I signed up for a Pickleball 101 class. It was equal parts educational and hands on training. I enjoyed it a lot and the instructor was fabulous. Definitely worth the fee. There is a parking lot right up front so that is a plus in my book. Also the facility is spacious and clean. I took off one star because the website didn't explain what the class would entail nor what to bring (it was easy enough to call and ask but still...) and also because it's not super clear if they offer anything between beginner 101 and immediate. It feels like a huge gap in their offerings.

    Courts under construction

Check your card when your leaving. I didn't complete my 2 hours but my card was charged $32 instead of 16. The courts are still under construction so the nail polish smell will be there a little longer. You get used to it eventually. But if your in a court near the construction prepare to lose a few balls and worry about hitting construction workers. The website was a little confusing but just know 8 dollars per person per hour is the price (sort of like top golf). If your able to reserve under free play they will still ask you to pay the fee once you're there. That fee pays for you to be on a court with lots of free pickle balls , no paddle (that's extra). It's probably better to join a clinic for the same price. At least you know you'll have someone to play with if you didn't bring everyone. Parking is alright, the facility was pretty unoccupied today. The location is convenient to downtown.

Everything about the facility and sport is nice and hassle free. The only negative is it's COLD. Layer up, especially if you're lean.

It wasn't awkward at all ... being that I never played tennis. Coach Joe is AWESOME. He's funny, full of energy, and treats each one of us like we can be a tennis star even in our later years. I found the Summer Class for the little kids (5 years old) to be reasonable and luckily in my time schedule. Monday's at 4 and Saturday mornings. The coach is so good and he really encourages my daughter. She's 5 so I don't know if she'll be good or not ... but it's definitely great to get outdoors and introduce her and I to something new. They also have a lot of free and for profit events. Join the email group. If things remain the same I'll forever be a patron whether active or passive.

The max capacity for the class is 8 people, so you have to make your reservation early - this is easy enough to do on their website. They also offer round robin tournaments and other organized pickleball activities. My only gripe is that it's not easy to reserve a pickleball court if you just feel like playing on your own. Sometimes, when the weather is nice, we feel like going out for some impromptu pickleball and don't feel like competing. Still looking for places in DeKalb where we can easily reserve a court and do our own thing. I believe you can call to check availability and reserve, though.

I have yet to visit a spa, but that is on my list for the future! This Peachtree Corners location is no exception. My son and I traveled to ATL for the PPA pickleball championships this past weekend and we pretty much spent every waking hour at this facility from Thursday when we arrived until late Sunday night when the tournament was over. We spent the majority of our time either playing pickleball or watching pickleball (both on the indoor and outdoor courts due to some rain), but the facility did a great job (along with the PPA) in navigating the large crowds and keeping the tournament going. We enjoyed some food from the cafe, the locker rooms, and of course the courts and the rest of the grounds as well. We were lucky to be traveling with a friend who purchased VIP Parking, so that was a nice touch... and medaling in some of our events helped make the experience even more fun too! Shoutout to Suzanne on the Life Time pickleball staff! If I lived in the area, I would definitely be spending time here more often - likely taking advantage of open play... We hope to be back next year!
