Shepherds Pie with basic side salad
    Mele F.

Fun bar stop on way to Seattle from Skykomish. We had seen the pie signs for days and finally got a chance to try them. It was an early Sunday so we didn't sample the alcohol but both the shepherds pie and the chicken pot pie were tasty. I would have liked it hotter but the crust was great. The place itself was neat with fun biker pictures in the restroom, a pool table and couch in the back and both bar and table top seating. After a hiking trip in these mountains you may even need to try one of their sweet humble pies.

Nice atmosphere, dim lighting... definitely a divey vibe. The biscuits and gravy was a surprise. Got it for my son because I wasn't sure he'd finish a savory pie to himself and it might've been my favorite dish. I had the brisket mac and cheese and it was delicious. Brisket was nice and tender. It had a sweet bbq sauce with the mac and cheese. The crust was flakey and complimented the dish really well. The steak was good, too. Good creamy mushroom sauce on it. The only reason I docked a star was for the dessert. The cookies and cream wasn't for me - too creamy, one or two bites is fine... but it was too much. They ran out of the apple crumble which I'll definitely be checking out next time. The service was on point. Very chill, not super busy (and we went on a Saturday evening), and thr waits for the food was not long at all. It's a good place to bring the family or grabbing drinks with your buddies. Would definitely recommend checking this place out!

We stopped here on the way to our lodging and fell in love immediately. Warm decor, fantastic customer service (Mo was behind the bar) and great cocktails. We came back 2 days later. My only wish is that you had a location in Edmonds. Would love to see you here.

Banana Bourbon Cream Pie...this was my favorite.

This was recommended to my friends & I by some locals that were hanging out at a tavern we were having dinner at. They told us we just had to try the pie at Pie Dive Bar & it was right by our Air B&B. Lots of cool cocktails, beers & specials & several flavors of pie, maybe 7 or more? We tried 4 of the flavors, we had cherry, banana crème pie with a bourbon whip cream, Humble Crumble which is a Food Network Award Winner, & the strawberry rhubarb. Each slice is served with a small cup of vanilla ice cream. They also have a nice selection of savory pies but we had already eaten dinner so we stuck with 4 slices of sweet between 7 of us. It was good amount for each of us, especially because we just had dinner down the road. The cherry & Humble(a mixture of Granny Smith apple, marionberries, strawberries, raspberries & streusel) were both crumbles. My favorite was the banana with the bourbon whipped cream. It was piled high with good banana flavor & sweet cream. Strawberry rhubarb was also a crumble. Sweet & tart just like a strawberry rhubarb pie should taste. Before we left, one of the seven of us decided to take a whole pie home since it was the week of Thanksgiving. The nice ladies who were working in the back & front if the house told us that they could have a pie ready to go in 7 minutes & could we wait. YES, of course we could wait for that Food Network Award Winning Humble Crumble. Stop by if you ever need some pie or a cocktail in Gold Bar.

    Pie Flight x 2

Sweet Moses. That's what you'll say when you take your first bite. The chicken pot pie was the absolute best I've ever had anywhere. And I'm a lifelong CPP person. Also greatly enjoyed the apple berry crumble for dessert. During happy hour, you get a "pie flight" for $16. That's one sweet and one savory, full size slices. (Mine looks a little skimpy in the photo because I began to eat it immediately.) Hubs had the brisket mac-n-cheese pie and the chocolate bourbon pecan. When our server set it all down, I was sure there was no way we would eat it all. Oh yes we did!!! The crust is truly amazing. And they have fun cocktails, but it's not an overly bar-like feel here. Plenty of families. Cozy, cute, and clean. Friendly service. Great place to reward yourself after a hike at Wallace Falls. We will SURELY be back.

Peach crumble, brisket mac and cheese with Caesar salad

What a cool spot to stop by! My boyfriend had the brisket mac and cheese and said the brisket was phenomenal, the crust was flakey and full of flavor the only constructive criticism was maybe some more cheese! Was served with a tasty Caesar salad with legit parmesan cheese flakes and a delicious dressing I had their peach crumble. SO delicious. Sweet, the crumble was flavorful. I had no ice cream or whip but I'm sure that would add a whole new experience to it! The ambiance was cozy, clean, inviting! We sat in the back with the fire and the cool plaid furniture and the pool table. The waitress was tentative, kind and helpful. We went on a Sunday afternoon, it wasn't to busy. But I could see this place being packed on a busy weekend!! Will definitely stop by next time we are in the area.

First, apologies for the state of this magnificent slice of bourbon banana cream pie! It was so darn good I forgot to snap a before pic! Wow! This pie right here is truly amazing! It comes with vanilla ice cream but honestly, why? Nothing can out make this pie any better and still be legal. This may be my new favorite

Delicious pie. Excellent portion with a divine Caesar salad on the side. Also the cocktails are made very well. Love the vibe and the wooden walls; makes it a very cozy, warm experience.

We have been eager to dine at the Pie Dive Bar since we knew it was coming to Gold Bar. It is a perfect addition to the city and definitely a hot spot! Full on most nights but for good reason and definitely worth the wait. It has all the great aspects of a dive bar. Pool and lounge area and classic bar seating along with dining areas. The ambiance is perfect with the decor and style of the building in addition to the music. It makes you think, Gold Bar! Both savory and sweet pies were to die for! Absolutely delicious. The owners are so friendly and ensured we enjoyed our meal. Definitely will be visiting again. Thank you for brining it to Gold Bar!

During our last trip in the area, we decided to go on in for a drink. Dive bar fans, this spot is absolute GOLD. If you're in the area for a hike? Stop in for a post hike beer. In the area just passing through? Literally pull over for a drink or two and a respite from the car. Whatever you're doing in Index, there is no reason not to stop at the Sand Bar. The Sand Bar is nautical themed and so much fun. Themed to the NINES. As an event planner, their dedication does not go unnoticed. There's also so many fun fish tanks around! Kinda makes you feel like a kid again to just watch them swim around while you're relaxing. Would I suggest saving an appetite for this spot? Honestly, no. They have a DIY chili dog bar and rotating specials but all of the food is ready to go in crockpots. That said, if it was midnight and I had a few cold ones, I might just be inclined to make myself a DIY chili dog. I'm just being honest here. I did see in the parking lot that the local pizza spot will deliver here, so that might be a more sanitary option, but what's the fun (and gamble) in that? There's a fun outdoor area with eclectic seating and beautiful mountain views if you're there during the day. No liquor here, but they've got solid beer, wine, cider/seltzer options. The co-owner was working when we came in and he's a super nice guy. We complimented the bar and he insisted we give his wife all the credit as it was her idea and she was "nice enough to let him work there." We informed him we'd be back in the area for our June wedding and were planning on stopping in after we got married and he gave us a business card with their personal cell number to TEXT and let them know how many people from our wedding were gonna come in so they could prep karaoke and stay open a little later. I mean, how sweet is that!?!? Highly suggest supporting this small business whenever passing through Index - we can't wait to come back after our wedding. We're seriously rolling with our wedding party + then some.

Gratuity of 20% is automatically added to tabs for parties of 6+. Lounge seating consists of sitting at the bar. Large groups are not ideal; table tops seating four without ample room to combine tables. Seating can also be found around the pie station. Pie Dive Bar offers a full bar as well as house cocktails. Food menu is narrow, offering savory and sweet pie choices. My wife sipped on a Jameson on the rocks for $9 while I sipped on a glass of A'ki Cab for $10. For dinner my wife chose the Steak Pie for $16: flank steak, onions, garlic, potatoes, peas, carrots and cream of mushroom sauce. Served with a Rocket Beet side salad. My wife did not like that her salad was served on the same plate as her pie since it was unavoidable that the dressing would end up touching her pie. I chose the Chicken Pie for $14: chicken, onions, garlic, red potatoes, peas, carrots and a cream sauce. Served with a Rocket Beet side salad. Comfort in each bite. We took a slice of Banana Bourbon Cream Pie to-go for $10. Admittedly, I'm not a banana cream pie lover (my wife is) and this slice didn't change my mind. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall, Pie Dive Bar is the perfect stop when craving comfort food.

They were serving tables, clearing tables, dusting, just any activity besides seating us. We asked what the wait was going to be and they said "hold on." Meanwhile, they only had about 3 tables going and there were tons where they could have sat us. We finally got a table, but no service or even water for 30 min. I ordered a hibiscus marg and it was okay. I don't think it had alcohol in it. My friend got peach sangria, which ended up basically being Sunny D with grenadine. Her glass was cracked, so we asked if we could get a new one. Like 20 min later, we asked the server if her new drink was coming and he said no. He then gaslit us into thinking we broke the glass and would need to replace it. So weird. The food was fine. Very average. They aren't very flexible with substitutions and aren't aware of allergens. I got poblano shrimp and the sauce was watery and the beans tasted like lard. They forgot two of our dishes and got things really confused. When the bill came, we asked to see it because we were worried they would charge us for the meal they never brought out or the glass shard sangria. They said no LOL. We said we weren't comfortable paying without reviewing the items on the bill, and they had one of our group go behind the counter to look at it on the computer. Very odd. They really didn't know how to work their POS. We sat at a table next to a huge overflowing box of wires and cords. The whole aesthetic was really off, the servers were rude and unhelpful, and the food was like an even lower quality azteca/ixtapa. Not surprising for the location, but def not worth a stop.
