The kids had an absolute blast, and seeing them so happy made me really glad we decided to give La La Land another chance. It's one way in and one way out of the car lot. This park is more concrete than "park", although it is connected to a large open grassy field. The majority of the trees and bushes (greenery) are in the parking lot between the car rows. In addition, the John Trudel Community Center building with various programs is located right next to the park. The park is mainly two basketball courts and four pickleball courts. And they are blue painted pavement -- not green. We observed some kids getting lessons on the pickleball court and one older guy shooting baskets on one of the basketball courts. It's still a nice convenience for the locals in Lighthouse Point as it is located amidst the houses in a residential section of the city. I am glad we found it. But it's not the place you'd wish to go out of your way to visit unless you lived nearby.

I know the guy is running a business, but soccer players shouldn't hustle each other. I would imagine that losing one soccer player is inconsequential to some. However, how do you know that the person you are letting out that door doesn't bring you more business? You gotta have something for me other than a sales pitch!!! The staff is extremely friendly. Oh, and very knowledgeable about their products! The WIFI has a poor signal (otherwise known as didn't work). This place has all the bells and whistles. For those not so much into active life and sports, you can still enjoy the park by using their grills, pavilion, picnic areas, picnic shelters. There is plenty of parking and nice clean restrooms. The track is made of a squishy like material which at first I felt like I was sinking into, but by the second day I got used to. There were plenty of people using the park but it did not seem over crowded, it looked like parking may be an issue if there was a game or too many visitors. it was a pleasant place to spend some time while my son was practicing!

The Wimberly Athletic Complex is a park in the industrial warehouse section of Oakland Park. It was…read morenamed in honor of Harry L. Wimberly, one of the most beloved and dedicated public servants to the City of Oakland Park. His grandparents moved to area in the 1920's where they made their living as vegetable farmers. Harry began his career in Oakland Park by mowing lawns for the City. For the next 40 years he worked in various positions where he led a team of City employees responsible for streets and building maintenance, parks and roads, solid waste, water, stormwater, wastewater, and garage operations. Harry was known as being willing to do any job needed. He became the City's Recreation Director when the parks and recreation departments were combined and retired as the Director of Public Works in 1996. Harry is perhaps most well known for for helping organize the City's first Youth Day celebration in 1957. Youth Day continues to live on with Broward County's longest-running parade and it is still held every year at the park. Today the City of Oakland Park's youth enjoys all that Harry Wimberly put into the city at the Wimberly Athletic Complex. Park amenities include a baseball/softball diamond, concession stand, football field, and hockey rink. Just south of Wimberly Park is the brand New City Park which opened in 2022 and has lighted basketball court, pickleball courts, a woodland themed playground with shade cover, splash pad, and restrooms. Harry Wimberly loved the children of Oakland Park and he was devoted to making it the best city it could be. It is fitting that such an important gathering place and recreational resource in the community carries his name.

She happened to be in town on business & wanted to have Kermit give support through this time for the Parkland shootings. This is a wonderful spacious area that showed tribute to the recent deaths from the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. There were several therapy dogs on hand lending support in the memorial & just to be present for the families & victims. I was glad that I was there to assist Melissa & Kermit. This park is amazing, clean, & wonderfully taken care of. The volunteers as well as the staff was present & had water on hand to help & give assistance. They are there for the community & for the people. I just want someone to be aware that this exists for others if they wish to pay respects for the current events & thank the community for such love & support to the families & victims. My heart goes out to the community & thank you again for having a place of solace & support during such a tragic event.

They even have an extensive program for Seniors. There are a couple of classes offered for people with Parkinson's Disease which are sponsored and paid for by the organization.
