I DO NOT recommend Picture Perfect groomers in Marina on Reservation Rd. First, I should have paid attention to my dog when she was very nervous to meet both Laura and Ben. She did not feel comfortable with them. Dogs can be a great judge of character. The front of the store is odd, doesn't look like a grooming business at all. Dirty, smelly, and unkept. You cannot see the very hidden grooming area. What are you hiding?! I asked for a trim, nails done, and bath. My dog was almost unrecognizable when I picked her up. No big deal, they said she needed a shorter cut. Although our regular groomer would have done the work and brushed out some tangles. Ben even said "it's not like we don't want to do the work" um ya it was exactly that. Laura was complaining about a man's dog barking the whole time it was there and then she proceeded to tell me who he used to date and that he looks bad now! I was shocked at her behavior! Is she intoxicated? What did she say about us when we left? My dog had an uneven neck trim like they forgot to do the other side, she had a shave line to the skin on her neck that is very obvious (looks like a slip of the clippers) most of the shave is uneven and blotchy, and still had knots behind her ears! I messaged Ben, no response. This morning I noticed one whole paw is not trimmed! I messaged him to cancel our other appointment for our other dog. DONE! Never again! read more

After reading the reviews about Picture Perfect and the owner Laura I felt it was necessary for me to leave a review as well. My family has known Laura since she first started with dog grooming around 1974 when she was on Del Monte Blvd in Marina. We trusted her wholeheartedly for many years with our dogs and she use to be amazing at what she did. Well nowadays my opinion on Laura and Picture Perfect have definitely changed. I have witnessed her on and off temper tantrums as well as her bizarre behavior. What is also upsetting is that her grooming skills have become sloppy and she even injured our dog. She claims we wanted our dog shaved to her skin which is absolutely bullshit and when I picked her up I wasn't impressed or happy. I definitely believe that Laura was under the influence of something that caused her to behave in an irrational manner. What I also want to mention for the people who still bring their pets to Picture Perfect for grooming is that they need to be very cautious about who they are entrusting their pets care too. Furthermore it's definitely shady as Hell that Laura and her partner Ben will not allow anyone to inspect the grooming area. What is this woman hiding? I believe she possibly maybe drugging some of the dogs while in her care. That's just my opinion. Anyways anyone who is willing to allow this horrible woman to groom their pet maybe asking for trouble. As pet owners it Is up to us to protect our pets from harms way and the possibility of abuse. I didn't get my dog groomed here. I read some of the reviews and went to check it out. It was as some other reviewers stated, they would not let me into the back to.see their operations. THAT is shady AF. If you are legit then you would have no problem letting the owners of the pups that we have entrusted you with, see where they are being cared for. The reception lady was kind of rude, and that was the first impression after we dropped our dog for grooming. When we came back to pick up our puppy, he was so mad at us, didn't want to look at us. This is very weird because he never did that to us before: we had taken them to SPCA for neutering and other shots, for longer hours but he never had that attitude with us like that. We also found out that they did not perform a good job on grooming: they said they trimmed the hairs inside our puppy ears but it looked the same. We never go back again. read more

My sister made an appointment for her cat & because she had to work so I took her cat for her. Immediately when I got there the place looked very dirty & sketchy. The lady at front has no customer service & she was trimming a cats nails right in the front. She told me there was no appointment & went to check something & said there must've been a mix up so she would try & get my sisters cat after the nail trim she was doing. The lady seemed very odd & not someone who should be dealing with helpless animals. While she was trimming the cats nails she was cursing & somewhat being aggressive towards the cat & the owner was right there. She also yelled out to someone to "shut those dogs up" about the dogs they had in the back. I felt very uneasy & made the decision to leave. Do not bring your pet here!!!! After my husband picked our miniature schnauzer up he noticed him scratching alot under his chin. He looked under his chin and noticed a big cut from the clippers. Long story short it end up getting infected so of course we took him to the vet. We called the picture perfect and asked why didn't they tell us they cut him because I'm sure when it happened my dog yelled out. They said they're not giving our money back because they have a sign on the counter saying check your dog before leaving. I've been taking my dog here for the past 8 years, simply because it's one of the only grooming places in the area. I've been telling my mom that we should find a new place, because my dog is always so scared and shaking when we bring her in. They've always done a so-so job, some haircuts are better than others. But from our most recent appointment, for the first time ever, my dog came home with fleas. She didn't have fleas to begin with, so we thought maybe she got it from this shop. I've gone to this location twice & both times were an awful experiences. I went to take my 2 puppies to get groomed a few days ago. The lady upfront that usually helps out the customers was extremely rude. As I was dropping off my dogs, I had an uneasy feeling. I drove off not even 2 minutes later, I called & decided that I'll just take them somewhere else. The man that answered the phone said that he had already shaved one of my puppies, which didn't make any sense to me given that I had not even left them there for a less than 5 minutes?? I feel like it was done intentionally just so I can pay for the service. When I picked up my dogs, one was already half shaved so I asked if she could just finish the one that she had already started & she RUDELY responded with "you're ganna take your fucking dogs" and still had the audacity to charge me!! Referred by a customer of Picture Perfect for grooming my Schnauzer, I dropped by to check them out and review their services - SO GLAD i did. It was difficult to identify as a dog grooming business, the store front has aquarium, fish and a variety of dog and cat food on the shelves. The floors were dirty, shelves dusty and the doorway to dog grooming covered by a tacked up piece of cloth to block the view of the stacked portable kennels. I make it a habit of consulting with professionals for their services and my expectations prior to any appointment. The young man who waited on me was unable to answer ANY questions, advised it was against their policy to permit anyone to see their grooming area or kennels and said the groomer isn't available to meet with me. Please be cautious about whom you trust with the health and welfare of your pet. Any reputable dog groomer should answer questions, offer an open door and have a clean and healthy environment for your pet's safety. They trust us to make responsible choices on their behalf. read more

I took my puppy to get groomed and when one of the ladies that works there came back out after a bit, she said to me about my dog." He's a little S**thead!" all because my dog was barked first at the other dogs that were caged. I couldnt believed it! The tanks don't look healthy, no one can ever give you a straight answer on the price of anything and if the owners aren't there they refuse to sell you anything. sad but true, only disappointment comes from visiting. I have been to several groomers in the area and Laura Sarver is by far the best. I would not trust my dogs with anyone else. She does an awesome job triming them. Her store is very clean and organized. My dogs are always excited to go in to get groomed. From previous experiences of other shops the only one I would recommend would be Laura. Laura by far is the best. I also have a salt water tank and I get all my supplies and fish from Ben and Laura. He is very knowledegable with all aspects of salt water tanks. Picture perfect is hands down the best place on the peninsula regarding all of your aquatic needs. They have a very knowledgeable staff and are more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Instead of being like those other pet stores just looking to make a quick sell, they will make sure you have the correct setup and a healthy tank before they will sell you any of their livestock. Regarding their livestock they have a wonderful selection of coral and fish (saltwater and freshwater), all of which always look very healthy. Took my dog here for the first time in March... he's a terrier and I wanted him cut like a Schnauzer... I was really confused and didn't know how to explain it. The man at the counter brought out a grooming book and looked through it with me and offered suggestions. With the haircut style decided, I was given a thorough intake form to fill out and choose my services - they pretty much do it all here - cut nails, express anal glands, brush teeth, administer flea medication... you name it. I opted for the royal treatment and picked up my pup a few hours later. He seemed happy and HE LOOKED AMAZING. They did a fantastic job. I have two critiques... (1) the store could definitely benefit from some general "jazzing up" - it definitely feels more like a musty aquarium shop.. and (2) there were noticeable clipper marks on my dogs back, however it grew out about a week later, so no big deal, plus, my dog is not a show dog, so I'm more concerned with his happiness/safety at a groomer then clipper marks! Overall - I'm happy and I plan on going back. read more

We just moved from Salinas to East Garrison and wanted to support a local small business. They got Shamus our Minnis Aussie in very quickly. He was also ready before he was promised. He looked fantastic. The bandana was such a nice touch. The rates were less than we paid in Salinas. His cut was attractive and he was excited to see us but not upset.
