I think Dr phung is the best obgyn I can't believe some of these negative reviews as that was no where near my experience. I delivered in April 2025 and I had a lot of complications throughout my pregnancy because of gallbladder/liver issues. He always made me feel safe and comfortable. Some people complain of wait times due to walk ins but if you were pregnant with a complication wouldn't you be happy your obgyn cares enough to squeeze you in? He has never made me feel rushed or unheard. When my husband would come along he would also answer his questions. Dr phung advocated for me with the hospital and other doctors because of my gallbladder issues he would call labor & delivery and they would be ready to treat me throughout my pregnancy. He even consulted with a surgeon and other specialists to give me their opinions. He even visited me before he would go back to the office or end his day while I had hospital stays. He is very caring and compassionate in what he does. I think some people just take that wrong or they're looking for overly fake/nice bedside manner. I have never felt that his motive was insurance pay. He is the best and extremely experienced! He also did my sons circumcision and it went smoothly with no complications I'm just now leaving this review because I was looking up his number to make an apt & couldn't believe some of the recent reviews. read more

My employer switched plans so I needed a new OBGYN. I was a little worried from the mixed reviews, but so far, the office staff picked up my call quickly, booked me for an appt within a week, and were courteous and efficient when I arrived for my appointment (I was in a room and seen by the doctor and nurse before finishing my new patient paperwork). Dr. Duong was kind and also very quick, to the point, and covered all the bases I expected. Office and nursing staff was excellent, doctor was not. I was a patient for Dr. Phung for the last trimester of my pregnancy. Had to switch to him after cancelling PPO insurance. Office visits went smoothly, and staff was speedy. During one of my appointments around 39 weeks, Dr. Phung checked for dilation. At this time, me performed a membrane sweep without my prior knowledge or consent. If he had asked, I would have declined the sweep. This was very upsetting for me as I wanted my baby to come in his own time. I felt violated. The doctor made the choice for me which was not right. I was not overdue, therefore there was no need to try to speed my baby along. The membrane sweep caused bleeding, and I went into labor the next day. I was also unsatisfied during the delivery. The hospital nurse got me through the entire laboring process. The doctor literally walked in right before the last push. The doctor was very cold and did not greet me or the baby in any way. Very robotic with no empathy, definite red flag. Every baby deserves a warm welcome, my baby did not get one. Post partum was another nightmare with Dr. Phung. I had second degree tears in BOTH directions which caused complications and pain. I also had prolapse that he confirmed/ inspected himself. Once my first 6 weeks of disability was up, I informed Dr. Phung of my lingering complications, prolapse, and pain. Dr. Phung did not care and would not extend my disability whatsoever. He was sending me back to work despite my numerous remaining complications. I got in contact with my Primary instead as a last resort and he immediately extended my disability by approximately three more months and literally apologized for the subpar care of Dr. Phung. My Primary shared that they had heard similar stories from other patients regarding this doctor and that they does not refer patients to Dr. Phung as they know numerous other doctors with better bedside manner and care for their patients. My doctor referred me to a urogyn who again confirmed prolapse and issues, I was then referred to physical therapy. Dr. Phung should have handled these referrals from the get-go. Instead, he was ready to ship my back to my very physical job. I would not use Dr. Phung again for any subsequent pregnancies, and would not recommend him to loved ones ever. I would have switched doctors before delivery if I had known in advance how he practiced. read more

If I could give this office zero stars, I would. I was referred here by my primary care doctor for an OB/GYN that specializes in endometriosis. After waiting about a month for this appointment, I get here for my 1030 appointment and the lobby is absolutely packed. I talked to a few ladies in the lobby who had been waiting over an hour past their appointment time, and we're still waiting in the lobby. I checked in with the receptionist at 10:50 to ask what the wait would be and she said there were nine people ahead of me. I had an appointment are you kidding me?! There is also an extra charge if you use a card payment as opposed to cash, which is crazy to me for a doctors office. I will absolutely not be back. read more

I ended up switching to him when I was six months pregnant and he took care of me and made me feel like I was an actual Patient and not just another check like the previous OBGYN. He was very thorough through at all my appointments. Switching to him was probably my best decision I've ever made. He took great care of me all the way up until my delivery. My delivery went so smooth and he made me feel very comfortable. After my first experience with my first daughter I wasn't going go with the male Doctor ever again, but I am glad that I made the choice and switched to him. if I decide to have another child in the future will be going back to him. read more

Switching offices. It's ridiculous. I have to go back-and-forth with my insurance and the dr office because the dr office can't tell them that my situation is urgent to confirm my appointment, so I got denied a ride . I almost fainted yesterday at the gym and my ovary has been throbbing in pain. So I could not get a ride to the doctors office. I'm just so fed up with not being able to fully understand what's going on with my ovaries. Last time I was in the hospital they told me that both of my cysts came back and then the obgyn doctor told me that I didn't have them without even checking. Almost fainting yesterday confirms that they are indeed back and I need better care so I'm switching offices. It's ridiculous having to argue with someone just to have proper care. read more

I saw Dr Phung through 2 of my miscarriages and my one successful pregnancy. I was on bed rest the 3rd time throughout my first trimester. He is very nice, answers you with care and concern. I had a c section and my scar is so small I appreciate that so much. My sons father really liked him also. PSA. I'm just grandma. My daughter was pregnant with my first grandchild. She had two HORRIBLE experiences with prior OB/GYNs. Finding Phung Duong, MD, was a godsend!! Of course I went with her because I felt she needed me for support (and because I'm just as excited about baby) our first experience with the office staff was so pleasant. The front office staff were all super nice and welcoming. The back office staff was just as friendly, and I do not mean fake friendly. They all seemed so genuinely nice and caring. Now onto the Dr himself, what a gem!!! He was the nicest man. He took the time to explain everything to my daughter and made sure she was comfortable. He allowed her to ask questions and never once made us feel rushed. Which of you've ever been rushed through an appointment, you know how rare this is. Hands down I would and have referred many to this office. Being able to trust someone during what should be the happiest day, is important when picking a dr. Due to COVID, we weren't allowed to be at the hospital but I my daughter was in great hands. My grandson was born 6/6 and healthy baby. I have gone to Dr. Phung for all four of my pregnancies and all gyn exams and hope to have him for the rest of my life. He seems to always be everywhere at once, never missing a beat in the hospital or in the clinic. After going home with my first child, I had a bad panic attack that lasted all night. I called the office in the morning and the doctor got back to me right away. I could hear that he was walking fast so I assumed he got back to me as he was already very busy. He talked me through what my symptoms were and provided me with reassurance that what I was experiencing was normal. Simply speaking to him caused my symptoms to improve and as I did what he instructed I got immediately better. I will forever be grateful for that prompt response from him. He did not brush me off and showed that patient care was important to him. At the office, the wait times have gotten better over the years. He has always been a great doctor that is in high demand. Despite his popularity, his wait times are good. I do not ever spend more than an hour in his office during my current pregnancy. Blanca seems to also have the same omnipresence that Dr. Phung does and therefore they work as a great team. Getting all needs met efficiently and effectively while managing a significant patient load. Thank you Dr. Phung and Blanca for taking care of me in such important times of my life. Dr. Phung is awesome! I've been coming to Dr. Phung for over 5years and even though no one really like to go to the gynecologist, Dr Phung and his staff make each visit as pleasant as can be. When I found out I was pregnant I went to a different doctor because I no longer lived in the area but after just two visit with the new doctor I knew I had to go back and make the drive to see Dr. Phung. So even with a 45min drive I am so happy I decided to switch back. During my pregnancy Dr. Phung helped answer any questions and concerns. The staff is extra friendly and it's so easy to make appointments. During my pregnancy I was breaking out in hives and had weird allergies which Dr. Phung made sure we looked into things. He helped me find out it was just hormones and even though there wasn't much we could do, he gave me suggestions on how to make the breakouts bearable. When it was time to give birth Dr. Phung really helped us with our little blessing. My son was born two weeks early when my water broke and he did not want to come out. I almost had to get a c-section since so many hours had passes but since it's not what I wanted Dr. Phung did his best and we were able to have my son naturally. My husband also enjoyed our visit to doctor Phuong because he would answer all of his question. My husband felt like he always left with so much helpful information. This really put his daddy nerves at ease. My older son also enjoyed his visit when he got to see his baby brother from the ultrasound. We love Dr. Phung and all the staff members. When you have to see them every month and even more than that during the last trimester of pregnancy these people really become apart of your lives! read more

I ended up changing doctors after my experience with him in 2017. He raised his voice and was super rude when I asked about risks and benefits of flu vaccine (I was curious, I'm not anti vax and ended up getting my flu shot). He yelled and left the room when I started crying and a nurse had to comfort me when I came out. I'm sure he's nice but it was a really bad experience so hopefully it was just a bad day for him. 2 stars because his staff was nice and before then he had been ok if not super warm. read more

I wish I could give him 0 stars. I'm not sure how people trust him with their children. He is the rudest doctor I have ever experienced. The staff is so unprofessional and sits in the front and gossips. The doctor only did half of my wellness exam but told my insurance he did the whole thing and in result got paid for it . Now, I can't get it done because my insurance thinks he already did it. When I talked to him about it he cut me off and changed the subject. He refused to do a procedure I needed because he said "my insurance wont pay him enough" although my insurance already sent the approval. My primary doctor sent me to him when a pregnancy test taken at the doctors came out positive. They were able to get me an appointment scheduled a week after my primary doctor visit. The day I went in everyone in the front desk were friendly I didn't even wait long as I was barely in the first page of filling out my paper work and they had called me. This is my second pregnancy and the did the usual questions, my LMC, if I have had a Pap smear, they took my blood pressure and next the put me in a ultrasound room and probably like 5 or 7 minutes later the doctor came in and said hi asked about how my last pregnancy went, how much did he weight, etc. And then finally the ultrasound, we were able to see the baby but I was too early to hear the heartbeat which is understandable. He then did a pap smear and after told me everything looked good and just to keep taking my prenatals and he'll see me in 4 weeks and if I had any questions. It was a normal first trimester appointment and I can't wait for my next one hopefully another ultrasound! Update: My second appointment was that same on wait time, really quickly I was inside. I then did have to pee in a cup and then to the ultrasound room again! Yay saw the baby since he had said the first time I wasn't really able to see it, and gave me the proper estimated due date. Then just asked how I felt and if I had any questions. After that I have an appointment in 4 weeks with him and I have to do blood work and an ultrasound for Down syndrome in a different office which is the usual pregnancy steps. read more

When I called to make an appointment. their customer service is really unprofessional and rude, she put me on hold two times in a 15 minutes conversation. I only got to talk to her less than 5min. It's been over 17 years since I first met Dr. Phung. He was there for all 3 of my kids, now ages 17, 13, and 9. He knows his stuff! He's thorough and catches all the details of the birthing process. He is thorough in his explanations if you ask. Yes, he's busy because he's so good and he's popular. Plus in-between appointments he's delivering. You can tell he has a system down for juggling appointments and delivering babies. For all 3 of my births he was so cool, calm and collective. So confident in what he does. I have 3 wonderful birthing stories because of him. I highly recommend him. Don't be turned off by the packed waiting room or maybe he seems rushed. What do you expect when you're juggling unexpected delivers throughout your day of patients. Amazingly, he knows his timing of everything. He was there on time for all 3 of my kids. Right at 8-9-10 cm. He kept in touch with my nurses to always check on me. If you ask him questions and really get to know him, you'll find out he's the awesomest doctor...so down to earth. Out of the doctors I've had throughout my life, he was my favorite. Unfortunately, I changed insurances so I couldn't continue with him. He's worth the wait in the waiting room. BTW--he does circumcisions for baby boys too. That was an experience to watch. But he was so gentle and gave us thorough explanation of the procedure. Seriously--you can trust him. Dr.duong been so patient to our first pregnancy, answered all weird questions we could come up with, arranged all check up for is and have tje team member pre-set appointment for us as well, periodically follow up via phone to ensure everything on track! Had my first appointment with him February 2021 to discuss surgery for an ovarian cyst. The girl in the front overcharged me for my copay which is barely getting resolved now. He gave me a pelvic exam and didn't even warn me about it. Shoved his whole hand up my cooch so fast and it hurt. Rushed through appointments. Fast forward to March 2021, approaching my surgery day I found out I was pregnant with intent to have an abortion. Talked to the receptionist over the phone to schedule an appointment to discuss my options for the surgery. I asked her why it was a problem to have the surgery with my intention of having an abortion afterwards and she says "because it has a heartbeat!". That comment was uncalled for and btfw if that receptionist is reading this just know that idgaf if it had a heartbeat because I already had my mind set and no one cares about your opinion especially since you're not even a nurse. I believe her name started with an "M". Fast forward to July (i didn't have my surgery) and as soon as the doctor sees me he asked "are you pregnant again?" As a joke and laughed and after seeing the look on my face he stopped. After knowing I made a difficult decision to have an abortion, that "joke" was uncalled for. I only saw this doctor three times and every time I went in I hated it, it was the worst experiences ever and I'm glad I won't be seeing them again. read more
