Fun neighborhood with long swim lanes pool. Their pool is big and beautiful. They also have small diving boards which is great to experience. Great place to take our kids in the summer. The Embry Hills Club is great place to meet your neighbors and have a good time. If you are not member, you are missing out on one the best reasons to live in Embry Hills. The Embry Hills Club was established in 1958 when the neighborhood was first being developed. They offer swimming, tennis, Sand Volleyball and a variety of social activities throughout the year. Opens May through Labor Day. But if the weather permits they have open plays for Sand Volleyball. Usually they have plays after dark around 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Cost for the open play for Volleyball are just $5. They also do the league matches which cost around $55 which is very reasonable compare to other places. The two courts are fully lighted and bright. Plenty of chaise lounges, poolside tables, two sun decks, and a clubhouse for parties. Youth swim team available for children ages 5 and up. The Embry Hills Club has a long connection with ALTA tennis. They have two lighted, recently resurfaced hard  courts. They offer ALTA women's and mixed doubles teams. Overall a nice sports club. Plenty of free parking available in front of the courts.

I arrived and let them know I have a day pass to use, and no one really wanted to help. There were like 5 people behind the desk too. No one offered to give me a tour of the place either. I mean, they don't have to, but it would've been nice. The layout of the gym is fairly interesting (and not in a good way.) There isn't really a stretching area. There is only one wall of mirrors, and most of the weights and machines are blocking it. While I attribute it to my first time being there, I had no idea where anything really was. The stuff used to clean the machines is a spray bottle and paper towels, I wish they had the wipes, but beggars can't be choosers. I probably won't be back. I normally go to LA Fitness, and I am glad I do.

The restaurant and " bar" should be closed for health violations. The bartenders know nothing about mixing drinks, and the only mixer is mineral water. Trash and debris abounds at the bar with no space to properly mix a drink. No ice machine, no fountain drinks. The staff openly eats while making drinks and food wrappers and half eaten orders are sprinkled throughout the bar area. No organization of the bar and no concern about serving people's drinks efficiently.

Everyone was super friendly and helpful. There's a whole array of boxing gear some of which I was familiar with from prior experiences. We did a few circuit training workouts which was fun but tough especially as they did not have air conditioning on this particularly warm day.
