I recommend going online and setting up your appointment beforehand if you can. They do both walk-ins and appointments. I'm trying to have a small procedure done that requires surgical prowess but not the overhead of a full hospital. They can handle that here (I hope). This is my second go through with this, so I'm not as happy as I would be if it was settled the first time, but whatever. When is anything ever cured after just one time?? Lol, a joke, obviously.... I made an appointment with Physicians Immediate Care on Ireland on their website. They call me the next morning to move the appointment because the doctor on duty doesn't take my insurance (HIP). The one who does take it, comes in after I go to work. I've never heard of such a ridiculous policy. Either the office takes my insurance--or they don't. Not just at certain times. I'm deathly sick (thus urgent care!) and need to be treated. Now I have to suffer with lungs filled with fluid. I feel like I'm drowning. I called to explain all this but they hung up on me. The care was OK but don't let the name fool you. It may have "urgent care" in it's name but they may not bill insurance as an urgent care making it so insurance may not pay. DO NOT GO HERE FOR COVID TESTING! I went for just a COVID test. I had no symptoms, but found this place online after I was in contact with someone who had symptoms. At no point did they let me know I was there for an office visit or that I would be charged for one. I didn't ask for an office visit. Yet, during the midst of a pandemic, when people are short on funds, they are charging me the full, high, amount of an office visit since I have a high deductible insurance. I've read about these types of scams where they charge you for something you didn't ask for, but unfortunately not in time to avoid this scam. Mixed feelings. The staff was fairly friendly. I had a long wait, but I know in a place like this that's just what happens sometimes. I was expecting $90 like Urgent Care in Elkhart, but it was $125. That did cover my lab. My meds were $12 and I was able to buy them right there. That was nice. I had to do my urine sample in a restroom with no working sink because it's used for drug labs. I've never been to a doctor that did not provide a LIDDED container for the urine, but instead offered a flimsy plastic cup. So I had to set that cup on a counter outside the restroom and carefully make my way down the hall to the exam room where I could wash my hands. Nothing about this seems sanitary. The nurse was friendly, but she talked over my explanation of my symptoms explaining the severity. Maybe that's why on my paperwork she states I rated my symptoms at a "3" when, if she had asked, I probably would have rated them an 8. She also downgraded my "very frequent" to "frequent" for how often I experienced the symptoms. The doctor suggested that I try a local, more affordable clinic and said she would give me a list of them. On my paperwork it says that she did just that, but there's no list with the paperwork. So, I got what I needed, but on the whole I'm not particularly impressed. read more

Physicians Urgent care is unprofessional and not what you think behind the scenes . They allow so much rules and protocol to be broken by certain team members and no consequences. They have a Rebecca Cooper who is corporate but anytime she comes to a clinic that is short staffed and running behinds she does nothing. She walks around and talks on the phone. You would think she would be a team player and help. they have people that sleeps on job they have people that pick and choose which patients they want to do. I don't know if the clinical team is good or not. I called ahead of time to see if the clinic would see me and detailed an injury over the phone. I was still bleeding when I arrived. It was close to closing time and I was asked to go to another urgent care. I had great care at another local urgent care. But I didn't feel like this team tried their best to help me. read more

Horrible! They have a slick method of making appointments online - supposedly to avoid waiting in a long line when you arrive. I made an appointment for my daughter for 2:00 PM. But when we showed up at exactly 2:00, we were told we may have to wait for at least two hours! Brent, who was working at the front desk, was very rude, and made us both feel very uncomfortable too. I came here recently because I could not get an appointment with my GP (and the wait was 4-6 weeks) and I had a very painful and uncomfortable ear infection. The cleanliness, service and attentiveness of the staff here is really wonderful. I ended up coming for the first appointment and then another follow up appointment after to get everything checked to make sure I was healing okay and both times my appointment was exactly on time. There is a screen updated every few minutes to give an accurate time of when you can go in for your appt. The nurses and doctors here are all super friendly. Love it! read more

Went there at 9:45 a.m. Was told it would be 45 minutes. The sign said 5 people in exam rooms. An hour later I asked the receptionist why it had been so long and I had seen no one leaving. He shrugged. I said how many Physicians are back there and he said 1. I said honestly how much longer and he said an hour. I said I had been completely mislead and he looked at me with a look of guilt that he knew he had mislead me and had been told to do that. Her pediatric told me it was just a virus and to wait it out. Here at the urgent care they found she had an ear infection and also Joanne showed me how to get those boogers that are way up there. At the recommendation of my hometown doctor, I had to stop at an urgent care clinic to treat my poison ivy allergic reaction as I was traveling across country. I have never used an urgent care clinic before and used yelp to help find a decent one. The staff at this location were professional, courteous, helpful, friendly, and informed. The facilities were very clean. because it wasn't very busy at the early morning time I stopped in, my wait was not very long at all. The doctor even found online an extra coupon to be used towards the prescription. This facility gives urgent care clinics a good reputation. I am passed disgusted right now... I carry mail and I Sprained my ankle pretty bad so my job sent me here to get it looked at to make sure it wasn't broken and what not. They performed x-rays nothings broken so they basically told me to wear the foot brace and rotate Tylenol and Ibuprofen-which is fine but you send me back to work today with no restrictions and I'm still in a lot of pain and can barely walk and I deliver mail for a living by foot/walking!! When I questioned that they basically repeated the same thing about the over the counter medication, Ice etc.. so when returning to work my supervisors are like well they said no restrictions lol I am passed upset so here I am trying to somewhat heal before tomorrow because I have to deliver Amazon on Sundays which means I'll be hopping in and out the vehicle delivering parcels... I wouldn't recommend this place to my enemy I'm so pissed! read more

Experiences such as this one contribute to my avoiding medical professionals. The receptionist and nurse were very friendly and helpful, but the NP, Lisa Stults, treated me poorly. For instance, because I happen to carry a bag with me all the time since I always have a journal (one never knows when inspiration will come), iPad (iBooks is always a good idea), and don't like filling my pockets with things like an over-stuffed wallet, she asked if I'm homeless. Really? Because it's so very unusual to see someone carrying a messenger bag? She continued to treat me with thinly veiled hostility and distrust throughout the course of my "exam." I've been suffering from sleep issues for years, but I started a new job about a month ago and haven't been able to get enough sleep, so I'm having trouble focusing and can't seem to get anywhere with what I've already tried (OTC sleep aids, exercise, etc.), so I went to urgent care because I don't have a primary care provider and I fly out again on Monday for my 100% travel job and am pretty desperate. So, I go to this place for help, and, instead, I'm met with someone who doesn't believe anything I'm saying and talks down to me the entire time. I'm pretty confident she assumed I'm some drug addict looking for a way to score. Long story short, this was a horrible experience and a complete waste of my time. And, I'm still miserable and can't sleep through the night. read more

Being 800 miles away from my daughter who is a student at ND, I searched for an urgent care because she had not felt well most of the week and OTC meds were not helping and the campus clinic is closed on Sunday. I picked this place because the reviews were so positive but I will give this place NO STARS. Daughter was told that she has an upper respitory infection and sent home told to rest and plenty of fluids and if not better in 3 day to come back or see some one else. Thankfully she listened to her parents for once and went to the campus clinic this morning to be told that she has pneumonia so she is being admited to the campus clinic. I've been to this South Bend Urgent Care at least 3 times in the past year. I feel like I got extremely good care and attention every time. Because of the nature of their service, one may need to wait behind others as they cannot control how many people show up. I did have to wait a while a couple of the times, but, again, they are so thorough and helpful that it was so much worth it. It would take at least a week for me to get into my family doctor. My most successful wait time was that I got there at 7:30 AM and waited until they opened the door at 8 AM and I was the first one taken. I also made an appointment but the earliest I could make it for was 8:40 AM and I was already in and out by that time. Also, they had kept good records of my previous appointments and my family doctor has access to their online records. I have absolutely no complaints at all. They are experienced, friendly, courteous, concerned, thorough, and, at least in my case, they even explained to me why there was a bit of a wait during parts of the process. read more

I visited this center because it was the closest one when I was on a trip and injured my foot and wanted an xray because the pain was really severe and I was worried I might have a break in the midfoot as well as a broken toe. The wait time wasn't bad, so I had pretty high hopes. But then the physician spoke down to me - I have a Master's degree but they treated me like a 3-yr-old with comprehension issues - and didn't seem to understand about half of what I said. And this with my two school-aged children in the room with me - they even commented that the doctor seemed to not hear much of what I said. I never did get my questions answered, and it took WAY to long to get out of there, but at least they gave me a CD with my xray on it so I could see for myself where the break was (they didn't even offer to show me my own xrays in the office though.....) and figure out which activities would actually slow the healing and which would just hurt. Then they had the gumption to not only charge me $333 for the office visit (another recent review said theirs was $125 - do they just mark it up if you present insurance? I ended up paying $162.17 for that line item after insurance disallowed the rest of the $333 charge) and an additional $133 in xray fees (of which insurance only allowed $34.40, so you know they over-charged there too), but ANOTHER $98 for "surgery -bone/muscle" which means that they gave me a 10-inch piece of tape and told me to tape my toes together. Really? This is now surgery and is worth $98? Luckily insurance only allowed $36.15 of that, but it still seems excessive. And here's the kicker - they didn't even send me an itemized bill, but just a letter saying they were charging my card for the remaining total, so I had to wait until the insurance sent the EOB before I knew they had even charged for "surgery" for giving me tape! By then, insurance had taken their mark-down and didn't really want to mess with it since it's chunk change as far as they're concerned and it's out of my pocket anyhow. I called Physicians Urgent Care and asked about it, and they said it was a standard code and they couldn't do anything about it - but I've never seen a "surgery" code for supplies before and my family has used similar facilities for various injuries in the past. Yes, my insurance cut it down so I "only" have to pay about $233 out of pocket total for the visit, but I think it is criminal to charge $98 for a piece of tape and call it surgery when you bill the insurance! You should at least WARN the patient that the tape will be billed at $98 - I could have gone to the nearest pharmacy and bought a WHOLE ROLL of tape for a couple dollars! I will definitely NOT be using this chain ever again even though they recently built one near my home. read more
