I got PT with Dave for 6 months and that's what kept me going for short walks, before I finally decided to go for minimally invasive laminectomy and facetectomy surgery by Dr Saqib Hasan in Nov last year and with God's blessings and Dr Hasan's expertise my pain was completely gone and was walking around the same day. Dave provided excellent pre-op therapy and has guided my post-op recovery with with great care. He is patient, highly knowledgeable, and always ensures I am moving safely to protect my spine. However, most of them must pass their care to trainees or "techs" so that they can supervise the operation. The screwed up helath insurance payment system dictates this for these businesses to be viable. I am a retired doctor and know this firsthand. What separates "Dr. Bob" is that he works one-on-one with you during your sessions. And he doesn't waste time having you do your "homework" exercises for him each time. He trusts that you're regularly doing your part. He does test you to confirm that, but the commitment is implied and it's based on mutual respect. Also, he didn't myopically focus on my shoulder as he insisted we work on strengthening the kinetic chain to improve mechanics and lessen the load on my shoulder. Dr. Bob's PT helped me heal my third rotator cuff injury, avoid another surgery, and I returned to the tennis court, surprisingly with a better serve. The shoulder is strong and stable, which shows up in many other parts of my game, bringing the joy of competitive high-level tennis back into my life. The doctor described the tendons as "shredded." This was not exactly the adjective I was hoping for, and surgery was required. The surgery was uneventful, and took place right across the street at Hacienda Surgery Center. On my next visit to the doctor he provided color photos of my surgery. It's sort of like doing selfies, except you're unconscious. Several weeks later, I was in the capable hands of the onsite physical therapist, Mark Snyder, assisted by his capable assistant. Karen. These folks are excellent-- professional, as well as friendly. I sometimes call Mark, "Mr.Pain." It was originally, "Dr. Pain," but he reminded me he was not yet a doctor. I don't know why I came up with that nickname for Mark. During physical therapy, whilst icing my shoulder, the PT team allows me to watch the TV show, "Sherri." This is part of Mark's therapy, and provided at no extra charge. I am always pleased with the proficiency professionalism and courtesy of the great staff here. A top tier medical practice happens neither easily or quickly. Doctor Bell is a very capable surgeon. I would not go anywhere else. No one answered the phone. No one returned my calls. No one responded to my emails. When they finally decided to respond to my vm the day before my "appointment", they admitted they had missed my confirmation email. Instead of making things right, their solution was for me to drive another 15 minutes to their Livermore office because of their mistake. I'm dealing with severe sciatica and have been in excruciating pain. I waited over a week expecting to start treatment, only to find out the appointment never existed because their office failed to do something as basic as read an email. Their communication, organization, and customer service are shockingly poor. Save yourself the frustration and find a physical therapy office that actually values its patients' time.

What makes this entirely unacceptable is that we are existing patients. The clinic already has all of my husband's insurance information on file. Despite having our records right in front of them, the staff failed to check them. Upon arrival, we were told he never should have been scheduled because this specific location doesn't take his insurance, nor do they even help with acquiring DME. Because of their lack of due diligence, we wasted three hours of our day and were left dealing with massive, unnecessary stress. To make matters worse, after making me wait 30 minutes to speak with a manager, the manager completely lacked empathy. I was in tears and pacing, shredding a piece of tissue just to keep myself from having a complete meltdown from the stress they caused. Instead of focusing on solving our actual dilemma, the manager approached me to scold me about the tissue paper. While they offered a hollow verbal apology, they made absolutely no offer to compensate us for our lost time, travel expenses, or severe distress. The absolute least management could do is exercise basic human tolerance and compassion when their own office's incompetence pushes a patient's family to their breaking point.
