How this place doesn't get 5 stars is absolutely beyond me. For starters, we received a complimentary amaro spritz and wow...did NOT expect that surprise and delight, but it was a great start to the meal. We also had the oysters, caesar salad, and meatballs as starters. Let's be real - when someone says, NJ oysters, what would be your first impression? I was SHOCKED at how incredible they were - great for first timers and seasoned consumers alike. The meatballs were made just like my nonna made them - flavorful, hearty, and the sauce was so beautiful and vibrant. I only had a bite of the caesar, but my friend demolished it. For our meal, we had the Mortadella and the vodka pasta. I STG I will die on this hill and say this is some of the best pizza and handmade pasta in the city. Eating pasta my whole life, I've unfortunately grown to hate it, HOWEVER, I would gladly take 20 bowls of this. And the pizza - come on. The pizzeoli was probably kissed by an angel because the dough to topping ratio was spot on and, speaking of the dough, was literally cooked to perfection. If you guys give me the recipe, I will sign a NDA. Our cutie server pressured us into the ice cream with olive oil and fresh pizzelle, and it was the best peer pressure I've ever experienced. The last time I had a pizzelle that good was 20 years ago when my nonna was still alive. Also, the beverage program was amazing. Our bartender made us the DIRTIEST Father Martino and yeah, I would drink a vat of that parmesan-washed vodka if it didn't kill me. Vibes - immaculate. Staff - incredible. I want to gatekeep this place, but I would be doing it a disservice. Take your friends, family, neighbor, who cares...just GO. Also make a reservation if you can because it fills up QUICK. Families beware: This would easily be a 4-5 star review if based on the food alone, but I left feeling a little disappointed that I wasn't warned there aren't refills on the sodas. $4.50 is already a little pricy for a skinny glass of Coke, but that quickly added up to $40.50 after we let our (4) kids each order a second glass after their dinner. Fantastic! My college roommate made the reservation, she lives in Philly and had heard great reviews. The ceaser salad was fantastic. Perfectly seasoned and just the right portion. Pasta with vodka ON PONIT. Topped Delicious with stracesetta on the pasta. Amazing! The pizza with Mortedella was the best of all. Perfect combination of salty and savory. Nice ambiance, delicious food, attentive service. The scamorza was fantastic- a little smoky, a little kick, and a whole lot of cheesy goodness with fresh focaccia to sop it all up. I got the malfadine al limone- the pasta was cooked perfectly with just enough chew to it and the anchovy breadcrumbs made the dish. I didn't try the oxtail lasagna, but there was nothing left on the plate, so you know it was good. In fact, everything people around us were eating looked delicious. Entrees were served with more of the focaccia and some seeded bread. The baba au rum for dessert was a perfect end to the meal- the syrupy sweetness was not overwhelming and the cream on top freshened it up. Throughout the meal the server and manager checked on us and glasses were never empty. This spot definitely deserves a visit. read more

The service was great and wine rec from the manager fit our meal well. I didnt try any pizza but I saw a few come out of the kitchen and they looked very good. We had the most perfect meal! Everything we ate was delicious and we had a visit from the executive chef Cara who couldn't have been any more lovely. Definitely liked the food but a couple of thoughts about it. The meatballs were good but were hard and overcooked ( meatballs are definitely better when cooked in the sauce) that would have helped with them being softer. The bucatini amatriaciana was Smokey and good but appetizer size and the pizza was good. Definitely pricey for the sizes that you get and the wine is $18 a glass which is ridiculously high. Very pretty restaurant with a great ambiance that makes it a romantic setting. Staff were very nice and welcoming. They have a good selection of drinks including mocktails. Food was delicious from the complimentary bread (most likely fresh and homemade) to the appetizers, entrees and dessert. Must order the meatballs and chocolate cake! Dined at Piccolina tonight. Hard to believe they have only been open for a week, because the food and service were totally on point. Very welcoming staff. The Pullo Putanesca was tender and delicious. I had the Oxtail Lasagna, which was a real surprise - it was not a heavy, thick, cheesy dish. The pasta was thin and delicate, and the oxtail was tender and bathed in a rich brown gravy. read more
