me. It started with having my hair and makeup done by one of her professional stylists. I couldn't believe how she made me look! I loved it and it set the tone for feeling beautiful and confident for the shoot. I then spent an hour with Rayleigh while she worked her magic. She had the photos available for viewing/purchasing the same day. When I saw my photos I cannot express the happiness I felt. The photos truly captured my beauty, personality, sexiness and confidence. Her work far exceeded my expectations and I can't imagine going to a different photographer in the future. Rayleigh captured my daughter's inner and outer beauty perfectly! My daughter is a senior this year, and although she wanted Senior pictures, she was also very nervous about the idea of being photographed. She can be very self-conscious. However, Rayleigh made her feel so comfortable, so beautiful, so confident -- and these emotions shined in every picture. My daughter walked on air for hours after the shoot. When I saw the first picture, I actually teared up! Rayleigh worked hard to make sure my daughter's assets were showcased and also made sure that the areas that made her self-conscious were NOT showcased -- resulting in very natural pictures that complement her best features. Also, Rayleigh was very accommodating and helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure the pictures were done to the yearbook's specifications and on their deadline. I absolutely loved working with Rayleigh on my boudoir photos. The photos were a surprise wedding gift to my husband and Rayleigh could not have been more wonderful throughout the entire process. I was very apprehensive; I felt that I did not have the body for boudoir photos. Despite my misgivings I convinced my friend to take the same leap I was and buy a package to surprise our husbands for Christmas with. This was the best leap I've made in a while. Rayleigh made me feel comfortable and sexy. Her hair and makeup artist made me look much hotter than I ever could. Rayleigh had many pose ideas and she was open to my suggestions. She allowed me to use way to many outfits and was very understanding when the garter just wouldn't connect correctly. The pictures turned out amazing, I even bought more then I was going too originally because I just couldn't pick a one or two. And while Christmas is not here and my husband does not yet know what is in that box under the tree I know his reaction upon opening said box is going to be fantastic. I was a little nervous before my Boudoir photo shoot with Rayleigh. After I got there, I was having a great time and really at ease after about 10 minutes! Rayleigh brought in a hairstylist/make up artist from Mariposa to do my hair and makeup; she was really fun to talk to and did an EXCELLENT job! I looked beautiful for my shoot! I also brought my Mom and 18 month old daughter with me. Rayleigh was totally fine with this and was so sweet to my little girl. She was very patient with me having to change a diaper or get milk every once in a while. Not everyone is so patient with this! But she was great. I felt really comfortable while doing the pictures and Rayleigh was very professional. She had great ideas for poses! All in all a FABULOUS experience. Such a TREAT!
