EDIT: I have to respond. Matin lies in his response. There were 9 codes. My "big machine" was…read morea freaking code scanner. Fault codes on the AC, battery, passenger occupancy sensor, restraint (either airbag or seat belt) just to start. I can post photos from the scanner if that helps. I work on cars as a hobby and am a collector. Your guy said you guys didn't even own a scanner. I find that hard to believe. It did have warning lights on. I'm sure those have been cleared so they aren't on for the next test drive. We left because we had so many red flags going off, I needed to talk with my bank and ended up calling and talking with someone who deals with used car dealers a lot and they told us to walk away. I didn't expect a perfect car, by any means, but when you say it has only one current problem and it has a list, including MAJOR ones those aren't "quirks". Your add doesn't mention them still. You keep your facebook marketplace profile all positives because you block those that aren't happy before they leave a review. That tells it all. Yes we left, because we were uncomfortable.... That's on you. Yes we started paperwork, so what! Your conversations there while we were starting it were so unprofessional with your business partner we just decided to go somewhere else. Not sure of what "harsh jokes", we didn't make any jokes. We did a REVIEW and shared why we won't be back. After you begged me to come back (another $200 off) and blocked me, yeah says a different tune than your response to my review. His claim of an old 2024 invoice in the glovebox is also a lie. I've attached a copy of the picture I took. It is a fail notice for emissions for Oregon dated 5/9/2026. Vin # WMWMF7354TL90817 Also, here is one screen shot of the code scanner. NO codes?? Original review: sketchy business practices. Drove from the coast to look at a mini cooper. I was told it was in good operating shape, just a bad sunroof motor. It had 9 fault codes, a bad battery, a broken radio display, and the air conditioning didn't work. We discussed price, but then the title wasn't on hand. They kept offering to write the bill of sale for less to save on licensing. Paperwork in the glovebox showed they failed emissions on it due to cleared codes. We left. He messaged me while I was driving trying to knock 200 more off, but I was driving so i didn't read the messages until I got home. Then I noticed he had blocked me. It proved my suspicion. The building has 3 different names of dealerships on the same wall. That should tell you all you need to know, plus one side of the lot has cars for sale, the other side has cars not "on the lot yet" that are in various stages of repair. Run away

Matin, at Sunnyside Motors is a saint. I recently lost an incredible truck in a no fault accident…read more I noticed Sunnyside Motors listed one, same color, low miles, no accidents, but the bigger brother, larger engine and 4x4. I inquired about it amd he immediately reached out and answered every question I had and provided so much knowledge. I went and looked at the truck and it was everything he said it was, so we bought it. He is genuine, and honest. And cares about the vehicles being at their best before they are sold. I will be returning to him shortly for a other awesome and reliable vehicle for my son. I'm very picky with vehicles and skeptical. With Matin, I had nothing to worry about. Nothing hidden, nothing sketchy. You don't find people this genuine these days. Thank you, Matin, and Sunnyside Motors.

Duran and all the other staff made the purchase a great experience-- this is the only way to buy a car going forward.

BUYER BEWARE: "CarMax Certified" Truck Failed in Hours, Leaving Me Out $27k Cash…read more I purchased a "CarMax Certified" 2022 Nissan Frontier (48,000 miles | VIN: 1N6ED1EKXNN614393) from the Clackamas location for over $27k IN CASH, expecting a reliable vehicle for my family and business. Our salesperson, Ian, was professional and great to work with, but the confidence ended less than two hours later. While driving home over the Oregon Coast Range with my 7-year-old daughter, the transmission began slipping, hesitating, and violently jerking forward at highway speeds. A local mechanic inspected it, and Nissan later confirmed a major transmission failure. Worse, Nissan found clear evidence that the transmission had been previously tampered with, removing the factory warranty coverage and throwing responsibility entirely back onto CarMax. The Corporate Runaround: Instead of standing behind their "certified" vehicle, CarMax has subjected me to a week of exhausting escalation and dodging: Service Manager John (Beaverton): Has held the truck for 6 days without providing a diagnosis. He doesn't return calls, ignores Nissan's service department, and literally laughed at the mechanical failure. Operations Manager Elliot: Recited a rigid corporate script to explain why he won't help. General Manager Eugene (Clackamas):Friendly enough, but completely lacks the authority to resolve the issue. The "Solutions" Offered: CarMax has verbally offered completely unacceptable options, refusing to put any of their extensions or promises in writing: 1. A sketchy repair: Forcing me to accept a truck with a known history of tampering, zero Nissan powertrain warranty, and a used/rebuilt LKQ transmission (which Nissan mechanics advised is a dangerous long-term solution). CarMax refused to include a MaxCare warranty to offset this massive risk. 2. An indefinite replacement search:Waiting forever for them to source a truck from across the country, while expecting *me* to pay the shipping costs for their failure. They refuse to do a fair price exchange for comparable trucks already available locally. 3. The Refund Trap: They told me it will take up to 10 days just to get my cash back. The Bottom Line: Vehicles break, but the way CarMax handles it is the real nightmare. Because they are holding onto my $27,000 cash for over a week, I am physically trapped without transportation and completely blocked from buying a reasonable replacement vehicle elsewhere. They gave me a small SUV rental that doesn't fit my business needs, meaning I am actively losing work income every single day while they sit on my money. My Advice: Do not trust Carmax. I thought I bought peace of mind; instead, I bought a $27k project, a week-long fight, and a complete loss of my transportation and livelihood.

Jeff Stone at Premier saved me about $4,000 this week. I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer... and THREE other local shops had told me that the repair needed to get the vehicle past DEQ would run me upwards of $3k. I'd basically written my Chevy off as junk, and literally went to Premier to look at buying a Chevy truck he had listed online... (I chose Premier in the first place for two reasons: (1) they often deal with vehicles previously owned by governments ... those kinds of vehicles have excellent maintenance histories, and (2) because of the other positive reviews here on Yelp... glad I did that! Good lord... find a decent car on CL and then check Yelp for the dealer's rep ... 80% of them are freaking *nightmares*!) Anyway, when I got there, he said that I really didn't need another car. Instead, he suggested that his shop could fix my current car's problem for a price that I honestly couldn't believe (under $700, and that included extras like new brakes, a new muffler, and some other small repairs). Sure enough, a few days later, the big problem was gone, the car was in much better shape b/c of the additional stuff, the car passed DEQ, and best of all I didn't have to buy another car. He even loaned me a beater while they worked on mine. I'd saved up (well, borrowed) ~$5k for this whole hassle, and wound up in a much better place for way less than $1k by the time I paid him & went to the DMV, etc. So, he actually saved me $4k+. I had a good look around at their shop while there... these guys *know* motors. (Not that I'm exactly qualified to say that, of course, but I just got the impression walking around their shop that these guys actually know what they're doing about 10x more than the other shops I'd been to in recent times w/ respect to the same problem I was having.) Anyway, I hope I don't need a new (used) vehicle for a good long while, but if and when that day comes, I am 100% going to see Jeff @ Premier, and will recommend them to as many others as I can.
