We were in town to celebrate my best friend's birthday, and she highly recommended giving this place a try. The OG Roti Onion Tofu Tacos were delicious! The tofu was flavorful and had a good texture. The roti was a good vessel. It was soft but able to hold all the filling. Drizzled on top, the sriracha lime mayo added spice and sweetness. I enjoyed it! My husband had OG Roti Pork Belly Tacos, which he also enjoyed. He had leftovers and said they tasted just as good reheated. Please get their Pandan Toast! It is soaked in butter and their pandan syrup. The crust on the outside was probably crunchy, but after sopping up all the syrup, it had a good chew. The inside had a soft, pleasant cake texture. Noodles were initially too hard, but softened over time swimming in the broth. The broth was kind of a hit or miss. Ordered on a busy but cold Sunday afternoon, as a warm bowl of pho sounded good. Regarding the photo itself, I liked the taste and size of the meatballs as well as the $3 add-on I purchased for soft tendon. One thing I wasn't a fan of was regarding the service. Union market was really busy given that it was a weekend, and when I had ordered my pho, the lady helping me had said my order will be ready in five minutes. I completely understand that that's just a rough guess but when I saw the workers chit chatting with one another rather than fulfilling orders, it wasn't the greatest feeling from a customer standpoint. Once my order was fulfilled, I saw my name on my order and had tried to flag down one of the workers. Instead of handing it to me, they said something along the lines of "Oh we will call your order when it's ready," despite it being packaged up. This is one of my favorite go to Pho spots. They ALWAYS hit! The flavor in the broth is so amazingly rich but light at the same time. The staff is usually super nice and informative if you have any questions or concerns about ingredients or allergies regarding the menu! They always have an abundance of utensils and condiments easily available and accessible. It's located in the middle of the market across from Lucky Buns so it's no seating for them specifically like some of the other spaces but there is extra seating in the market for everyone, no matter where you've gotten food from. I do recommend a different carrying container for the broth for carryout. If it tips over in the car you're done for, it's not completely sealed. The chicken thigh roti tacos were amazing - I just wish they'd mix up the pickled carrots and radish more because some bites were just layered pickled veg. Union Market has made a great new addition. Phowheels have been in the game for over a decade and has finally started to expand. They have recently been on a crazy ox-tail kick creating creative items like Ox-tail roti tacos and Ox-tail pho. My personal favorite is the Ox-tail cheesesteak Banh Mi. That rich & fatty Ox-tail just goes so well with that French bread, cheese, and Pho dip.... pricy, but worth a try! The bahnmi's were yummy. I tried both the pork belly and chicken thighs... Pork belly bahn mi definitely wins. I will say though, I was disappointed at the size of the sandwiches. I arrived for a pickup order at 7:35 PM. The staff couldn't find the ticket. I politely offered to cancel the order to save them the trouble, assuming it was a system glitch. The staff member completely snapped. He took my polite suggestion as an insult and began yelling "It's my job!" while slamming kitchen tools around the stall. It was genuinely scary how he switched it on and off--he would scream at me, then turn around and calmly serve someone else, then turn back to being aggressive with me. I ended up waiting 15 minutes in a hostile environment just to get the food I paid for (Receipt attached, timestamp 7:52 PM). DoorDash has already issued a full refund due to the safety concerns here, but customers need to know: the staff behavior is unpredictable and aggressive. read more

It was prepared quickly. Less than 5 mins. It was fresh and flavorful with plenty of noodles and broth. I added a few jalapeños for a little extra spice but it tasted good without. Great food, sucky service. The good: food is always delicious! The bo khirria is always amazing and flavorful. you can't go wrong with anything in the menu. The bad: the union market location has such rude staff. firstly you're told to put your phone number in and they'll text you when your food is ready. We sat at a nearby table to reserve a place to eat and they never texted us. Meanwhile our food was sitting on their counter the whole time ready to go. Upon getting our food, we weren't provided with utensils or anything for it. They have a set up right in front of where you order with utensils and napkins laid out. So since we were not provided any, we thought we had to take some from there. The staff immediately started yelling at us for doing so. Also don't call your customers "bro". I'm not your bro. I'm a paying customer. So maybe provide everything we need with our food or have a sign that says to ask for provisions. read more
