Scheduled a pickup for Monday for 25 boxes. they took 3. Rescheduled for wed. They didn't show up. Scheduled for friday and would only take 5 boxes even though they said they would take all 25. The driver was rude and dismissive and I will Never use this "charity" again!!! In the past they were reliable. read more

They never pick up all my items. I had a card table in perfect condition and they left a note saying it was too damaged. I've stopped using their service. It's easier to take it to ARC where they help unload and are very friendly. read more

If I could give them ZERO! I would! I have given them 2 separate chances to prove themselves just to have them prove they DO NOT CARE and are completely incompetent. The first time I scheduled a pick up for 6 boxes for the for which they only picked up 4. This 2nd time I scheduled a pick up for 25 boxes and called the day before to confirm they WOULD! pick up all the boxes. The lady on the phone confirmed yes they would pick up all the boxes. I drove over to my parents after a 13 hr shift and drug out 25 boxes..... They came and only took 8!!!! EIGHT! BOXES out of the 25! and left a brand new ADA walker in the box and a wheel chair and a ton more stuff! NEVER EVER AGAIN!! Horrible business practice and the woman on the phone just kept arguing with me that its up to the drivers what they decide they can fit. read more

Arrived at my storage unit and had to go inside to pick up my new code because of a security system update. Went back outside to let the guy into the gate and he sped off. Scheduling is a nightmare and the company wants you to be posted in a static position between 8am and 5pm (8hrs). If these guys pick up your donation, do not have anything going on in your household for 8hrs. Don't eat, make phone calls, entertain company, go to the store, or use the bathroom for 8hrs. You just might miss that phone call or miss the pickup with the representative, including being present on location. These guys have a total of a 2min window to be active/ idle. They will be released from the company if they are idle longer than 2min. Dont waste your time with this company, find another donation center that will work with you and for you, not the other way around. read more

I love that I go to their website, pick a donation day, leave my stuff out and it magically disappears. Sometimes the drivers don't look very hard...if I say it's on the porch, you actually have to walk to the porch! But, other than that, they are always timely. read more

I've had to utilize donation pickups for the V.V.A. Many, many times this year to clear out a massive "collection" bestowed upon me after divorce. I've donated over 1 ton of clothing (literally), bicycles, jewelry, art prints, electronics, bric a brac, glassware, novelties, and any and everything you could think of in-between totaling about 40 pickups over a years time. The pickups are always exceptional, my property is respected, they consistently leave receipts and have hefted and moved quite graciously a huge amount of stuff from one very thankful homeowner, hopefully to the benefits of the Veterans they serve. Thank you all again, you made my life so much easier to schedule and manage with your pickup availability, professionalism, and provide such an important service yourselves. You all helped my peace of mind far more than you know and I sincerely hope I could pay it forward myself to those who have served our country to make the absolute best for everyone out of my own circumstances. I really wanted to help our Veterans - it said they are in need of clothing. I have tons of clothes, coats, home goods, etc. The day of pickup I did not put the items outside as we have 50 - 60mph winds. Like most pick-up folks, they would call or ACTUALLY come to the door. I get a call from the office stating that the guy is out front. I explain & she says she will have him wait. I go to the garage immediately to pull the stuff out and NO TRUCK. You have time to call your office but not take 20 secs to walk to the door. I pissed off by the service and lack of concern or care. read more

I scheduled my pickup for Tuesday, on Tuesday morning. I received an email that they would be here between 11:00 and 2:00. I spent all morning boxing items and taking them out to the driveway. They never showed up. When I called they said oh sorry the truck got too full. And they can reschedule me on Thursday, two days later. I said so if it rains you'll still pick it up. No not. If it's wet, you need to bring it back in the garage or we won't pick it up. Up. Horrible customer service. Very unreliable! read more

Don't waste your time putting things out. They don't show up or leave a note if they decide not to load your items. I had to call, and they said it was too much for one person to load. Increasingly unreliable. Our experiences with them used to be pretty good, but now they either don't show or don't take things. Recently we had a huge note on our door to ring so we could give driver items in a few boxes and kept indoors due to the rain, but driver took only the one sealed plastic bag outdoors, never rang, so glad we stayed home all day so we would be there. That was several weeks ago, items s inside our door, once again they didn't show--apparently problems with drivers. Need to find a new approach, this organization is not worth the annoyance. read more

I don't get all the negative reviews. They picked up my items with no problem! I made sure I put a note that said "VVA Pickup" on all my bags I was donating (like mentioned to do in my confirmation email) & they got there early & did what was promised in my pickup appointment! The women that took my calls when they didn't show up were nice. Twice this week they were a no show. Very disappointed.

My friend's father passed away and we had to donate all of his clothing, shoes, and misc items. We were in a hurry to get going and one employee at the Donation Drop-Off was right there to help unload the pick-up truck full of bagged items. I didn't get the male Hispanic employee's name, but would like to thank him for sensing that we were grieving, lost, and in a hurry. He helped us in so many ways and was very touched by his compassion. Thank you and until we meet again. read more

I had some leftover garage sale items that I was going to donate, but wanted to try this out and support the VVA. I had to schedule the pick up 6 weeks out. Minor inconvenience, but I dealt with it and just stored the stuff in the garage until pick up day. Placed the 4 things out at the curb early in the morning of my pick up day. Mid-morning I received a call from a dispatcher or someone for the organization who said the driver was in front of my house and there was nothing there for him to pick up. I looked out front and saw there was no truck and all the items were still at the curb. The person on the phone proceeded to argue with me about the driver being there, and I finally said I was standing on my front porch and no one was there. He clicked back over to the driver, a few minutes later he finally pulls up. Dispatcher clicks back over to me and says his driver won't take an item because it's "damaged" - which it was not. I had taken the drawer out of the cabinet so 1 person could lift it per the websites rules. I could have donated this stuff more than a month ago but I didn't bc I wanted to support Veterans. However, I have learned my lesson and will not donate here again. Their customer service and drivers are rude. read more

I have used this donation pickup for over 10 years and for the most part, never had any issues. This past year, not so much. I have been rescheduled the day before my pickup at least twice, after I've moved boxes and items out to the driveway. This week, I had scheduled weeks in advance and they never showed up. I called at 5:30 pm and spoke to a dispatcher who put me on hold to check, then came back with no info and said well you're on the list - so just wait. They never showed up. It is going to snow today so I had to lug them all into the garage. When I called this am to see if they could come today - I got the rudest dispatcher on the phone. I was very cordial and nice. She was not. She said she would have the manager call me and hung up on me. She was straight up annoyed yet I was the one who had the appointment and they never showed up. I understand that things happen, I do. I draw the line when I call and I am made to sound like it was all my fault. The customer service and management is poor. I never received a call back from the manager, or an email. I emailed them as well asking for someone to just talk to so I can tell them of the ordeal since I use them so often. Nothing. Good luck - From now on I am just taking the stuff to Salvation Army, much less stress. read more
