Upon arriving at our home in Virginia (hundreds of miles away) I found that the bridge pickup was non-functioning. Dialogued with the seller on what to do to resolve it and they suggested getting a quote locally for repair. I made a special trip to Guitar Center and got a quote for $80 to have it repaired. They offered only $50 as compensation. What??? Pretty lousy that they won't take full responsibility for selling me a defective guitar. And all this after wasting my time dialoguing with them, sending them pictures of the guitar, getting the quote, etc... Because my son got attached to the guitar immediately I'm just going to get it fixed at my expense. What cheap skates and what poor customer service. I'd never advise one of my employees to turn off a customer like this to preserve profit on a single deal. Very short sighted decision. This experience is a huge contrast to the positive experience I had at Russo Music Center in Trenton (check out my review) where the customer service was outstanding.

I came here looking for a new cello end-pin thinking it would solve my issues with my hand cramping…read moreand spoke with Paul and he told me that there are much better/cheaper solutions and was more concerned with figuring out why my hand was cramping instead of trying to get a quick buck out of me by just agreeing to switch out the end pin. I have a bent end-pin with a strange extension mechanism that I assumed was a broken mechanism because I could never get it to lock in it's extended form. Paul took a look and figured out how to make the mechanism work and told me a new end-pin wouldn't be necessary. I asked him to look at my bow and see if there could be a cause for concern there and he educated me briefly about the importance of a bow's balance and how if the bow's hair were not properly maintained, it could ruin the feel of an expensive bow/any bow, really. I got to compare my bow's current feel against a cheaper bow that was properly balanced and instantly felt the difference (took the bow home to test, and of course the hand cramps seemed to go away with a properly balanced bow). He broke down the costs of what could be fixed and was not pushy to sell anything to me which I greatly appreciated. Looking forward to coming here next time any issue/concern with my instrument arises. The only "issue" I had is that I did not call before my first visit, so I came to a locked door. Paul isn't always in this location so please make an appointment to save yourself the same confusion I faced.

Levon has encouraged me to keep learning, and I'm quite glad he does so. For some people, they hop on YouTube to learn how to play a SONG; Levon teaches you to play the INSTRUMENT. Lessons are a combination of book work, theory, and a song of choice to help keep interest. I started about six months ago and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. My 11 year old has expressed interest too, and his first lesson is this Saturday! Can't wait to see how much enjoyment he gets out of it.

Eileen is very knowledgeable teaching hands playing on as well as theory. At 59 years of age I am still that inquisitive kid! She takes the time to answer all of my questions. She has techniques (or projects) that she can show shortcuts by breaking the music into more manageable parts that will have you playing in no time. I can't stress enough; Practice, Practice, Practice. She accommodates my schedule by providing an 8:00pm to 9:00pm time slot.
