I have been a patient of Dr. Bear for almost 8 years and he is the best PCP I have ever had, he pays attention to me during our visits and he always asks how I am tolerating treatment and medications There was a time during our visit when I presented with a full body rash and he walked down to the Endocrinologist and I was able to be treated the same hour. Physician care has been good. Office staff and nurse communication is TERRIBLE. I cannot get the right medicine for my mother. She is literally taking the wrong medicine because they cannot be bothered to understand and fill the correct prescription from the specialist. Everytime I contact them it is an ordeal. You cannot get a live person and when you do, they say they will take a message so you end up playing phone tag. I loathe this office. Physicians East Oncology department is a disgrace. Scheduling desk is were my complaint lies . The nurses in the kemo bay are great but the ones up front doing the scheduling. Telling cancer patients when to come back and when they come back have no idea where the appointment is. The Time it takes someone who has cancer to get themselves together to go to an appointment and then sit there for hours because the person behind the desk has lost the appointment and now they have to work them in. When I was seeing Dr. Roger McMurray I could tell he genuinely cared about me and my health. When he died I lost a friend. I now see Dr. Brooke Collin Bear and he doesn't seem to care. He prescribed a medication for me that the AMA says to NEVER give to someone taking Warfarin. It could have killed me; and when I asked to change back to what I was taking he gave me a lot of flack... but finally changed it back. Very disappointing. read more

I moved to Greenville 14 years ago. When looking for a physician, I was warned that Physicians East was not the place to go. However, circumstances changed and I eventually ended up here. Every appointment has been met with delays. I try to schedule my appointments around my work schedule and always arrive early but am never called in until at least 10 to 15 minutes later than appointed time (sometimes even much later). Today, I arrived for my appointment early but remembered that my physician had moved to another location. I have not seen him in a year. When I arrived at the new location, I was late and was told I was outside the grace period (by 2 minutes) and would have to reschedule. I chose not to do so and am now searching for a new primary care physician. The quality of the primary care has been less than optimal and I do not regret leaving. read more

Having previously received treatment at Columbia Pres, George Washington, and Northwestern, my goal was to find compassionate, Board-certified practitioners. And I have done so. I get infusions every month and the staff in the infusion room are excellent also. For acute illnesses, I have been seen a number of times at Urgent Care and have high praise for those practitioners also. All in all, I feel that I am in good hands medically. read more

We went into discuss this with him and everything that she brought up, he called her a liar while pointing his finger in my mother's face. This place is an absolute joke. If get prescribed medication and have adverse reaction expect them to take up to 48 to prescribe you different meds. So basically you suffer and wait up to 4 hours to see a doctor and then when the medication makes you feel worst expect to wait another 48 hours to get it corrected. read more

I was on Lantus diabetic medicine . I was switched too trulicity and told after 1 month to come in and take an A1C test. My blood sugar was high. The nurse asked me if I was still taking the Lantus. The OB/GYN office has yet to give me a referral to get my annual mammography. There is a strong family history of breast cancer and I currently have a cyst in my left breast; its now been 2 months since I was promised an appointment with the mammographer.Nothing.. Ive called the office 3 times and get the total runaround. The GP saw my husband FEBRUARY. Its now July and he is FINALLY getting a prescription for the blood pressure meds he ordered in OCTOBER.. This place is a mixed bag, but when it's bad it is BAD. Leaving multiple messages for nurses with no call back, after-hours receptionist service employs a couple of real stinkers who are clearly trying to flex some kind of control but just end up being a detriment to the clinic, and phone lines that you'll wait for 15+ minutes on hold only to be told that "the system cannot handle your call at the moment, please call back.". Decisions are made without patient input and when patients attempt to advocate for themselves are treated like dog poo on the bottom of someone's shoe. If they'd like to improve their standing in the community, they should consider treating their patients as partners in health care outcomes rather than idiots that they should talk down to. There are some really good providers - docs, nurses, other professionals - but there are quite a few who really need to have some soft skills training before they're allowed to interact with patients again. read more

I googled infectious disease doctors and found Dr. Thomas Gallaher who is where my surgeon said he was going to refer me to. When I dial that number and started telling her my issue, she stated he was no longer with physician east and I would have to contact him at his new office. I said "for God sake please update that so people don't waste their time telling you their problem for you to tell them that he doesn't work here anymore" she hung up on me. I then called back and asked to speak to their manager Jeremiah to tell him he needs to update his people on Customer Service. A real doctor not a P.A. who thinks their a doctor. The front desk staff is unprofessional for the most part. Always gossiping and not answering the phones. And wanting to discuss your business all in the open. The main office across town- Where to begin ? all you do is WAIT. Wait for an appt. My wife has experienced many medical problems and has received the caring and medical services needed from several departments. . My visits have been mainly for checkups with an occasional situation I wanted checked. No complaints. Very seldom do I have to wait and when I have had to wait I received an apology and an explanation. I know I am not alone in my appreciation, People who write reviews seem to have a gripe.
