The experience of purchasing (traded some guitar + cash) was excellent. The only issue I had was with the quality of the instrument. To Fender: Do better! After i couldn't deal with the persistent string buzz and the guitar constantly out of tune... I went back 5 days later with the intent of returning and/or exchanging. That experience was also awesome. Ethan helped me out and was very understanding. His first response was to offer to ship me a new in 2 days... I asked about in stock items and he indicated he had another one in the store, still in the factory carton. So i asked to check that one out... it was worse than the one i bought. I asked if i could have the store tech look at my purchased instrument. He introduced me... can't remember his name. He was rather dismissive regarding my issue but made some simple adjustments while i was there.. I took it home and it pretty much the same... I'm now at a point where i'm ready to chuck it all, still mulling it over but i wanted to give a shout out to CG for its much improved customer service.... Shout out to Ethan!

We got some help in narrowing down our options. But before making the purchase, we decided to book an appointment at the Music Exchange. We were met with Jeff and he was clearly very knowledgeable and educated us in the various options that were available and finally recommended one that fit our budget and hit all of our checkboxes. The entire interaction was very friendly and easy going without any pressure tactics to upsell anything. After the paperwork was all done, the delivery was set for a week later, and Chris called a day before the delivery, then showed up right on time on the day of the delivery. He assembled the piano carefully and took all the packaging materials with him. We were left with a beautiful sounding piano right where we wanted it. If you are looking to buy a piano, the Music Exchange is a 'must' stop.

I owned a 1,500 square foot musical instrument shop from 1998 to 2007. So I know equipment. I've visited Skip's several times over the past few decades. But my last visit was long enough ago that it was at the former Watt Ave location. This new store is visually impressive. Plenty of space which gives the room a majestic feel. It's dramatically lighted. The overhead music system is not obnoxiously loud. It's a fun place to browse. The inventory is all good quality. Every item is a real musical instrument, not a junky toy. No Amazon type crap here. The 5 staff members I interacted with were all friendly and helpful. I stopped in with my family to buy some Xmas gifts for the grandchildren and a few cables for myself. I pre-shopped the items on the Skip's website. The items were in stock. We bought a mini electric guitar for the 6 year old grand niece who actually knows already how to play some basic chords. We also got her a small amplifier, cables, guitar strap... Everything she will need to start her musical journey. Pricing is pretty standard MSRP. I know the price structure at wholesale and retail level and was not going to haggle for a discount out of respect. Profit margin after all the business expenses is meager. There's a high riser stage for in store events & concerts. There's also programs when students perform. Great experience for students to begin public performances (Where, hopefully, they get prepared for paychecks when they graduate to playing at bar gigs, weddings, birthdays and maybe even the big time (if they work really, really hard)). If you or you little virtuoso wants some gear I highly recommend that you shop here rather than at Guitar Center. Shop local, support a family owned business rather than a corporation.

I took my Gibson Les Paul in for a new bone nut replacement. Messaged him the next day requesting…read moreto go with his suggestion of going with TUSQ XL. He said no problem and we agreed on it. Two weeks later when expected to picked up he says he doesnt have the nut and still needs to order it. Sure, I wait another week. Picked up my guitar to see very poor workmanship. The nut slot heights are not only not cut to my specifications that I requested. G string was cut too way too low compared to rest. But also the new nut has gaps all over the place and does not sit full bearing within the slot. It's a combination of maybe not cleaning out any existing glue or not filing the seat level. He said I was giving him anxiety by my expectations of good workmanship. In response I said im going to call this work order a loss, im swallowing the loss of ~$170 and i'll take my business elsewhere. It is not right if he is accepting this nut as the best he has to offer as workmanship and not fixing what is to be expected. Photos attached.

I called them back later that day and the next day, the manager did not bother to get on the phone with me but was relaying messages to Megan on the phone. They assured me they would be calling me back. The next day. I received a text message letting me know it would be six more weeks and the manager would update me. I had yet to talk to a manager or receive an apology. I texted back that it was unacceptable since they already had it 6 weeks and they lost it. They said they would try to get it done as soon as possible. Two weeks later I was informed the manager would be picking up the instrument and would contact me. A week later Gabe contacted me and was very apologetic for the situation. This was the first apology that I had received. Gabe is the reason this review got one star. He went above and beyond to apologize, communicate and called me more than once. I did get the instrument back. However, when I went to go pick it up, Megan acted like she did not want to help me or recognize that I was in the store. I paid over $300 to have the instrument fixed and my daughter informed me not all the pads were replaced. Very disappointed in this music store and the customer service received. I will be using a different music store in the future

My daughter loves singing and has been bugging us to let her come to School of Rock. We finally…read morecame last night for a trial lesson and I'm really excited that we did. The inside has such a cool relaxed music studio vibe, I think I spent most of the time walking around and checking everything out from the different rooms to all of the awesome artwork on the walls. I even love their giant wall where all the kids sign and doodle on it! When we arrived, one of the owners welcomed us and gave us a tour. I love that they have glass doors so you can see other students practicing everything from drums, to bass, to singing! As much as you'd think all of the noise could be a bit much, I actually found it relaxing and liked hearing all the different instruments. My daughter's singing coach (Cale) was very patient and kind and she left even more excited to join than when we arrived. When we left, the receptionist gave us a flyer with the pricing and class options for my daughter's age - I thought it was a bit steep at first, but it includes 8 classes a month - 2 a week - 1 one on one session for 30 minutes and 1 group lesson for an hour and a half. Everyone there was so nice and you can tell the coaches/teachers love their job and what they can offer to these kids! The coaches offer everything from bass, guitar, drum, singing, and even keyboard/piano. They also offer summer camps, workshops and they even have the kids put on concerts! We will definitely be joining soon and I can't wait to see where School of Rock takes my daughter's confidence! Check them out!
