This is such a beautiful park. It has so much to offer, from two dog parks to a nice-sized playground, and the trails are awesome. I would recommend walking the trails with a partner, though, as it is a woodsy area. There are a few benches along the way where you can sit, rest, snack, and meet others exercising on the trail. PROS: + Large and small dog area + Spacious + Has a dog water fountain near entrance + Hose down area near entrance + A couple obstacles + One picnic table, several benches + Pretty clean + Plentiful parking CONS: - Water stations located at the entrance, not scattered throughout - No poop bags, only neighbor-provided grocery bags - Trash cans are scarce too - Very little shade - Lots of gnats You get a good crowd at peak hours, otherwise it gets pretty lonely. This park is right next to my parents' house and I frequent it to take my daily jog whenever I'm in town. I love this park because the trail is so long and its not like super long, but enough for about 4-5 miles (if you take the full advantage of it), and the nice part about it is that this park is super clean. There's a huge dog park as well where you can take your pets out for their daily exercise as well, and it just looks very well-maintained. I'm surprised I would give any park in Georgia a 5-star rating because some are honestly so poorly maintained, but this one is a really nice one. There's multiple entrances -- there's a main one, and there's one where a children's playground along with the tennis courts are, and there's one near the football stadium/track. It's really a multiplex and has a little bit of everything, and the walking trail is connected with all of them so that is the best part! Hands down one of my favorite places to jog/walk in the Gwinnett area! read more

Such a great park! I've been searching for dog parks in the area and found Rock Springs via Yelp. This is an excellent park. The small dog area is MASSIVE. There is so much space, bags placed around for potty pick up, two water fountains and several jungle gym pieces as well. Everyone does a great job of picking up after their pet and being respectful. Near the dog parks are also a playground for children, walking trails, and much more that I've yet to explore but look forward to soon. read more

Fun park with a zip line. My daughter and her friends love this park. And they have a thing that goes round in circles that you hang onto. Bathrooms are clean lots of kids having fun for hours. Places to sit as well. read more

Had my border collie with me one night while visiting my parents, so I'm not too familiar with the parks up in their area. After looking on the county website for dog parks, I saw that this park had lights which was perfect considering it was dark out. Even though it's a bit out of my way back home, I gave it a shot and I can honestly say I am soooooo happy that I did, because the Rock Springs Park was one of the nicest dog parks I have seen!! Typically if a dog park says it has lights, it's usually lit from another area of the park, but this is the first and only dog park I've ever seen that is not only huge, gorgeous and clean, but that has a bunch of lights solely dedicated to the dog park alone!! My pup and I loved it and will definitely be back soon!! read more

Rock Springs Park is a great park, even more so since the expansion of the second playground and dog parks! I love to go walking around the trails at this park. Most of the trail is paved but there is a part of the trail that is unpaved and goes through the woods, it's perfect to escape the sun on a hot summer day! There's even a cool suspension bridge on the unpaved trail. The dog parks are great. There's a small dog park and a large dog park. On one particular Saturday I went, Gwinnett Parks was hosting a dog Easter egg hunt. It was adorable, there were so many eggs and each egg was filled with either chicken, ham, bacon, or cheese. Amazing dog park. It's huge! But for some reason I've ran into 2 "self proclaimed dog trainers" who caution you to "not pet my dog" because they're unpredictable but it's okay because they're "trainers" and they know more than you. If only they could train their dogs to behave in all social settings. But don't worry because "their protection dogs" so their dogs behavior is okay. Have fun! read more

Rock Springs is kinda a misleading park. You drive in and immediately see the vacant parking lot to the left and think, oh no. But no worries! Just keep on driving a bit! Going further in greets you with a nice pavilion on your right for picnics and grilling, and a kids play area to your left. The trail, which is a little over 2 miles of paved trail, is just to the right of the pavilion. As this trail, both paved and unpaved, are mostly in the trees, you gotta come here when the leaves change and start to fall. It's a real treat! At some point the trail stops being paved and takes you down a slope that your bike needs great brakes for if you're cycling, and leads you to the nice surprise of the small suspension bridge! What a treat. A few more turns and you're spit back out onto paved trail. There's a nice little retention pond, man made, that sometimes has huge water lily pads floating on it along the paved trail, and there's a bench positioned right at the pond for a great view. Plenty of parking and restrooms near the front of the park, along with a tennis court and a football field adjacent to the park. Like most Gwinnett County parks, Rock springs has something to do for most, and has its own personality that shines when you're here, and makes you want to come back quickly. This review is specific to the dog park - it is fantastic! The large dog park is just that, LARGE. Tons of room for your furry friends to run, jump, play and relax. There was a great diverse group of dogs today, all with responsible owners (which is important). There are obstacles for the dogs, water stations, benches throughout and trash bags if you forgot your own poo bags. The brand new restrooms are right next to the dog parks, and also right next to the soccer fields and playground. Great location for the whole family to enjoy. We will definitely be back! read more

This is a nice park. It's made for little kids no one over 8 would have a good time here. There are canvas shades over each of the playgrounds and plenty of shaded area for parents to sit. There is also a pavilion with picnic tables. There is a walking path and tennis courts. Its a nice park. read more

This is probably in my top 5 best dog parks in Atlanta to visit. Why? 1. Beautiful landscaping - Its always beautifully landscaped. Like right now there are tons of sunflowers! 2. HUGE! - The big dog park section is MASSIVE. So much room! 3. Lots of seating - I wish they all had shade so make sure you bring an umbrella or go on a cloudy day. 4. Safe - I have left my car unlocked by accident here and nothing happened. 5. Kid friendly/great playground for kids- Not that important for me now, but eventually it will be so I am taking note now :) 6. Lots of parking- great if you want to have a meetup with friends. 7. Clean and well maintained- The grass is cut and the dog area isnt muddy. Same goes for the kids playground. None of the equipment is dated nor run down. Cons: 1. Lots of nats. Bring bug spray. Highly recommend if you have a puppy or kids that needs room to spread their legs, use up some energy, or have a play date :) read more

This park has a few good paved trails that wind through woods, around a pond (full of lily pads at times) and to my son's delight over a suspension bridge. Take the kids down to it and let them bounce about. Woo-hoo free fun! The playground has the standard stuff except for this spinning wheel thing that you can walk on and gets faster as you walk. Half of the fun of this playground is watching adults try to walk on the thing. read more

This is a great park. My favorite feature is the 2.25 mile paved walking trail. The path goes through a beautiful wooded area and takes you past a couple of ponds. Lots of cute wildlife (squirrels, deer, and bunnies!). There's also a running track that circles a football field. The upper portion of the park has tennis courts and a large children's area. This has a separate entrance from the football field area. Both areas have their own parking and restrooms. The paved path can be accessed from either entrance, but you can walk the whole thing more conveniently from the field entrance. There are several dirt paths that are accessible from the paved path and cut across different areas. One even takes you over a suspension bridge that is pretty fun (it's sort of bouncy). The only downside is that the paved path does not have lights, so I would be careful about starting a walk too close to dusk. read more

I went for the first time and I really liked this park. It's pretty clean, there's a big fenced area for dogs, there's a nice playground for kids, and there's trails to walk on and they were pretty long around 2 miles. I didn't really see a more private area for picnics though so I wouldn't really recommend this park for that unless you go on a day that's not too busy. read more

This is a nice, well-kept park. Although a holiday, the park was not very crowded. If you are looking for a place to take a date or loved one for a stroll, this park will provide you with enough nature to make it feel like you truly got away from the hustle and bustle. If you need a park with some shaded trails, this one has several sections that will do very nicely. The bridge, built in 2009, is particularly nice and more attractive than many of the bridges found in local parks. read more
