The birria tacos are not the best in the city. Maybe at a different location but these were just "good". The meat didn't really have any flavor but the tortillas were DELICIOUS! My blue lemonade was ok. Melissa at this location was very sweet and did great to make sure we were good though! This location is also VERY small so people will be waiting for you to get up and leave if it's crowded lol. So nicely decorated though!
Great food. Ordered the birria grilled cheese with shrimp. Came out good. Service was great. Food came out quickly. Clean environment. I like this place.
Had a group of us go in and it was limited on space and seatings, but we were lucky enough to find 5 spots at a shared table that sat approximately 10 people. The atmosphere is fun and vibrant with colors and music. Since I am from a different region of the country, I found the flavors of this place to be more sweet than I would like down to some tacos and even the hot sauces. Overall, the food was presented well, looked appealing, but it had an overall flavor that I wasn't crazy about. I know there are plenty of different kinds of queso out there, but this one just didn't do it for me. I will say that they have some bomb churros which were cooked to perfection. Everything else was either a little sweet or really on the mild side. I tried the jalapeño hot sauce, cayenne hot sauce, and habanero hot sauce. I honestly could not tell a difference in heat level. Attached are some pictures. The food was good, just not my style.

Went for Cinco de Mayo, when we first arrived it wasn't too busy, but a line quickly started forming. We waited about 10 minutes to order, then nearly 50 minutes for our food with nowhere to sit. We even got a text saying it was ready just 10 minutes after ordering, but when we went back in, it wasn't actually ready. It was extremely crowded, and we couldn't find seating, so we ended up having to take the food to go. By the time we ate, it was a bit cold. The biscoff churros were great, the bang bang shrimp tacos were delicious! The birria rice bowl was good but I think it would've been better fresh, it was a little soggy by the time we ate it. However, the employees were clearly overwhelmed but still remained sweet and helpful throughout.
What an interesting experience... Our first time visiting here was for Cinco de Mayo ! We heard that the food was good so we were excited to try. When we arrived, the line was so long we weren't sure if we would be able to stay. Long story short we were able to sit. Service was rather slow, but we were waiting patiently because it was so crowded and the servers were super kind. I think the attentiveness and kindness of the employees made the experience much better. The food.. was just okay. The tortillas were tough, the street corn was rather bland, and the horchata had a super sweet milky taste. However, the guac was phenomenal. All in all, kind of underwhelming, but I wonder if that was just due to the busyness of the holiday. I can't say that I will be back.
I was so excited to come try the Birria Mac n cheese. As a reviewer I would say Mac n cheese is my speciality! I love it! But unfortunately this Mac n cheese was not it at all. I would not order it again. The birria was good, the takis were a little Over powering so I'm glad they added a small amount. But the noodles and cheese itself. Just not good the most bland thing I've had. Like seriously I think Kraft Mac n cheese would have had more flavor. It was also super watery... and I usually love my mac n cheese creamy but this wasn't creamy. I'm not sure the cheese they used but it was not it.... I also asked for a side of hot sauce on the Kiosk and it was not brought to me. So I can't rate how that was. The horchata was good though. But there weren't that many people and the churros took forever to come out. They were the best thing I had there though lol. I left hungry... time to try the next spot in DC. Final thoughts: I think all food should come out at once... With so many spots to try in this spot I'll skip it for a retry. Even the birria was okay but not best birria I've ever had... not even top 10... maybe an off day? The vibe inside was beautiful though! I dig the video showing the process of making the food.

When you walk in they have two screens where you can order your food. Once you order you grab a number and find a seat and they'll let you know when your food is ready. Now the main event - the tacos. They are really good! Very flavorful with good portions. They have plenty of options to choose from and I will definitely be back for more.

An employee came over to hand menus to those of us waiting. When I asked about the broken machine, he did something to get it back up and running. I placed my order on the kiosk after the delay and got a text on my phone telling me my order would be ready in 15 minutes. My order was ready right on time! I ordered a blue lemonade and three tacos: 1. Bang Bang Shrimp: Breaded shrimp with pickled onions in a crispy corn taco. Delicious! 2. Caribbean Carne: A generous serving of beef and plantain. Yum! 3. Southwest Chicken: Chicken, corn, beans, and romaine lettuce. Nice combo, but the chicken was salty! The place was nearly empty when I arrived and gradually filled up. I appreciated the complimentary refill on my lemonade. Tip: Order online to avoid the wait at the kiosk!
Nice vibe, tasty tacos, service with a smile! What more could you ask for? I recently ordered a trio consisting of one mahi mahi fish taco, one bang bang shrimp taco, and one chicken achiote taco. All were delicious and satisfying! I'm a fan and will return on my next trip to DC.
I was finally able to come here in the weekend and enjoy some good halal Mexican food. They have many options but we stuck with birria tacos, birria Ramen, stacked wrap and chicken nachos for meals and Oreo churro for dessert along couple of Jarrito for the drinks. These were some generous portions and they could be shared with others. The flavor of every item was delicious. The service was beyond good and they were genuine and friendly from start to finish. The Oreo churro was so damn good, I ate it on a full stomach and could have another order top of that.

Talkin' Tacos came across my social media timeline and there was one taco on their page that stood out to me the most which was the Caribbean Carne Taco. I was curious to taste a taco with steak and sweet plantain drizzled over avocado sauce on a corn tortilla. I got ahold of my Taco Tuesday friend and we took the trip to DC to try it. We circled the block for parking on this Saturday day trip but ended up in the garage right next to the building. It was $11 to park and they don't validate. Walking in, you see 2 ipad kiosks and put in your order. My friend and I wanted to customize so the friendly manager Jimmy assisted us. We went a little crazy trying a few items I'll highlight later. Once you pay, find a table quick because it fills up fast and then they bring the food to you. Heads up to margarita lovers- there is no alcohol. My friend was a little sad about it but the food and the friendly service made up for it. We ordered our own custom trio of tacos, guacamole and chips, street corn in a cup, fries and 2 strawberry lemonades. Everything was flavorful 10/10 and service by Jimmy, Alejandro and Sam were 10/10. They checked on every table all the time, no 1 had to get up for anything. I'm already anticipating my next trip because the Caribbean carne tacos were unforgettable! My friend loved hers as well and the chicken achiote taco that was recommended by Jimmy. Love this family-friendly and late night taco spot. Please open a Maryland location soon but in the mean time, we'll be back to DuPont's Talkin Taco :D
The vibes are immaculate. The food is delicious.. every single time and the customer service is always top tier!! Fast casual place with great music and even better food. The tacos are a must, I love the chicken adobo. Rice and beans are soo good! If you like sweets you must try the Oreo tres leches.

Came here with my brother for dinner - we both have never been. We ordered the chicken tomato basil ramen and Birria Mac and cheese, and a mangonada to try. Something special about their mangonada has lemonade added to it and much more tajin than chamoy. The ramen was eh - a 5/10. This is for those that really like tomatoes or want soup. It was too much for me after a couple of bites. One thing to note is that if you hate onions, let them know! Or else they will throw a heap of them on the bowl. Outside of the meal, I really enjoyed it and I would return to try another food option! read more
Happy I could stop by I got the birria burito and the beef and all other items were well seasoned and tasted great. The beef was tender and flavorful. The other fillings had good seasoning as well. One thing Id improve is giving some coseme along with the burrito. read more

So this spot is definitely a vibe. If you're looking for some real fancy or authentic mexican food this is not it - also if you're looking for just another Dos Toros or Chipotle this is not it. This has a Florida feeling mexican late night spot vibe to it - I can't believe people eat here during the day. The spot is great if you're trippin or drunk. Really the staff is excellent and the ordering process on kiosks is quite fun. Everything tastes good - it's clearly not a health food restaurant, or trying to be authentic. The food is sorta trashy, Florida Mexican style. I'm from Southern California and so this isn't what we ate when I was a kid, but lol, a queso and a birria burrito - yeah why not. The whole restaurant is halal, and the staff is just truly so friendly. Talkin Tacos did NOT disappoint me at all! The food was absolutely amazing, and the fact that they're open late makes it even better! I ordered the birria quesadilla and when I say it was huge, I mean HUGE. Not only was the portion generous, but it was packed with flavor in every bite. Perfectly seasoned, cheesy, and just all-around satisfying. Definitely hit the spot! We also got the guacamole with tortilla chips and you can definitely taste how fresh it is -- super flavorful and a great starter. My husband ordered the steak rice bowl and thoroughly enjoyed it. He didn't leave a single bite behind! The place itself is small, but it's absolutely worth the try. Great food, great flavors, and we'll definitely be back! read more
My wife picked up a steak quesabirria for me. She took all the chips though I have to say the chip crumbs were pretty good! The steak itself was juicy. The tortilla was good and the cheese and onions were awesome complements. Every bite was filled with flavor. The total was $17ish post tax. The price for the portion and taste is excellent! This place came highly recommended and so I had to try it for myself! One thing to note immediately is that the meat is halal (huge pull factor for one of my friends). We came in on a Thursday evening and it was packed. The place was a decent size, but every single table was taken; we got lucky that one family left as we were looking for seating - the staff cleaned up the table pretty quickly. When you come in, you place an order at the kiosk or at the counter. From there, you are provided a number and sit at an open table, where your food and drinks will then be brought out to you. I don't think we waited more than 10-15 minutes for everything to come out. I came in a group of 3, and we each ordered 3-4 tacos, drinks and some sides to share. They had a great selection of tacos (and other items), but I decided to go the basic route by ordering carne asada. Nonetheless, my tacos were good! I also tried my friends' tacos - they got some unique ones which I'm forgetting the names of. The chips and dips were good, as well as the street corn! I really enjoyed the food here, and the drinks were also good, I loved their lemonade options. Being in DC, you already know the parking situation.. there's available street parking everywhere and garages within a short walking distance in all directions. read more

It's a small spot and the door was constantly opening and closing, so it was very cold inside. I ordered a chicken rice bowl and added shrimp. I did not know the shrimp would be fried though. I would have kept them off. Although the taste of the bowl wasn't bad, it wasn't flavorful. I did not finish it, but my husband enjoyed it. I ordered a new meal from the kids menu. Two chicken tacos. However, I didn't get it. We brought it to the attention of staff and they attempted to rectify the situation. They gave me an order of tacos that I don't eat. I believe he said they were southwest tacos. Had I known they would give me a completely different order, I would have said no thanks. I really just wanted what I ordered. I got the tacos they provided to go. Hopefully my daughter will enjoy them. If I were to return, it would definitely be in the warmer months. read more
Literallllllly. So. Freaking. Good. I had the 3 taco plate that allowed me to choose which 3 I wanted. I got birria, carne asada, and their Caribbean taco. All 3 were good. But the birria & consomé was my favorite. My sister and I completely finished both of ours, down to the last drop. Fantastic service as well. The place was clean and cool. My husband and I loveddd this spot!! We randomly stopped in after a show at DC improv and are so happy we did. We particularly enjoyed the horchata! The service was great! My bean burrito was $16, so quite pricey for the portion. It was neatly cut diagonally in two pieces, tasted very fresh and flavorful, and was halal, so no pork or lard! The chips on the side didn't come with salsa so I asked for a small cup of pico de gallo. They do have the biggest variety of Jarritos these eyed have ever seen: tamarindo, cola, guava, mandarin, lime, watermelon, and many more! The hot sauces (jalapeño, habanero, and a third one) were all mild and bland. Ambiance is nice: loud, bright colors, TV on loop with a video of different food items being prepped. I tried Talkin' Tacos for lunch and got the Birria Taco Salad. It was really good and super filling! I loved it came in a big tortilla bowl and it wasn't too soggy and soft. Only think I'd change is the corn... I wish it had a little more seasoning. The place itself is really cute and I loved the lighting and decor. Plus it's super convenient since it's right by my office. I am definitely coming back to try the Birria Ramen next time. Yummm! read more

After an incredible drag show at DC Improv, my girlfriend and I were craving a quick bite and stumbled upon Talkin' Tacos -- and what a great find! The moment we walked in, I was impressed by how bright, fresh, and beautifully designed the space was. The setup is super convenient too -- two self-order kiosks right at the entrance let you easily place your order for dine-in or takeout, complete with pictures of every item so you know exactly what you're getting. The entire experience was fantastic -- from the friendly service to the modern vibe -- and the food did not disappoint. Super friendly and helpful staff! The place was super clean and had a good vibe. The food was so good -- I especially loved the street corn and the birria ramen. Definitely the standouts for me! The carne asada tacos were tasty too, but the corn tortillas were a bit too wet for my liking -- I prefer them a little drier. Still, the flavor was on point. Also tried the tortilla chips and pico de gallo -- fresh and yummy. Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu. That birria ramen and street corn are 100% must-haves. read more

If you're grabbing lunch at Talkin' Tacos, do yourself a favor and hope Melissa is working! Melissa made the entire experience incredible from the moment we walked in. She was welcoming, attentive, and brought such great energy to the space. It's rare to come across someone who genuinely cares about making sure every customer has a great experience, but Melissa absolutely does. She was patient with questions, offered great recommendations, and made sure everything came out perfectly. On top of the amazing food, her service truly made our lunch stand out. Friendly, professional, and just an all-around joy to interact with. Talkin' Tacos is lucky to have her! If you stop by for lunch, look for Melissa--you won't regret it! read more
I ordered the elote corn, California burrito, and chips with guac, about $40 total. The elote was hands-down the highlight: generous portion, flavorful, and worth trying. The chips and guac were pretty standard and nothing I'd reorder. The California burrito was big enough for leftovers, but the flavor didn't wow me enough to want another or make a return trip for it. That said, the customer service was excellent, everyone was genuinely friendly and welcoming. The space is small, uniquely decorated, and has a cool setup: order from a kiosk, then they bring the food to your table. Overall, it was fine, but not a spot I'd crave or choose over other taco joints. Still, I'd say it's worth trying at least once for the service alone. read more
Great spot for grabbing late-night (or near late-night) Tex-mex bites. I stopped by Talking Tacos to grab some tacos and one last drink for the road (or rather for the metro). Ordering is kiosk-based so that makes life a bit simple. For my order, I went with the Bang Bang Shrimp tacos, a regular order of churros, and an order of Oreo churros. Note, I was bring the churros home for the family. ;) I wanted to "supplement"my tacos with a margarita, but the restaurant does not serve alcohol. That was not really a deal-breaker for me since I was arriving from another bar. Service was pretty fast because I received my tacos in about 10-15 minutes. To some that might seem like a long time for tacos, but the restaurant was pretty full during my visit. Overall, I thought my tacos were very delicious, and they were packed pretty heavy with "bang bang" shrimp. Customer service was on point. Compared to other taco spots (more of the in-and-out type of places), I thought the prices were pretty fair. At first, I was a bit shocked by the prices of the churros (around 8 bucks). However, my attitude changed for the better when I saw that the churros were long (about 6 inches), and 5-7 churros were provided. Note if you order the churros to go or order them through delivery, I highly recommend reheating them preferable with an air fryer or in the oven at home. When we tried the churros cold, they were "meh". However, they were 100% tastier and richer after throwing them in the air fryer for a couple of minutes. All and all, I would gladly visit Talking Tacos again to try some more of the the restaurant's menu items. read more

Was super hungry and was looking for a quick bite to grab before heading to the Umbrella Art Fair and I'm so glad my fiancé and I did! So so good and flavorful, def worth a try! read more
