We were bored on a Friday afternoon and decided to do a little road trip out to Monroe. It was a pleasant drive, on a beautiful day. Our destination was the Route 2 Taproom, as it sounded interesting, and we've never been. We arrived, and it was what we were expecting, a very nice indoor seating area with quite a few tables, and a very nice outdoor patio. We chose the patio, which had a self service walk up bar. Just made it convenient and you didn't have to wait for someone to come to your table. My wife chose the fish and chips, which you'll see in the photo were very abundant, and cooked very nicely with a modest amount of fries, in my opinion, I would've liked more. The flavor was really good. I chose the chicken wings, which I was told I could pick multiple flavors, I chose the sweet chili, and the lemon pepper. Really like the sweet chili, the lemon pepper... well, was much too lemony. The beer selection here was quite extensive, we chose one of the lighter session IPAs, which was quite good. In town for a sporting event and seven of us (4 adults, 3 kids) took a chance. SO GLAD WE DID!!! Everyone loved their food, the server was very friendly and accommodating, and it was a fun environment. I wish I had taken pictures. Two orders of smash burgers, chicken and waffles (huge hit), tacos, BLT (another hit), kids burger, and the prime rib dip (drool worthy). Go there! read more

This was my 4th time here and ended up to be the best time yet! Our server Katie M made it so great. She was engaging, entertaining, enthusiastic and made us feel so at ease and had us all laughing! I ordered the turkey club and on her advice an ace Perry cider. My husband ordered the prime rib dip and the sled ryeder IPA also on her advice. She did was spot on for everything. The small issue I had was having the cheeses in my club not melted while the rest of the sandwich was warm and so tasteful. We will be back here again soon!! read more

Stopped here because there was no parking at the other spot across the street where I was going to meet my friend for lunch. This was a wonderful surprise!! We ordered mozzarella sticks and a fried chicken/ranch wrap and a smash burger with garlic fries. It was ALL amazing, the mozzarella sticks are handmade there as are their onion rings and chicken strips. They bread them all and deep fry them and they do an excellent job. I couldn't stop thinking about the garlic fries so I had to go back again today and my husband and I ate dinner there. This time we ordered the cheeseburger and the chicken strips with garlic fries and onion rings. I also ordered a small cup of French onion soup. The French onion soup was fabulous. I love the broth so much and I would consider myself a French onion soup snob. The broth was just perfect. It wasn't too salty. It had enough body and a delicious flavor... The whole meal felt like it was homemade and it was a very satisfying. Unfortunately, I did not take enough pictures next time I will. We had the best server, her name is Katie and she was so helpful in offering assistance and answering questions about items to order. On our way to Leavenworth, used Yelp to find this location for lunch. There were 4 of use, 2 ordered the fish sandwich, 1 a smash burger and I ordered 8 oz cup of French onion soup. This is a seat yourself establishment. The server was friendly and provided us with menus and asked us about our drinks. She was personable and friendly. After our drinks were delivered she took our order. I had the hazy IPA. Everyone in the party enjoyed their lunch. I think I'd recommend the bowl of French onion if this is your main course, it was for me. I munched on fries. The soup was tasty. The fry sauce is tasty , thought it had a dill flavor, loved it. The location is cozy, a bit chilly , but cozy. One wall is all TV's showing sport and other programming. Their program monitors were advertising outdated event info, had a monitor just dedicated to their list of beer, had a hazy IPA. At the table you can also access the beer menu via a QR code. Worth the stop, recommend this location. They have a great beer selection and food menu that is varied. read more

Excellent surprise! Great location, service was excellent and attentive, place was lively and filled up quickly at 6pm on a Thursday. Food was even better: husband had fish and chips and I had fish tacos. Everything was delicious and fresh. We are not beer drinkers but lots of choices for all tastes. Been a long time since I've written a review for here so just an update. Been living in Monroe and coming here 4 years now. Going up a star - with contingencies- lol We (my husband and I) love it here. The menu can be hit and miss but overall is great. Biggest tip - always go for the tots - skip the fries. Occasionally the inside of your chicken ranch wrap will come out ice cold straight out of the fridge- not a regular occurrence- will blame an occasional new hire in the kitchen. Chicken and waffles I the best thing on the menu minus the chicken. Don't do the chicken strips here. And if/when you do get the chicken and waffles - just know the waffles ARE THAT GOOD. I'd like to try subbing tots for my chicken some time (lmao dunno if they would do that). Everything else is fantastic. Baja fish wrap is solid. The fish in the fish and chips is my favorite in town, panko fish is bomb here. The prime rib dip is my husband's favorite in the area. Pulled pork is solid The nachos are possibly the best nachos ever. We've somehow never done the loaded tots but everyone says they are bomb. The beer & cider options are off the hook. If like to add I really appreciate the HUGE NA selection - as I'm looking at becoming pregnant in the future - and still planning on coming here. People who don't drink alcohol have so many tasty options now! I'd also like to give the bartender Ashley a huge shout out. She truly aided in me having better food experiences here. Her knowledge of the food and sauce combination abilities to truly elevate the experience has taken everything to the next level. She is THE SAUCE & EXPERIENCE QUEEN. I'd prefer having her as my server every time she is that good. Give that gal a promotion and raise! And I love the vibe here 500,000 times more than the other booshey location. Well it was hard to find in a strip mall with a lot of young families on a Sunday afternoon. The menu was underwhelming with pub fare really quite average I had the chicken and waffles which was two chicken tenders and waffles super sweet. We were really excited to try this place--the menu looked great and full of potential. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the hype. It took 46 minutes to get all our food, and it came out in random stages. There were only three of us, just in for a casual lunch, so it really shouldn't have been that complicated. Staff mentioned the kitchen was backed up, but the restaurant didn't even seem that busy. When the food finally arrived, we realized the pulled pork tots were missing the main ingredient... the pork. On top of that, the tacos were so spicy my daughter could barely get through one before we just called it and left. Disappointed overall. Monroe, you've been holding out on me! Stumbled in on the way home for a lunch and the patio. Pleasantly surprised by several pups enjoying the patio and a pool. There was lovely gentleman playing music and several individuals selling dog wares. It was so fun to interact with the dogs and I wish I had brought me! Walk up service was okay, bartender seemed distracted because her husband was there. Had to repeat my order in order to make sure it was correct. I didn't get a chance to order inside, but it looked great inside! The restrooms were clean and that was a relief. Plus, air conditioning was a welcome amenity. Food was good, but I was here for the amazing patio. We ordered sandwiches and salad plus a couple of sodas. Nothing to write home about, however my husband ordered a root beer shake. One of our go to places! Always a good beer/cider selection! Love the sound bite ciders when they have them in! We usually order a couple apps to share and always leave absolutely stuffed! Really enjoy the salads (quite large!), the nachos, the loaded tots, the pretzel, and of course you can't go without ordering the motz sticks!!! Occasionally some of the menu items are switched out- I wish they'd bring back the cheese fondue dips!!!! Also wouldn't be sad if they added a philly.... Nice outdoor patio area with cornhole boards and fire pits. So much fun to hang out on the patio on summer evenings. Occasionally host brewers nights which can be super fun- try some local brews and possibly win some merch! They've really come a long way from when they first opened all those years ago. read more

Its was our first time back since the summer, we used to be regulars it seems like today they were off, the service was just ok, i understand she was very busy. My order (chicken sandwich) was made incorrectly simple things I ordered fries, and they brought chowder, I wanted pickles, and they were forgotten. My wife's burger was bland, the meat was oddly tasteless for burger which was very surprising. Our waitress did not come back to take my wife's drink order after she tried a sample glass, the beer I had was good, but I wasn't expecting it to be $14.75 - that's a bit expensive for a beer. We will probably come back hoping this was a one-off for the food and service. Next time I will ask how much the beer is before I order so I am not surprised when paying. read more

Pre-COVID, we used to eat here semi-regularly. They have an excellent selection of tap beers, and the food was consistently alright. The good news is that the beer is still stellar, but the bad news is that the food has not fared well through the pandemic, and the service was borderline rude. The food is gastropub prices, but the food we received was cafeteria quality. I'm sorry to say it because there are so few restaurants in Monroe, let alone independently owned ones that have survived the pandemic. - The cheese on the mac and cheese wasn't even melted, and this dish was barely even lukewarm. - The apple looked like it been been cut with a butter knife hours earlier... why was it brown and pre-chewed looking? They didn't even bother to cut out the core. - The burger was OK, but there were no condiments on it, and none were available on the table or offered to us. - On all of the fried food, the breading just fell right off at the slightest touch. And I think the fryer oil may been a bit funky, because the fried stuff tasted kind of weird. We'll need to give this place some time and hope it bounces back post-pandemic. Stopped in for lunch today Wednesday November 20th. The place was packed, possibly due to power outages in over 100,000 homes after a cyclone bomb storm last night. There was only one remarkable woman waiting and bussing tables, drawing beers, making coffee. Every seat was filled. Later in the evening, my son stopped by for BBQ. Says it's good stuff! There are planned events like trivia on Wednesday night right at 7. The beer selections were varied, we sampled the dark beers. This Tap House it has its own Brew, which is featured also. The place has been here two plus years.
