The coach is so good and he really encourages my daughter. She's 5 so I don't know if she'll be good or not ... but it's definitely great to get outdoors and introduce her and I to something new. The max capacity for the class is 8 people, so you have to make your reservation early - this is easy enough to do on their website. They also offer round robin tournaments and other organized pickleball activities. My only gripe is that it's not easy to reserve a pickleball court if you just feel like playing on your own. Sometimes, when the weather is nice, we feel like going out for some impromptu pickleball and don't feel like competing. Still looking for places in DeKalb where we can easily reserve a court and do our own thing. I believe you can call to check availability and reserve, though.

The facility is beautifully designed and the courts are as top-notch as you might think, with the funky and ominous (read: abandoned) Presidential Hotel as part of the scenery. Couple of critiques here are as follows: the parking allocation is not nearly enough for the amount of visitors here on a daily/nightly basis. I'm hoping the owners will consider expanding that at a later date. also, the court lights are too low and, during night play, the ball gets lost if goes above them. kind of a big miss to make the light poles as short as they are, but I suppose that could be improved in the future as well. Overall, though, having access to covered courts is a luxury we're not really used to in the city. and it's great! Looking forward to future improvements to an already great facility.

I would recommend walking the trails with a partner, though, as it is a woodsy area. There are a few benches along the way where you can sit, rest, snack, and meet others exercising on the trail.
