My experience trying to purchase a truck from Picard Lane Auto Sales was mixed. I'll be honest, the sales staff was friendly and accommodating. Their Prices seemed fair and were easy to negotiate with when it came to service that needed to be done to the vehicle. However, It was all downhill from there. I was then passed off to their "Business Manager" in order to discuss financing. I knew what to expect. It's used car dealer. The BM makes their hefty commissions off of the third party warranties They try to push on you. They are not always a bad buy but in this case, it definitely was. I expected the usual high-pressure sales tactics: expressing deep concern over the age of the vehicle. Exaggerating major repair costs by showing you a few figures that are printed in the brochure of the warranty company. Telling you horror stories. etc. We eventually got around to price and monthly payments and I told her I was going to bring the numbers home and discuss them with my spouse.
The next day, my lovely girlfriend and I went over the numbers and had a few questions on how the figures were arrived at (perfectly reasonable questions to ask when negotiating a business transaction). I called Picard Lanes and asked for their BM, Anna. I was told that she had taken the day off. When I asked if there was anyone else I could speak with in regards to the financing, I was informed that no one there could was capable of answering my questions. Annoyed at this point, I made a comment on how they were to make sales if there was no one there to do the financing?
The comment was unnecessary but true.
The next day, I received a call in the morning from their BM, Anna asking what questions I had about the figures she presented me. We began to go over them and as we were talking she began to get agitated. At this point, she began lecturing me (as if I was her husband or child) about how she has every right to take a day off when she needs to, she accused me of yelling at the staff (I never did) along with a bunch of petty, over the top insults and accusations. Stunned at the behavior of the person, I tried to interject to defend myself. WRONG MOVE. I was then yelled at for interrupting her and told to be quiet until she had finished. I let her finish and gave her a piece of my mind. I could have let it pass, but I never been one to get walked all over so why start here.
At this point, I had decided to let it pass. Regardless of what I thought of their BM's actions, I still wanted to buy the truck. I made an appointment, They started the paperwork and I drove over with my spouse. When we arrived, we were takin into Anna's office where she had my paperwork ready. She had appeared to have calmed down at this point. I began signing the documents when she handed me a contract to sign. Now, I always read a contract before I sign it. This can be a bit time-consuming, but absolutely necessary. I got the impression that Anna was annoyed by this because it was at this point that she began to get very agitated. I asked her to clarify some language in the contract for me and she just shut down. She very rudely said that "It's a standard contract", "just sign it or don't" etc. I asked her where all this hostility was coming from and then the shit hit the fan. she then started yelling at me she gathered up all the paperwork accused me of harassment (me, are you freaking kidding me?) and then threatened me by saying she was going to have someone deal with me. My spouse and I both tried to de-escalate the situation a number of times, unsuccessfully. Then a large man entered the room and asked us to leave.
I have never in my life experienced customer service so bad as I did when I went to Picard Lane. Not only will I never do business with them but I am taking a good portion of my time to write this stupid long review to let anybody considering this place to steer clear. If this is the type of treatment you get for just asking a few questions, just imagine what would happen if something went wrong with the vehicle you bought from them. read more
