Terrible experience with this place. They take forever, and only have 2 people working. Photos are very AVERAGE. Took 1hr to even choose pictures to print. Never coming back. Need more efficiency with the computers and staff. read more

Went and got my Christmas pictures done here on 11/28/20 of my 1 year old and 3.5 year old. We had my 3.5 year old's newborn photos taken here and they came out pretty good, but the experience on Saturday with both my kids was terrible. Chris was our photographer and didn't help direct the shoot ( I know they can't touch the kids because of Covid, but he could have at least taken charge and told me how to pose them) I brought my Mom with (who actually was a photographer for 30 years) and THANK GOD she was there. She helped to pose them and use the props. The pictures came out ok. Chris kept looking down at his camera and missing shots of the kids. I'm not a photographer, but even I know to take a bunch of shots quickly with young kids in order to get the smiles. I was irritated beyond belief. Terrible experience and I will not be going back. Wow! I'm shocked to see all the bad reviews! We do milestone pictures with a friend who's a photographer but the last 2 years we've done picture people for Valentine's Day pictures. We had an appointment yesterday (I didn't catch her name, she was pregnant) but we had the most positive experience! The photographer was super patient with my 15 month old daughter who didn't want to pose for any pictures. After about 40 mins of pictures I looked at her and asked if she was even able to get 1 good one! She said she got some good ones and would show them to me in about 10 mins. The only complaint was it took a little longer than 10 mins but I was surprised with how many really cute pictures she got (33 total)! I will continue using the groupon every Valentine's Day! We just got our photos done by Trinity & I can not express enough how AMAZING she was photographing my 9 year old. Every. Single. Photo came out PERFECT. I literally couldn't choose between them so I bought them all! She was so personable and made the whole experience so much fun for my son. She came up with so many different poses and even let my son choose ones he wanted to do (which ended up being one of my favorite photos!) if you need photos done- I highly recommend this location and Trinity as your photographer! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Running late, didn't even realize I was coming, even though I had an appointment in advance. Was with a 2 1/2 year old and an almost 1 year old, so time is of the essence. Was completely short staffed. Put my 1 year old on a bench with her brother. She fell off. No emotion when she did from the photographer. I posed the kids myself. She was getting irritated that the kids weren't listening to her (uhhh they are 2 and not even 1) and tagged in a guy that had just showed up. Rude beyond belief. My son is very tall for his age and is usually mistaken for a 4 year old. They took some mediocre shots and kept it moving. I would not go here again. I don't care that I used a Groupon. Waste. This location had me waiting for about an hour past my scheduled appointment which was very frustrating and when it was time to view the photos the photographer started photographing another family which took another 30 minutes. The only up side is that the photographer did a phenomenal job with the photos. He had my 4 month old laughing in almost every photo so the images came out great. I don't blame the photographer for the staffing issues since he was the only one available hence the 3 stars. I was there about 2 hours which is beyond unacceptable. read more

We have used Picture People for 6 years multiple times a year. Last night was a terrible experience, to say I'd think twice about going back is an understatement. Tonight I brought my daughters to Picture People in Schaumburg IL. We had a 415 appointment and had to wait about 20 minutes. After our session we were told it would be just a few minutes. Almost an hour later the studio manager Trinity told us the SD card was corrupted and she couldn't get our images on the computer. But she was talking to IT. She suggested going and getting dinner and coming back, coming back tomorrow, or my favorite option, buying the $99 disk, since she could transfer from the corrupted SD card, but not to a computer! I told her those were not going to work. At this point in a condescending voice she asked if I wanted her to have IT stop trying, almost like she was threatening me. A while later they were viewable, but she had to take off an image. She informed me they weren't edited or cropped and when I asked her to do it she told me it was good enough and she wasn't wasting her time! She was extremely rude, at one point called my husband crazy, didn't care to help the situation and made it into our problem not hers. They were incredibly behind and understaffed. I had planned on purchasing the $99 disk, but due to her rudeness I left there with the groupon purchase of $1.60 I've been using Picture People multiple times a year for 6 years and this has left me terribly unhappy and unsatisfied. I will not be recommending this company any more. What should have been a fun easy experience turned into a 3 hour awful event. read more

First time getting professional pictures done for my son. We knew we wanted smash cake pictures for my son's birthday, so after looking at the Picture People website, and saw that they offered them, I booked a 2pm session. I went in the day before to ask what I needed to bring. She told me that I had to provide the cake and balloons if I wanted to include them in the pictures. When I showed up (15 min early) for my 2pm session the next day, they didn't call us back to the studio until 2:30. By that time my son was already fussy from waiting and ready for a nap. She was able to get a few good pictures, but the only prop tjey offered was a simple chair. There was a male associate helping the photographer. When it came time for the smash cake pictures, he rolled out the white background and asked for the cover sheet or table cloth or however he worded it. I said I didnt bring one. He said, so you just expect us to do smash cake pictures on our white background? 1. Um, I dont know, I've never taken professional pictures before 2. I asked yesterday and she didnt mention anything about bringing something to lay down 3. That was super rude and unprofessional After that interaction, I was even more annoyed than I already was. The pictures turned out ok but even those came out plain. Our photographer gave us a discount, which was appreciated but I was extremely disappointed overall. I will not be returning to this location again. read more

We have been here twice and each time loved our pictures. I would highly recommend Allison. She was so good with my Daughter, who is 3 years old. She was able to get great shots and the with the Groupon, the you can't beat the price. We will be returning! read more

On dec 23rd my family did a photo shoot for Christmas and paid $90 for the cd with the pictures. On the next day I wanted to send aome of them to my family but unfortunately there was nothing on the cd. Not only the ruined my Christmas, but when my husband went there on 26th to get a new cd and ask for couple free prints which is the least they can do, they told him that he needs to pay for it read more

Allison is gone. This place used to be awesome. In years past, we've had amazing experiences. This year was terrible. We were there 2 hours in an excellent display of inefficiency and incompetence. The photos were mediocre at best. Some of the photos had the tops of our head chopped off or were out of focus. We were left with 25 photos to look at and only about 4 of them I would consider putting on a holiday card. We left disappointed and will not be back. read more

I wanted to try this place as an inexpensive way of capturing my daughters 6 month birthday. I loved the experience as it was fast and efficient. The photographer was awesome with my baby and was somewhat successful in making her smile (Big kudos to that as my baby is not big on smiling in general). The pictures however were subpar and very plain. She had so many props but wouldn't really use them and only used a plain white background for most of the pics... At one point my baby was in a rough basket and didn't like it much as she started to cry. Instead of putting a blanket under her so she can calm down she just kept trying to position her in this uncomfortable basket. I had to finally ask her to put a blanket in the basket before seating her. When she did she went for this cheap pink one that didn't match the picture scheme at all... You get what you pay for so I'm not really complaining just sharing my experience. Decent for what it is... read more

We've used Picture People for a few years now and always enjoyed them. Today we used the Schaumburg location inside Buy Buy Baby. Never again will we use this location. After waiting half an hour from our appointment we did the photo session. That part was fine, they only have one room so they apparently overbook. The problem was with Trinity who told us she was the manager. Apparently there was an issue with the memory card and she couldn't load the pictures into the system to print. She offered to put them on a CD so we could print them ourselves. She wanted $100 for the CD, in edited or cropped. When I asked what our other options were she rolled her eyes and said we could leave and maybe if they could fix it come back. We had a Groupon she didn't want to honor and insisted that we should give her $100 for the CD. After we stood our ground and many other customers waiting pointed how unfair this was, she amazingly was able to print our pictures and took the Groupon. Never again will we use this location and are contacting them to let them know of Trinity's unprofessionalism. If Trinity is working, I recommend you walk away and go else where. Luckily the photographer was great and took great pictures. But we spent over 3 hours to get one print. Beware of Trinity's shading rules and her attempts to try and up sell and hold your pictures for ransom. read more
