In particular, Pilates with Tanya Grillon and her Staff at Bousquet Sports is excellent. My health and physical condition have improved significantly while attending Tanya's classes. She is quite clear with her instruction and was very patient with this Pilates beginner. I am in my eightieth year with many of the aches and pains that accompany my maturity. Twice weekly Pilates has alleviated my discomforts. In my experience, Tanya is among the best coaches and trainers with whom I have worked. My experience with sports and coaching includes currently refereeing high school lacrosse games, playing football through the college level and coaching youth, high school and college football, as well as, girls' youth and AAU basketball. Highly recommend Pilates as a gentle, effective exercise routine for increasing mobility, strength, and performance and Tanya Grillon at Bousquet Sports

I just experience this fitness center for the very first time today and after spending nearly 3 hours playing pickle ball, boxing, stretching, and hitting the weights, I've got to say... it's an incredible facility! Everything feels brand new. The machines look and feel perfect, the equipment is all neatly organized and the staff are super welcoming. I couldn't find a single flaw!

Totally terrific experience. I've been wanting to play here for years and am so glad I did. I had a…read morevoucher at nearby Holiday Inn Express and did a three hour morning session at Total Tennis. Four of us played instructed by the funny and excellent instructor, Michael. It was a hot day on the clay but we somehow persevered. I am already thinking of when I can come for a two or three night stay. The prices are very good. I had buffet lunch included (3.5 stars) and Evan offered me use of the pool and breakfast even though I'm a day tripper. Friendly staff and a fun and fantastic experience great for Beginners to Intermediate. They have a spa and bar also at this down to earth rustic lodge. Can't wait to be back and bring some tennis friends.

At first I was unsure about going, since I've never been to a tennis getaway, and I wasn't going with anyone. What's so nice about Total Tennis is that you can go any weekend or mid week session. Be ready to wake up early! Breakfast is early, then morning session of tennis. Break for lunch, and then more tennis! There is a rest period before dinner, wine and cheese hour, and after dinner, you can go to the bar and hang out with people or game room. I have already been a few times by myself and with my mom. The first time I had Tony who is an absolute sweetheart! He is perfect for beginners and is so easygoing and approachable. Then I had some other instructors, but not for long. I was moved to Samantha's group, and by that time, she was a great fit for me. Super funny and energetic. Kept us on our toes and always moving and challenging us. And everyone gets a 30 min private lesson, and you choose what you want to work on with your coach and you can do this any time during your stay. It is also so easy to meet people here and to just feel comfortable. And full room and board, rustic rooms, but adds to the beautiful back-drop of the Catskills. The food is great, and they always do ice cream sundae nights. There is a hot tub, outdoor pool, and you can sign up for massages (extra charge for that)! It is incredible in the fall in Oct! Perfect temperature. I have yet to try the winter!! Thank you to the director, Ed, for always giving me a great experience here :)

"And I think it's gonna be all right Yeah, the worst is over…read morenow The morning sun is shining like a red rubber ball" (The Cyrkle) Pickle balls aren't red. They're either pink for practice or yellow for games. And they aren't made of rubber, they are plastic polymer whose chief characteristic is that it doesn't bounce very high. If you drop it from over your head, it will barely bounce to knee level. Learning (and remembering that fact about low bounces) is just one of the many things you'll need to master if you want to take up the sport. Pickleball was launched in the mid-1960s and is played on a smallish court with a modified tennis net, using a paddle and those perforated polymer balls. I'd best describe the game as the love child of tennis, ping pong and badminton. When you hit the ball, it sounds more like a thud than a ping! Similar to tennis, your goal is to hit the ball over the net and into your opponent's side while adhering to a myriad of rules about serving and counting bounces and staying away from a zone in front of the net that reminded me of the goalie's cease in hockey. Dill Dinkers has 20 locations across ten states. There is just one Connecticut location. Yesterday, we took our very first pickleball lesson at Dill Dinkers in Simsbury, in a space previously occupied by Borders Books. We joined a beginner's class with about 20 rookies and interacted with three exceptional and very patient coaches who gave us lesson time, practice drills and embryonic game play with instant feedback on performance and the rules (which I consistently violated). For the third year in a row, Pickleball is the country's fastest growing sport, and their courts are taking over empty shopping mall space across the country. After one lesson, I am looking forward to charting my "progress" over the next three weeks. I'm not very optimistic about that!

The courts have a great aesthetic and have really good quality surfaces. My favorite part is how much space there is between the baselines and the fences. Not once did I have to worry about hitting the barriers, and that allowed me to play much more freely. We encountered a technical difficulty during a tournament that caused us to play an opponent out of order, slightly messing things up which was a little frustrating in the moment. But the tournament organizer did a great job resolving it, and went above and beyond to offer some compensation in the form of free court time and some waived fees which is a huge testament to their customer service. I really appreciated that gesture. Will definitely be back here!
